Inspired by the upcoming July 4th holiday, we decided to talk all about crazy competitions from around the world. We cover wiener dog races, computer competitions, food and of course sports. This episode is a pretty fun journey into the weird world of random competitions.
Down the rabbit hole! Where does that even come from? We’re not sure and you won’t learn it on this episode but one of us really went down one for their story! Today our stories are actually inspired by “urban legends”. Lendsey tells an amazing story about a baseball savant (TUNE IN for this one) and you’ll learn about what’s actually happening underneath the sidewalks of the concrete jungle.
Today we bring you two of our favorite stories of one hit wonders. Bonus we also explain what Juneteenth is and why you should celebrate it this year and every year!
Who doesn't love love? We all deserve it! On this one, we are telling you all about why you should celebrate June 12th every year and recognize Loving Day!
This episode is all about firsts. Lendsey tells the incredible story of Moses Fleetwood Walker, aka Fleet, and how he was a pioneer in baseball as the first Black major league baseball player in 1884. We also feature Lauren Simmons who made history in 2017 as the youngest female trader and second African American woman ever on the NYSE trading floor. Dial in fam!
We’re back, people! Took a bit of time off to reflect, refresh and educate. Still spreading positivity and good vibes ✌️Lendsey tells us about two of his favorite restaurants in KC, Ruby Jeans Juicery and Game Day Chicken Wings which are both Black owned. Plus giving you some other resources to help you support Black owned businesses in your community and beyond!

This dedicated to all the little guys & gals out there. This one is about the small dogs (and horses) in the fight. The ones that just won't give up! We feature a miniature dwarf horse named Martha who has an intense zest for life and found her forever home at a mini horse rescue ranch in MO. We then follow it up by talking about Lil' Earl Grey. He's a rescue bulldog hailing from NY by way of California. He's a self-dubbed ladies man and bone stealer and loves to dance. You don't wanna miss this episode! This episode is inspired by our niece, Sadie! We love you Sadiebug. Happy 17th Birthday!! https://www.instagram.com/lilearlgrey/ https://www.instagram.com/randrranchminis/
As the school year comes to a close in many parts of the US, we have teachers and students on our minds. We are finally putting out a long-overdue episode about some ways in which communities have come together to supports students & teachers alike. Stay tuned through the end to see you if agree with us on a highly debated topic... preschoolers wearing caps & gowns! Class of 2020, we can't wait to see what you have in store for us! We admire your resilience, perseverance, ingenuity, and innovation. Special shoutout to our nephew, Oliver, who is graduating high school this year. We are so proud!
This episode is sure to inspire! There are stories of sheer grit, pride, and determination. If for some reason the stories don't, then our excitement sure will. We discuss the 1996 story of the Magnificent Seven Olympic Gymnastics team and Mike Reasor who shot arguably the highest score in PGA history with 93 over par in 1974 at the Tallahassee Open.
Well this is exciting, people! 30 freaking episodes! We can’t believe it. For this one we each detailed 15 things that are getting us through quarantine. It’s a long one but listen through to the end for some of the best bits. Plus Lendsey counts his down backwards from 15 to 1. Tune in and celebrate with ya fam!!
We’ve got stories about sheer tenacity and dedication today. Get inspired to spread some cheer using a good old fashioned pen and paper. Stick with us to hear Lendsey tell a wild story about a sheep that lost it’s little way for 7 years but eventually finds its was home!
Alright... don't hate us cause we didn't keep to our 10 minute-ish promise on this one. However, if you want to let your worries go and take a little bit to refresh and laugh before heading into the weekend, then tune in to this one. We talk about owlettes, Waffle House and making new plans when your original ones go awry.
Ever written a review of your favorite bar or restaurant? Are you someone who leaves the positive or the negative ones? On this episode, we are giving restaurants that might have had some not so great Yelp reviews a chance at redemption. Will they get added to our list of neighborhood favorites or will the reviews be horrifically true?
Honestly the title says it all. We try our best to explain the origin of some of our favorite idioms to each other, but I’m not even sure we understand what idioms are... literally.
Our final episode dedicated to celebrating Mother's Day is all about our own mama. We tell you a few different anecdotes and stories about her that are sure to ignite some sentiment when thinking about your own maternal figures in your life. She's small, she's feisty, she's quick-witted and sharp as a tack. She's always looking out for us, on our side (even when we're wrong), and she would do anything to protect us. We are so happy to celebrate her on her day! Love to you, Mom, and all the mothers out there in our life!
It’s impossible to select just one mom that deserves to be featured and highlighted for how amazing they are. In this episode we wanted to highlight one woman who was the first ever mom to do something. We end with a listeners story about the power or motherly love. (Note: we experienced some technical difficulties with this recording so some of the audio overlaps in the middle and near the end. We’re working to make sure it doesn’t happen again!)
We all know that mothers deserve to be celebrated more than just one day a year, so we're doing a 3 part series to celebrate Mother's Day. We're kicking off part one with... you guessed it... a story about a dog mom named Remy. Dial this one up and listen with the whole family. It's a feel good story through and through. P.S. we're not telling you what to do but spay & neuter your pets!
Ever wondered the story about the first great war dog in the US military? What about what makes an NYC bodega a bodega? We’re doling our history lessons on the episode today. Tune in fam!
