Construction innovation is real.  Dan Carlton, President, Partner, and Makayla Oei, Project Executive, at Mark III Construction, Inc. shared what they are doing with building owners to standardize, integrate and innovate. Their process goes beyond conventional prefab and kitting. Currently, the United States construction industry now leads with the highest suicide rate at 50 people taking their lives for every 100,000 industry workers according to the CDC. There are about 11 million industry workers as of 2019.  We share ideas to provide help to those in need and build up our own mental health. Frank King, the Mental Health Comedian, says "You can make a difference, you can save a life, I can show you how."  The Easier, Better, for Construction Show is where people working to make building easier and better share how. Make Work Visible

The ideas and actions that made it possible for an architect and general contractor to work happily together include thinking we have the power to make our work better and a knack for making it visible to let it flow easier. Can the Last Planner System (Pull Planning), Kanban, and Scrum play nicely? Bruce Cousins and I think so. The Easier, Better, for Construction Show is where people working to make building easier and better share how. Stephanie Roldan and I explored the people side of construction, core values, mental health, Last Planner System/Pull Planning, and encouraging our kids to join our industry. If you underestimate your span of control and influence, this episode will reveal a new perspective and share uncharted paths to new careers in the construction industry. The Easier, Better, for Construction Show is where people working to make building easier and better share how. Stephanie's deepest passion is changing the way people work and see problems in the construction industry. She has been involved in construction for over 20 years from her time as a Journeyman Wireman apprentice to Project Manager to her current role as Director of Lean Culture. She now devotes her time to developing Rosendin employees in the office and on project sites helping them to recognize their full potential and helping them bring their greatest contribution to the world around them. Her focus on Operational Excellence is based on the belief that it is a human development strategy masquerading as an operational strategy, and therefore developing the people must be at the forefront.   Connect with Stephanie via LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephanie-roldan-77719612/ Website at https://www.rosendin.com/ Connect with Felipe via LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/engineerfelipe Twitter at https://twitter.com/felipe_engineer   Today's episode is sponsored by the Lean Construction Institute.
