Dr. Ahmed Raslan, a board-certified neurosurgeon, discusses treatment options for people suffering from epilepsy. There are a number of different treatment options available for people with epilepsy, with the most common being medication. In some cases, surgery may be an option where surgery can be used to remove the part of the brain that is causing the seizures. Dr. Raslan also discusses the risks and benefits associated with different types of epilepsy surgeries.
