This track is an interview Ezra Auperle that founder of Sixty Four Films. I think this is a very interesting interview as we discuss how Ezra set up his business, how he had to change the structure, make redundancies and how he later sold his service business. Additionally how to build good relationships with staff and why it is important even after they stop working for your company. To give you some context, this interview was originally an Instagram Live so we jump straight into the conversation chatting about Ezra's European trip right before Covid kicks in. It quickly moves onto the business items Enjoy!

Jen Dugard launched Body Beyond Baby 12 years ago right after having her first child. Her business originally launched as a ‘Group Exercise with childcare’ program but Jen has since sold her group exercise business and pivoted into the Fitness Professional Education space delivering her accreditation 'Safe Return to Exercise' course to fitness professionals, and turning the Body Beyond Baby brand into a website that connects mums with accredited fitness professionals. The mummy market is a huge one but they are often not catered to correctly. This is a group who are learning how to keep another human alive, they are not getting enough sleep, they may not ben feeling like themselves. Jen saw a gap in the market and she delivered. Today we will talk to Jen about how to deliver an amazing product, how to niche your audience and also how she also became a sought after speaker at the likes of FILEX
This episode is an interview with Richard Bell, the founder of Business Leaderz, a multi-million dollar private advisory and investment firm with seven businesses under their banner. One of those businesses is Fit Stop which some of you are probably familiar with. Business Leaderz both start-up their own companies and also help others with investment. Rich also sits on the board of 6 major companies internationally and is a popular consultant due to his history of creating successful businesses, but also exiting successfully as well. Additionally, he has started a Business Leaderz Club which allows him to mentor start-ups. This conversation is about growing your business, investment, pivoting and of course it is quite topical to Covid-19 as well. Enjoy!
From being turned away from a cross-fit gym for being overweight, to losing 21kg in 12 weeks, building her own fitness business, her community supporting her and her business during COVID-19 and her learnings as an entrepreneur. I really enjoyed this chat with Nerida Bint, the founder of the Lissome gyms. We also have a really good chat about life and reflections in general such as self-esteem and learnings from how you have been raised as kids and the like. I hope you get as much out of this interview as I did. My microphone didn’t work very well in this interview which was disappointing but it is still pretty easy to hear www.lissome.net.au/ www.experthub.com.au
Today's guest I have worked with for quite a while as she used to be a writer for Women’s Health, needless to say that she not only is an environmental entrepreneur but also knows how to story tell. This conversation discusses productivity, business and most importantly sustainability for both businesses and individuals banish.com.au/ www.experthub.com.au
Today we speak to Adala Bolto, the founder of ZADI Fitness. The ZADI concept was born due to Adala spotting a gap in the market to build a strong female-focused brand that was results and technology-driven but also created an experience for clients. Studios are designed with ‘The millennial female experience’ in mind. The studios are set up specifically for females in a nightclub fitout with strong vibe and atmosphere. ZADI workouts are all developed by Exercise Scientist Damien Kelly so they are female-specific and ZADI have partnered with TechnoGym to create bespoke technology to help in a consistent member experience which will support the rollout of more studios and a way for clients track their results and stay connected. Adala certainly did not have this mapped out for her future, but instead, she took the opportunities that came her way and has achieved success off the back of hard work, spotting a gap in the market and being inspired by her own results and wanting to help others. In this episode, Adala talks us through how she got into the fitness industry, what she learned as the franchisee, and why she decided to take the leap to create her own studios. https://www.zadi.com.au/

Lucy Cousins is one of my favorite Journalists and I have been working with her ever since I started in the industry (so for a pretty long time)! Lucy is an editor with over 15-years experience. She has created her own site Urbansweat.com.au, which is a fitness guide to Sydney. She is currently the Wellness Editor for Marie Claire. She produces content for high- profile magazines, companies, brands, and websites and has also been the editor of HCF, Cleo, Dolly and Women’s Fitness. Needless to say, if anyone knows how to get health and wellness information out there across multiple platforms it’s Lucy.
SEO is a tricky topic in my personal opinion and something I really struggle with. That is why I have Ben Adams from Marzipan Media on hand to help me when I need it (which is all the time!). He has been particularly helpful with FITtopia, especially with helping me build my new website as I failed to build it properly the first time so I actually ended up hiring him to help me find new web developers. Ben is also great at ensuring the site is SEO friendly. In the interview, you will find out more about that.
The single best thing I did for my business was getting a bookkeeper. Honestly, the amount of stress I felt every time I received a letter about BAS, GST and super was just ridiculous, not to mention the hours upon hours that I had to spend constantly fixing the incorrect items that I had been logging into my accounting system. The truth is, I am good at PR and that is it. While you should definitely be across your business figures, having someone on hand who knows everything about salaries, super, tax, bas, gst has been a life changer for me. Angela is my bookkeeper so I asked her to answer a few questions.
Today I interviewed Veronika Larisova who is an Exercise Physiologist and nutritionist that I have admired for a long time. Veronika grew up in Czech so she has a lot of interesting goal setting and mindset techniques. In this interview, we discuss how Veronika got into ultra endurance running in her 30s despite hating running as a child, her goal of running a marathon on her 100th birthday, training elite athletes, martial arts, anti ageing, stoicism and more Unfortunately I decided to record this podcast on a new surface so the audio is not always perfect, but this interview is one of my favourites so I hope you like it anyway! eatlikeachief.com Instagram: @veronikalarisova www.fittopia.com.au
In this episode, I interview Tegan Haining, a personal trainer who has worked with the likes of David Beckham and Lara Stone, a fascia stretching expert and founder of the soon-to-be best-selling program, the 7- Day Quickie. Tegan is a former international model turned health + fitness expert who is now based in Sydney www.teganhaining.com www.fittopia.com.au
