The Follow Up with Ashley Nevel
Description
The Follow Up covers sports, health and politics through a deeper lens and provides a unique spin on content production and interviews. Host, Ashley Nevel, is an advocate for being unapologetically yourself and provides a positive platform for professionals who often get judged or misunderstood by mainstream media. This podcast follows up with your favorite sports personalities, motivational speakers, celebrities and more. Throughout Ashley's 10+ years in reporting, one thing she noticed about sports coverage was that the stories being covered and the questions being asked were too generic and repetitive. Content was lacking and there was so much more to a player than what he does in his sport. So, there she was fresh out of college, credentialed in Vegas for the NBA Summer League and covering high profile athletes, asking out of the box questions and creating viral content that caught the attention of many media outlets including SportsCenter, ESPN First Take and Fox Sports. The goal is, however, never to necessarily go viral. For Ashley, it's about providing dialogue that can help spark important conversations with some entertainment mixed in. Ashley's approach is always empathetic, charismatic and depending on the temperature in the room, sometimes humorous and sarcastic. She is an open book, even sharing some of her struggles and vulnerable moments in the sports world and life in general. Her straight forward approach allows those she's interviewing to let their guard down and feel comfortable talking about anything she throws at them. Ashley has had the opportunity of interviewing Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley, 3x NBA Champion and future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, and other notable athletes including Damian Lillard, Steph Curry, James Harden, Chris Paul and Devin Booker. She has also been featured on ESPN First Take twice getting over 3 million views and has worked with or been seen on various platforms including ESPN, ESPNU, Fox Sports, ESPN’s The Jump, First Take, CBS Sports, Bleacher Report, SLAM, House Of Highlights, Overtime, SB Nation, and more.
