In this episode of the Fully Charged Show Podcast, we shine a spotlight on the unsung hero of lithium-ion batteries: Graphite. As the key component of a battery’s anode, graphite plays a critical role in powering EVs and energy storage solutions. However, with over 95% of the world’s graphite refined in China, diversifying the supply chain is more important than ever. We delve into how companies like Quebec-based Nouveau Monde Graphite (NMG) are stepping up, promising carbon-neutral graphite—an ambitious goal for an industry reliant on mining and refining raw materials. The company, backed by supply agreements with GM and Panasonic, is working to determine whether the battery supply chain can truly go green and make sustainable mining a reality. Joining us is NMG CEO and founder Eric Desaulniers to explore these challenges and opportunities. Enjoy this deep dive into the future of sustainable battery materials!  @fullychargedshow   @EverythingElectricShow This podcast was brought to you by OVO's Charge Anywhere. In this episode of the Fully Charged Show Podcast, we dive into The Crown Estate's pivotal role in the UK’s renewable energy transition. As custodians of the seabed surrounding England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, they’re powering 11 million homes with offshore wind energy. Imogen explores how their latest initiatives, like the Marine Delivery Routemap, are tackling grid bottlenecks, speeding up consents, and finding harmony between environmental conservation and renewable expansion. Gus Jaspert, Managing Director for Marine at The Crown Estate, breaks down the UK’s energy puzzle—from wrangling stakeholders like NESO and Ofgem to resolving spatial clashes with fisheries and shipping. With a need for over 120GW by 2030 requiring a tripling of wind energy deployment, how will the race to net-zero electricity unfold? In this episode of the Fully Charged Show Podcast, Robert explores the world of tyres with Gunnlaugur Erlendsson, CEO and Founder of ENSO. With billions of tyres in use globally, most made from fossil-fuel-derived synthetic rubber, the environmental impact is staggering. Tyre wear releases six million tonnes of microscopic particles annually—accounting for 28% of primary microplastics in our oceans—and contributes more to air pollution than vehicle tailpipes. ENSO is taking on this challenge with innovative, low cost, durable, high-efficiency tyres specifically designed for electric vehicles (EVs). These advanced tyres produce 35% less pollution and can also extend EV range, setting a new standard for sustainability in the automotive industry. On this episode of the Fully Charged Show Podcast, Robert welcomes Texan Sharon Wilson. Sharon began her career in the oil & gas industry but is now a leading figure in "methane hunting." As a certified optical gas imaging thermographer, she travels across the U.S., exposing the invisible methane pollution from oil and gas facilities. Sharon uses this technology to educate policymakers, media, and industry leaders through tours. Sharon's dedication to documenting methane emissions and advocating for environmental accountability arose from a personal experience. Unaware of the environmental impact, she purchased 42 acres in Wise County, Texas, bordering the LBJ National Grasslands. Unbeknownst to her, George Mitchell was experimenting with fracking techniques in the area. Witnessing firsthand the devastating effects of fracking, with air turning brown and water turning black, she documented her experience on her blog, texassharon.com. This experience led Sharon and her son to relocate to Denton, Texas, seeking a cleaner environment. However, this move ultimately fueled her passion for environmental advocacy. In 2010, she joined Earthworks' Oil & Gas Accountability Project, making it her life's work. Enjoy Sharon's incredible story!    Check out our YouTube Channels: Everything Electric Show - https://www.youtube.com/@EverythingElectricShow Fully Charged Show - https://www.youtube.com/@fullychargedshow   Why not come and join us at our next Everything Electric expo: https://everythingelectric.show   Support our StopBurningStuff campaign: https://www.patreon.com/STOPBurningStuff   Become a Fully Charged SHOW Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/fullychargedshow   Become a YouTube member: use JOIN button above   Buy the Fully Charged Guide to Electric Vehicles & Clean Energy : https://buff.ly/2GybGt0   Subscribe for episode alerts and the Fully Charged newsletter: https://fullycharged.show/zap-sign-up/   Visit: https://FullyCharged.Show   Find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/fullychargedshw   Follow us on Instagram: https://instagram.com/fullychargedshow   To partner, exhibit or sponsor at our award-winning expos email: commercial@fullycharged.show    Everything Electric CANADA - Vancouver Convention Centre - 6th, 7th & 8th September 2024 Everything Electric (UK) SOUTH - Farnborough International - 11th, 12th & 13th October 2024 Everything Electric AUSTRALIA - Sydney Showground - 7th, 8th & 9th March 2025  Everything Electric (UK) LONDON - ExCel - 16th, 17th & 18th April 2025 Everything Electric EUROPE, USA & (UK) NORTH - dates for 2025, 2026 & 2027 to be confirmed

Great episode as usual, but profoundly shocking that a forward thinking podcast like this glosses over the huge health hazard of wood burning stoves. The stove industry has learned from the fossil fuel industry spreading disinformation about the toxicity of their products. Even the supposed eco stoves are 18 times more polluting than a diesel truck. That supposed lovely smell is benzene

Here in Alberta, Canada, the provincial government just wants to keep burning fossil fuels, they complain about not wanting solar farms, but will only allow homeowners to only put up enough solar for their own consumption, no off peak metering, no rebate if you buy an EV. I'm beginning to have a rant, like you, Robert. love the show. I'm a long-time subscriber from Western Canada.

Funny thing is for 9 months, you hear the "informed by Facebook et al" moan "you shouldn't load the grid during the day. It can't cope!" and the less informed EV users will comply by charging at night... 😋

Ever heard of a little place called India, Robert? I know that at 1 point something billion people, it's an easy one to miss, but they do drive on the left too mate. You might want to rethink how many people in the world actually drive on the left. There are quite a few of us.

No glass milk bottles in the UK? That's a market waiting to be filled. Been back here in NZ for some time now

You can't get your milk in glas bottles in the UK? Wow. We even have machines that dispense milk into whatever you want to hold under the tap here in N.Z. There's nothing stopping you from filling up a gumboot if you really feel like a boot full of milk. Glass milk bottles are back to stay here.
