The Eras Podcast

Each episode of our podcast will look at an Era in pop music from the perspective of a music industry professional (that’s Nic) and a pop music stan (that’s Duncan). We dive deep into single choice, rollout, PR and marketing choices, production, subject matter, performances, has the music stood the test of time and more - before giving the Era a rating out of 10. In Season 1 we’ll look at ”1989” by Taylor Swift, ”Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry and all the other main pop girlies. We hope you enjoy hearing our point of view!

Episode 1: 1989 by Taylor Swift

For our premiere episode, we break down one of the most iconic Eras in pop music history - 1989 by Taylor Swift. This epic Era lasted over two years from the Yahoo! Live Steam where Taylor revealed she was departing Country music, to the moment Kim Kardashian leaked video footage of the infamous Kanye West phone conversation (and Taylor went into hiding for 1.5 years!) - will we give 1989 a perfect 10?
