On 5 March, the LGBT Intergroup held a seminar "10 years of LGBT rights: Successes, failures, challenges." Under the chairing of Ulrike Lunacek, Co-President of the LGBT Intergroup, civil society representatives, MEPs and the EEAS discussed both concrete achievements of the last five years, and issues to be tackled after the 2014 elections.
On 28 January, the Intergroup on LGBT rights hosted a seminar on the topic of homophobic and transphobic bullying. Co-organised by the Youth Intergroup and the International LGBTQ Youth and Student Organisation (IGLYO), the seminar saw the launch of a research report on the impact of homophobic and transphobic bullying on education and employment.

Together with ARTICLE 19 and ILGA-Europe, the LGBT Intergroup organised a seminar Responding to homophobic and transphobic hate speech. Under the chairing of Vice-President of the LGBT Intergroup Sophie in 't Veld, several experts and policy-makers took the floor.
On 6 March 2013, the LGBT Intergroup met to discuss the free movement of same-sex couples and their families in the European Union.
