Dr. Joanna Frantz has been helping me on the road to recovery with my broken hip! Her PT has been world class and I love her background as both an equestrian and one of the official Physical Therapists for the Olympic Para Dressage Team! Hear about how she got to where is she today treating her equestrian patients, come common ailments and injuries she sees, and some exercises I am doing to get me back in the saddle as soon as possible.
Reading A Pony Met the World Today with my nephew! Author Vivian Laughman owns and operates a breeding and retirement farm and was inspired to write A Pony Met the World Today after she had her daughter. She always enjoyed creative writing, and has written several short stories and articles for Young Rider Magazine. They always say write what you know - so she wrote about a pony being born on the farm! Grab a copy today on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
On May 7, I broke my hip (technically my right femoral neck) and then had surgery on May 8 with four screws and a plate! As equestrians, we know this can often be part of the sport we love and dedicate our lives to. My community has been so supportive so I thought I'd share my journey thus far (now on week 5 of recovery) and the rehab protocol between vitamins, supplements, PT, and peptides that really seem to be helping my body heal fast and well... anything to get in the saddle faster!
I have a million nieces and nephews so I thought I would start a fun series highlighting equestrian children's books and read them to my family... and see what funny things happen...Enjoy!!
