Ian and Jared sit down at the Featured table and take a look at the worker placement comic book publishing game, Age of Comics: The Golden Years, published by Lirius Games.
Age of Comics: The Golden Years Board Game Description from the Publisher
Age of Comics: The Golden Years Age of Comics: The Golden Years is a worker placement management game in which players will run a publishing company during the golden age of comics (1938-54).
In each round the players, in turn, must position 4 meeples (workers called editors). They can choose 4 out of 6 spaces, called publishing tasks. There are 6 publishing tasks in total that can be performed in any order and lead to 6 specific player actions: hire, develop, ideas, print, sales, and royalties. The game lasts 5 rounds. The objective of the game is to accumulate the highest number of fans, make money by publishing comics and create the best portfolio of comic books. There are three main ways to accumulate fans:
being the first to publish a specific genre and specializing in it;
publishing comic books with specialized creatives;
collecting orders on the map.
Throughout the game, a fan chart will track the number of fans accumulated by the comics and will award victory points based on the players’ ranking at the end of every round. In the last round, the number of fans is converted into victory points. The money accumulated is instead divided by 4.The winner is the player who scores the most victory points (VP from now on, represented by a star icon)
at the end of five rounds. VP are awarded both during and at the end of the game.

Faith and Jared take a look at the tile laying and set collection board game, Donut Shop, published by 25th Century Games.
Donut Shop Board Game Description from the Publisher
As the newest hires at the local bakery, you have been assigned to work with the hottest selling items - the donuts. Your job is twofold: to arrange the donuts in the display case, and to put together boxes to fulfill customer orders. You’ll also want to make an extra push to sell donuts with sprinkles and coffee, as these can earn you extra cash. Sell your delicious treats better than any of the other employees, and you’ll be walking home with the most money at the end of the day.
In Donut Shop, players will be taking turns placing Donut Tiles in the Display Case, earning points based on how many donuts of the same type are connected. Players then have the opportunity to box groupings of donuts in the Display Case in order to fulfill customer requests from their Order Cards and earn extra money.
Bonuses can also be earned from special orders for coffee donuts with sprinkles. At the end of the game, the player that has earned the most money from their donut placement and order fulfillment wins!

Ian and Jared sit down at the Featured Table to look at the worker placement game, Rock Hard 1977.
Rock Hard 1977 Description from Devir
It's 1977. You're an up-and-coming musician, dreaming of making it big with your band. Over the next few months you'll rehearse, play gigs, write songs, and promote your band. With careful planning and a little luck, you'll earn the most fame and become the best new artist of the year.
Designed by Jackie Fox (member of the 1970s rock band "The Runaways", four-time Jeopardy! champion, and designer of the narrative adventure trilogy The Adventures of the Chubby Slugz) and illustrated by Jennifer Giner, Rock Hard: 1977 allows games for groups of between 2 and 5 players, from 14 years old, in games lasting about 45-90 minutes.
Rock Hard: 1977 is played over a maximum of nine rounds, each representing a typical day of one month in 1977, from April to December. You win the game by accruing the most fame. How? Increasing reputation, chops and songs; achieving production, performance, and publicity bonuses; getting record deals and earning royalties; playing concerts; and hanging out at the hottest after-hours spot. Ready to live like a rock star?

Ahoy there! Faith and Jared are at the kid's table today as we discuss the push your luck, crew building game Captain Flip.
Game Overview
Captain Flip is a family-friendly strategy game that combines push-your-luck mechanics with crew-building elements. In this game, players take on the roles of pirate captains aiming to recruit the best crew and collect the most treasure.
Each turn, players draw a tile from a bag. They can either keep the tile as it is or flip it to reveal the other side. Once flipped, the decision is final.
Players place the tiles on their personal boards, strategically positioning crew members to maximize their scores. Different crew members, such as navigators, cannoneers, and cartographers, offer various benefits and scoring opportunities.
The game involves a significant element of risk, as players must decide whether to keep a tile or take a chance by flipping it. This adds excitement and tension to each turn.
Completing columns on the board can earn players bonuses. The game ends when a player’s board is mostly filled, and the player with the highest score wins.

Anna and Jared discuss the rock'em sock'em robot battling deck builder, Robot Quest Arena by White Wizard Games. Do you remember the 90s? Late nights on Comedy Central watching really intelligent nerds who built murderous machines to battle it out against each other all in the names of Fame and Glory!?! Maybe you watched a great movie like Real Steel with Hugh Jackman and have always dreamed of battling it out against another robot. Regardless of how you got here, let's sit down at the table and discuss Robot Quest Arena.
Game Overview
Robot Quest Arena is a 2-4 player deckbuilding battle arena board game. You’ll pilot battle bots, powered by various cards that you play on your turn from your deck. Batteries grant energy for movement, weapon activation, and/or purchasing new cards for your deck. Weapons act as...well... weapons. Function cards are your wild card customization of your bot to gain the advantage. As you navigate the arena’s obstacles, blast and smash opponents, and lay traps, tension at the table reaches an all time high. Destroyed bots respawn each round, ensuring non-stop action! In the end, it's not about how many bots you kill, but the full measure of destruction and mayhem that you caused along the way!

THEME! RANDOMNESS! These two concepts collide in an epic battle of control over the fun that's had at the table. Ian and Jared sit down at the Featured Table to discuss the Star Wars wild west fame claiming game, Star Wars: Outer Rim.
Game Overview
Star Wars: Outer Rim immerses players in the gritty, lawless edges of the Star Wars galaxy. Players take on the roles of bounty hunters, mercenaries, and smugglers, navigating the Outer Rim in search of fame and fortune. But don't be fooled into thinking this is all fun and games. After all, you are dealing with the Scum & Villainy of the universe! Players will need to make tough decisions about which bounties to pursue, which factions to align themselves with, which paths to take, and above all else, what ship to fly. Will you work your way up to buying the Millenium Falcon? Maybe you raid Lando's closet and collect his precious cloak collection? Or you could upgrade your armory and be the most feared in all the galaxy? All of these choices and more lay at your fingertips.
But does this game live up to the vastness of the Star Wars Universe? Or does it crumble under the weight of randomness in disappointing dice rolls, card flips, and other elements that are just out of reach of player control? Find out as we discuss!
