As an ex-New Zealand Police Officer and Diplomatic Protection Officer for the Prime Minister who suffered from PTSD, anxiety, and major burnout Chris Chandler-Yates learned specific things not to do to perform at his maximum ability. He left the Police to find himself again and has gone on a journey to change the mental health of first responders and busy professionals. His teaching is simple: how to perform at a higher level by doing less. He does this using NLP and mindset changes to build a strong shift and foundation quickly. Sometimes we can throw wise thinking out there but we're not sure what the initial starting point was or why we needed the wisdom. Did we do the work to focus on the need and the why for the wisdom? We can say morning routines make you great, they look great on IG, but we don't always reveal behind the curtain of the challenges leading up to it. So let's dive into what I've taken away as critical points for The Five Uncomfortable Truths to Wisdom: 1. Overcome self-doubt to rebuild your self-confidence. 2. Selfish time management is healthy. 3. Responsibility means knowing when to accept help. 4. Giving your time is rewarding. 5. Self-discipline will help your mind get unstuck. This week, we're diving into a powerful episode on forgiveness. The power of this episode is solely within your desire to think about what this conversation means in your life and your ability to ask yourself where you're harboring unforgiveness. We're also not limiting this discussion to outbound forgiveness; rather, it's the time to consider where you need to let go and forgive yourself.  This might be the best 8-minute reboot your mind will have all week!   --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thefeedbackcodepodcast/support
Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. It's essentially your mental toughness. Grit, on the other hand, is a unique blend of passion and persistence. This week we're diving into resilience and grit. We'll be talking about how it plays out in your work teams, family and friendships.  5 Ways to Develop Grit and Resilience Be intentional in connecting with others who thrive in resilience. They will help you when you welcome them into your thought patterns. Reroute your negative thought patterns. Take the negativity captive when it approaches your mindset. Of course, easier said than done. Allowing a friend to transparently hear what you tell yourself is a great way to begin to identify healthy and unhealthy patterns. Change is constant. Allow yourself to embrace it. Catch your negative self-talk. It won't help you persevere if your negativity is your greatest enemy. Be compassionate to yourself. Grit and resilience are about growth. It's not overnight; rather, it's a lifelong journey. Allow others on the journey to help you develop Grit and Resilience.  Take the assessment with this GRIT scale.   Angela Duckworth's GRIT's TED Talk  Buy the Book: GRIT by Angela Duckworth  Let's Connect! thefeedbackcode@gmail.com IG: @thefeedbackcode thestephbarnes.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thefeedbackcodepodcast/support
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there is an art to strategic, smart questions that drive connection, accelerate connectivity and advance your empathy across relationships. You might feel blessed in your current position with excellent leadership that ignites inspiration, activates connection, and reminds you to bring your best self to the table. For others, you may be experiencing anything but that kind of leadership. So rather than waiting for a great leader to show up to demonstrate to you what it looks like, I want to dive into this episode with you and get you narrowing down on what great questions really look like in your life.  Resources:  Good Leaders Ask Great Questions by John Maxwell   Audible Follow: @TheFeedbackCode  Want to connect about an upcoming episode?  Let's Connect!  thefeedbackcode@gmail.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thefeedbackcodepodcast/support

Perspective is about seeing life from a particular viewpoint. When you're driving on the highway, more often than not, you'll see spots with binoculars or blue signs that say Viewpoint. There's a sign to indicate, pull off to the side so you can pause and enjoy the moment. We pull over, get out of the car, and say WOW - what a view. You might even say, let's take a moment to check out this viewpoint. You rush back in the car and keep going.   At one point, before our lives were meticulously curated, we followed along in social for all of life's moments. We were trained to follow along to see what our friends were doing at that exact moment. Regardless, you've learned that life is about moments. We have all learned this. We've come together, to share content about telling us to purge social, to heal with our trauma, to let it go, to rest, to practice self-care and to actually live our lives. However, you experience this - it's about distractions stealing what you're committed to in the moment.   Follow: @TheFeedbackCode #TheFeedbackCode Email: thefeedbackcode@gmail.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thefeedbackcodepodcast/support
This week, we're talking about how fear steals potential in life. Whether you've felt confident in the season of chaos or you've felt loneliness in the midst of vulnerability - there's an ongoing sense of fear. It's up to us to press past what it will try to steal from us. Fear will come for your relationships, your mindset, your friendships and your growth. Listen in, see what you can relate to this week, and make the choice to stop allowing fear to take over life's most precious moments. You were meant to experience more in life, not remain fearful. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thefeedbackcodepodcast/support
This week, we're talking about the power of interruption. This episode is going to encourage you to interrupt someone for good in the midst of this Global Pandemic. This is the episode that's going to remind you about the person that keeps popping into your mind. Text the person that’s on your heart and let them know you’re thinking of them. Call them. Leave a silly voicemail. Message them a video of your dog on Instagram. Ask them how they’re doing. I know we’re exhausted with this question because we assume the answer is the same, but some days are better than others. Someone just might need your voice, laugh, or energy today.  Follow: @TheFeedbackCode #TheFeedbackCode Email: thefeedbackcode@gmail.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thefeedbackcodepodcast/support
