Description
The Fellowship of St. Paul is a voluntary association of students, faculty, alumni, and friends at Sacred Heart Major Seminary who seek to follow St. Paul’s exhortation to “walk in the Spirit” (Gal 5:16; Rom 8:4). During the school year, the Fellowship hosts monthly events for prayer, teaching, and mutual support for life in the Spirit. These events are open to all.

Professor of Theology, teaching on Scripture, Theology, the Church Fathers, Evangelization, and Ecumenism at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, MI, 2000-present.Dr. Daniel Keating has been involved in student ministry for over thirty years, and regularly lectures to students in the United States and Europe. He lives in Lansing, Michigan, where he is a member of the Servants of the Word, a lay brotherhood dedicated to the work of evangelization and Christian unity.
Sr. Mary Peter is originally from Portland, Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University before beginning formation with the Sisters of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity. She professed first vows in 2005 and since then has served in Mexico, New Mexico, Belize, Seattle and currently is assigned to Holy Redeemer in southwest Detroit.
Deacon John Carlin is a transitional deacon for the Archdiocese of Detroit and the co-chair of the Fellowship of St. Paul. He speaks about “The Gift of Fellowship”, sharing his own testimony on how fellowship helped him discern God’s call toward priesthood.
Peter Herbeck is the vice president and director of missions for Renewal Ministries. For more than thirty years, he has been actively involved in evangelization and Catholic renewal throughout the US, Canada, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Peter is a co-host for the weekly television programs The Choices We Face and Crossing the Goal. He also hosts the daily radio show Fire on the Earth. He is a frequent conference speaker, has authored When the Spirit Comes in Power and When the Spirit Speaks, and has produced CDs and booklets about discipleship and life in the Spirit. Peter is involved with i.d.9:16, an outreach to Catholic young adults sponsored by Renewal Ministries. Peter and his wife Debbie have four children and 5 grandchildren (with two on the way), and reside in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Patrick is the Director of Encounter Ministries and host of the EWTN globally syndicated Encounter Radio. He has a passion and drive to see Catholics empowered to walk in the power and love of the Holy Spirit, carries a strong heart for seeing Christian unity manifest and speaks at conferences internationally. He was recently featured in “Fearless” a documentary on the Holy Spirit and Evangelization (http://fearlessdocumentary.net/).
Dr. Peter S. Williamson occupies the Adam Cardinal Maida Chair in Sacred Scripture at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan. He received his M.A. in Theology from Sacred Heart in 1995 and his S.T.D. in Biblical Theology from the Gregorian University in 2001. Dr. Williamson, a convert to the Catholic Church in 1972, is a married layman who has been involved for over 40 years in evangelization and pastoral ministry in the United States and abroad. He is the author of Revelation (2015) and Ephesians (2009) in the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture and coeditor of the series along with Dr. Mary Healy and Kevin Perrotta. He is also author of Catholic Principles for Interpreting Scripture: A Study of the Pontifical Biblical Commission's "The Interpretation of the Bible in the Church" (Loyola Press, 2002) and coeditor with Ralph Martin of John Paul II and the New Evangelization (revised edition, St. Anthony Messenger, 2006).
On July 2, 2016, the Franciscan Friars of the Holy Spirit, seven friars in all, were established by decree of the Most Rev. Thomas J. Olmsted as a Public Association of the Faithful in the Diocese of Phoenix. The friars have been called “to live conversion by a life in the Spirit that embraces the charismatic aspect of the life of St. Francis, ‘who sought above all things to seek the Spirit of the Lord and his holy operation.’ Their primary mission is to serve the Native Americans in the diocese from their base at the Gila River Indian Community at St John the Baptist Mission. But they also provide campus ministry support at Grand Canyon University and other schools in the diocese as well as evangelization initiatives through prayers groups, missions and conferences. Br. John of the Cross currently studies at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, MI.
Patrick Brennan is the Director of Youth Training for St. Paul Street Evangelization. In 2012, two years after graduation from law school, Patrick had a life changing encounter with the Holy Spirit that launched him into the adventure of knowing God and sharing Him with others. After three years as a diocesan seminarian, God recently called Patrick to help begin the St. Paul Society of Evangelists, a new religious community connected to the work of St. Paul Street Evangelization.
Fr. Patrick Gonyeau was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit in 2013. He is currently the parochial vicar at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Fr. Stephen Pullis is the Director of Evangelization, Catechesis, and Schools for the Archdiocese of Detroit. He is also a spiritual director at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. In this talk, Fr. Pullis explains the Foundational Conviction of Archbishop Vigneron's pastoral letter "Unleash the Gospel" and what living that Conviction means for every person in the Archdiocese.
Karen Ervin is a consecrated virgin residing in the Archdiocese of Detroit. On June 24, 2017, she was one of three women who became the first consecrated virgins in the Archdiocese. Karen currently serves as the principal of St. Catherine of Siena Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school located in Wixom, Michigan.
Dr. Dan Keating is a professor of theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Keating has been involved in student ministry for over thirty years, and regularly lectures to students in the United States and Europe. Fr. Mathias Thelen is a priest of the Diocese of Lansing and the pastor of St. Patrick Church in Brighton, MI. His life is a witness to the power of impartation to receive an increase in the anointing of the Holy Spirit and God’s desire to poor out his Spirit on on those who hunger and thirst for more! Father Mathias carries an incredible healing anointing and a desire to see every Catholic equipped to do the works of Jesus and help usher in the New Springtime of the Church.
Dr. Mary Healy is professor of Sacred Scripture at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and an international speaker on topics related to Scripture, evangelization, healing, and the spiritual life. She serves the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian unity as a member of the Pentecostal-Catholic International Dialogue. In 2014 Pope Francis appointed her as one of the first three women ever to serve on the Pontifical Biblical Commission.
Adam Jenke is the Vice President of St. Paul Street Evangelization (SPSE), a grassroots, non-profit organization, dedicated to responding to the mandate of Jesus to preach the Gospel to all nations by taking the Catholic Faith to the streets. He oversees the development of programs and resources for SPSE. As a public speaker he offers keynote talks and workshops on the New Evangelization. Adam has been featured on EWTN Television and Radio, Catholic Answers Live, the Radio Maria Network, the National Catholic Register, as well as in several other Catholic news publications.
Patrick Reis is the Director of the Encounter School of Ministry and is one of the leaders of Encounter Ministries. He was featured in the 2017 documentary “Fearless: A Documentary on the Holy Spirit and Evangelization.” He carries a strong prophetic anointing and has a heart to see the body of Christ raised up to hear God’s voice and demonstrate the kingdom of God in power and love.
