Today I am discussing my stance on the racial inequality and injustice that we are seeing RIGHT NOW in the United States. My bottom line: I believe that Black lives matter and have committed myself to stand up against racism by educating myself, my family, and checking my biases daily. THIS IS NOT ME EDUCATING MY FOLLOWERS. One thing I have learned is that as a white woman, educating people about racism is not my lane. I am not an expert nor leader on the subject of racism or inequality. I plan to share resources that I've been learning from, but that is it. I am sharing with my listeners what I have been learning and how I am supporting + showing up for the Black community. I encourage you all to do the same. I QUIT MY JOB TO FOLLOW MY DREAMS! Ever since I worked at Anytime Fitness back in 2015-2017, I've wanted to be a small business owner. Certain events have led me to quit my most recent corporate gym job, and I am sharing some of those events with you in today's episode to give a perfect example of why so many personal trainers dislike working in corporate gyms. This is all I will be saying publicly about my most recent experience. Please know that despite my negative experience, I still strive to remain a moral and ethical personal trainer (and just overall human being), therefore I do not mention names, salaries, or any other specific details in this other than my side of the story and observations I had from being in this industry for over five years.
