It's muggy and rainy in Edinburgh, but it's summer in Kim's office, and Alisa, Anke, Kim and Heather are back to chat and catch up at the outset of the school holidays.  The kids are having a great time swimming, playing and relaxing. The ladies chat about some of our favourite trips taken close by to Edinburgh including visiting beautiful Gullane Beach, North Berwick and Stirling Castle.  Heads up parents: avoid the razor-clams at low tide!  There is some great advice for doings around town, including where to spot otters, bats and fish in the city, and advice on taking advantage of the ScotRail £1 kids summer tickets! The ladies talk about how we love Wimbledon.. the strawberries, the atmosphere, the picnics & Pims...and where to get a great brunch in town. The big question is... how are we doing?  It's almost the end of the school year.. and the weeks ahead are stacked.  How are we going to make it through the next couple of weeks to the school break?   Join Kim, Anke and Heather as we discuss fantasies about just keeping going past our offices and homes to Edinburgh Airport - but instead juggle everything from ceilidhs, to bake sales, to school discos.  The mums discuss what would help us these days.. everything from more proactivity from the family, to time out for ourselves, to eating good food to keep us going. Along the way we discuss why telepathy isn't a real thing around dinnertime... and the extent to which we will attempt to avoid the making dinner chore some days (including getting lost on a remote Scottish island).  We also talk about what the dream would be including working one day less just to keep up on all the extras we are responsible for.   At the end of the day, we just hope that our kids have a good time and all of the experiences that they can, and that maybe it all pays off someday... preferably before we are too old to drive!   #visitscotland #visitedinburgh #motherhood

Alisa ran the 45th London Marathon on the 27th, and Kim, Anke, Rebecca, Heather and guest Jessie are here to get the down-lo from her on her experience...after watching her cross the finish line on the telly. We find out what motivated her to run marathons in the first place, then talk about what she wore, how she prepared, and how she felt during the run.   We hear all about the costumes other people running wore... hilarious as well as admirable, and all about some of the best signs. It’s midway through the Easter school holiday (one more week to go before the kiddies are back at school!), and Alisa, Anke, Heather, and guest Tanya are catching up to chat about what the ladies have been up to thus far (trips to US, Portugal and exploring the city) as well as discuss how beautiful spring is in Edinburgh (go to our Instagram). Heather, Alisa, Rebecca, Kim, and Anke get together for our inaugural podcast on Mothers Day (cheers to Mother's Day!) to drink wine and discuss our special friendship group.  We talk about how we first met in Edinburgh, Scotland during the pandemic through our kids in primary school.. spoiler alert: we were desperate to make friends! The mums discuss what makes us special as a friendship group and what keeps us together...fizz and coffee are predictably incredibly important.  We talk about why being in Edinburgh gives us a special connection and opportunities for getting together face to face on a regular basis. We dive into whether we actually benefit from our age... and how social media could get in the way of making friends for younger generations.
