Description

Potterhead married Harry Potter Virgin. After finishing the series together in Seasons 1-7, they're now tackling the larger, broader, and more complicated discussions about the Wizarding World and how it intersects with our own. Weird impressions, terrible singing, and (still) many tangents abound.

This week, we’re bringing you another of Amanda’s Fave Chaps (rebranding to Salty Chaps pending) and revisiting the beloved “Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs” from Prisoner of Azkaban. We're drawing all kinds of parallels to our ATYD journey, working through Kev's renewed shock about the prank that almost killed Snape, and somehow talking a LOT about Dumbledore in a chapter in which he doesn't even appear. Well we’re apparently not done yappin’ just yet, since we’re bringing you another weirdly-long episode. This time, we’re rounding up recent news from the Wizarding World. We’re covering the HBO series casting news, the full-cast audiobooks, the parks, Broadway, and more. Plus, our unsolicited opinions about the PR nightmare that is being involved with anything JKR profits from. Support the show Support FFH on Patreon: patreon.com/thefoxandthefoxhound Follow us! In this week’s jumbo-sized episode, we’re plodding our way through the next three pretty dense (and sometimes deeply uncomfy) chapters of ‘All the Young Dudes’. Join us as we extol the virtues of British name-calling, reminisce about our collective Doc Martens history, and genuinely wonder why prefects are not seen as narcs. Join us this week as we don our best handmade ‘A’ and ‘K’ sweaters, cast a couple of housework spells, and get cozy at The Burrow- that’s right, it’s the deep dive of The Weasleys! What do the Weasleys have in spades, even though their Gringotts vault is bare? What are the Weasleys’ shining moments (and their not-so-great ones)? And why are we feeling sorry for Ron? All this, plus a very bad robot voice. Support the show Support FFH on Patreon: patreon.com/thefoxandthefoxhound Follow us...
It’s time for the very first of Amanda’s Fave Chaps, and the premiere selection is Book 6’s “Snape Victorious”. We’re renewing our membership to the Snape Haters Club, theorizing about who exactly is conducting the Hogwarts Express, and having a moment for Emo Tonks. Join us! This week, we’re giddily returning to All the Young Dudes after FAR too long away from these rapscallions. These chapters have us reminiscing about the start of our relationship, singing REO Speedwagon multiple times, and ready to ride at dawn for Sirius. We’re back with a brand new season and feeling a bit revolutionary- so we’re discussing the first, premiere, OG Order of the Phoenix. What would the original Order’s chances of victory have been had the whole “Lily’s sacrifice rebound curse” thing never happened (probably not great let’s be honest)? What subtle advantage did the Death Eaters have? And where do your hosts land with secret societies overall? Support the show Support FFH on Patreon: patreon.com/thefoxandthefoxhound Follow ...
In the final episode of Season 11, we’re omitting our usual segments and enjoying a good ol’ fashioned meandering exploration into some random Wizarding World questions AND crowning the inagural Foxie House Cup Winner! Enjoy our exhausted ramblings, and we will be back with Season 12 on October 14th! Support the show Support FFH on Patreon: patreon.com/thefoxandthefoxhound Follow us! It’s time to head back to mid-70s Hogwarts and our beloved baby Marauders as we cover chapters 76-78 of ‘All The Young Dudes’. We’re discussing the rules of house parties that are playing DMX and getting emotional thinking about love, the word “firmly”, and our own Marauders. See you in there! This week, Kev has bestowed another Fave Chap in the form of Book 7’s “The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore”, and we are talking about shattered illusions, the perils of teenagerdom, how bad we feel for Hermione, and (unexpectedly) evil Bjork. It’s time to return to 1970’s Hogwarts and our favorite boys- The Marauders. We’re covering the very consequential chapters 73-75: exploring werewolf lore, Remus’s proclivity for muggle fighting tactics, and obsessive crushes. We’re FINALLY back, healthy (for the moment anyway), and taking a dark ol’ dive into the topic of the Death Eaters. What motivates people to join these fascists? Who are the most interesting Death Eaters? And what paralells do we see with reality (hint: A F***CKING LOT). Join us, we’re thrilled to be back! This week, we’re revisiting another of Kev’s Fave Chap(ter)s and this time he has chosen Book 5’s “Fight and Flight”, aka The One Where Umbridge Gets Got By The Centaurs. We’re talking about Hermione’s level of savage, Harry’s a-hole moment, and HAGGAAAARRRR. Join us! Support the show Support FFH on Patreon: patreon.com/thefoxandthefoxhound Follow us! Guess who’s back?! The one and only Kev Wil has triumphantly returned to the mic just in time to cover the next three chapters of ‘All the Young Dudes’, and what timing! Join us as we explore the softer side of Remus and his summer romances, dish out a whole bunch of points for a supersized Foxie House Cup, and give you the tl;dr of where Kev has been. We're so excited to share with you all this week our collaboration with a fellow Potter podcast- Retold: A Harry Potter Podcast! In this episode of Retold, we were thrilled to join the show's host Barry and discuss the final two chapters of Chamber of Secrets- and we hope you have as wonderful of a time as we did. We'll be back to regular programming next week, so enjoy this episode of Retold and listen to the rest of Barry's episodes while you're at it! Support the show Support FFH on Patreo...
Our medical woes may not be totally done, but we’re lucky enough to have our Manager of Mischief Josh Bailey step in and cover for Kev to discuss the Black Sisters! During this ADHD variety hour, we’re weighing compassion versus judgement for Narcissa, the two-dimensional nature of Bellatrix, and whether or not Andromeda shirked sisterly responsibilities. Plus, recasting this trio, short stories, and Greek myths! Support the show Support FFH on Patreon: patreon.com/thefoxandthefoxhound ...
This week, friends become enemies and allies become foes as we set the stage for Wizarding World Fight Club. Who would win in a duel between Fred and George Weasley? What about Tonks and Voldemort? We’re dissecting these completely unneccesary hypotheticals and bringing you all along for the ride! Support the show Support FFH on Patreon: patreon.com/thefoxandthefoxhound Follow us! It’s time to go back to 1970’s Hogwarts and spend some time with our favoritle little ne’re-do-wells of ‘All the Young Dudes’. There’s cover bands, there’s LOTS of underage substance use, and a big ol’ dose of teenage angst. We’re also singing a lot and talking way too much about Wahlburger. We’ve gotten our crazy travel-filled two weeks out of the way and are happily back with our Foxie Family! This week, we’re revisiting another of Kev’s Fave Chaps with Book 5’s ‘Hagrid’s Tale’. We’re talking giants, Hagrid’s hero-worship of Dumbledore, and the surprisingly on-the-nose politcal allegory contained in this chapter. See you in there! We’ve missed our lil’ Marauders way too much, so it’s high time we return to the Wizarding World of the 1970s and the monolith fanfiction that is ‘All the Young Dudes’. Believe us when we say, these three chapters were a DOOZY of a read. While we would love to justify the length of this episode by saying these chapters simply lead to that much discussion, there are in fact many tangents (so out of character for us). Reminder: we will be back with new episodes on June 10th! Support the s...

but lupin was not put there to protect Harry - i thought he admktted that theory down before Goblet of Fire, but its somehow popped up again. He just happened to be a good teacher. I also wouldn't say he "saved harry" either.
