When I was just starting out, I blogged Monday – Friday for YEARS… And while it’s admirable or even shocking, looking back those blogs weren’t really doing much for me. In fact, they were sucking up my time and not getting me anywhere closer to my goals. I’d share a new blog post once on Facebook, and then move on to creating the next. It wasn’t until I started creating content with intention and a plan that I started to see REAL results. The solution isn’t creating more and more and more. It’s not spending the majority of your time willing your creative juices to crank out just a few more sentences that hopefully *fingers crossed* make it in front of a potential client… The solution is tied to a simple purpose behind each piece of content you push out. Results don’t just come from a little call-to-action at the end of your blog post. They come from creating with intention, certainty, and confidence, and you can do that when you have a plan. This episode shows you how. GOAL DIGGER FB COMMUNITY: GOAL DIGGER INSTAGRAM: GOAL DIGGER SHOWNOTES:
From cookbooks to TV, magazines and more, Candice Kumai is a well-known name in wellness. In fact, she’s known as the Golden Girl of Wellness. She beautifully weaves her advice for healthful living into stories about her life and heritage, all with a mission to inspire a new generation of wellness lovers and creative artists.  I have so many questions for Candice. What has the journey been like for her? What messy middle moments taught her the most? And what has she learned through exploring her culture and lineage that played a role in finding her purpose? Plus, Candice shares the thousands of years old art of Kintsugi, and it just may make you rethink the broken pieces of your story. Press play. I believe that blogging isn’t just important for your business to run to its fullest potential… it’s necessary. But the MAIN issue I see entrepreneurs facing is just knowing what to write about. Writer's block is real and there’s only so much to cover in your area of expertise, right? Nope! I want to share with you the things that you ACTUALLY need to be blogging about. Yes, some of this will fall within your business niche, but not always. This system has allowed me to blog 4 to 5 days a week for the 9 years I’ve been running a business and never run out of topics to write about. Plus, it allows you to create the right content that your audience wants and needs from you, so that they keep coming to you as the trusted expert in your arena. That’s something worth blogging about… Let’s jump in! GOAL DIGGER FB COMMUNITY: GOAL DIGGER INSTAGRAM: GOAL DIGGER SHOWNOTES:
Myisha T. Hill wears a lot of titles -- single mom, a speaker, an activist for Mental Health, an author… That list continues on, and yet she’s found a way to do those things well, and even thrive in each area.  You might quickly think, wow, she’s got balance figured out, but that’s not what she teaches. Myisha is a life synergist, and through her work she debunks the myth of work/life balance, leading her students to find SYNERGY instead. If burn out, overwhelm, and confusion seems to narrate your life or business, this interview with Myisha will explore why you might be feeling that way, and how you can navigate out of it. Myisha is also a guide for those navigating their anti-racism journey, and she shares actionable strategies for starting or continuing this important work. Join me as I share a lot of how I’ve been processing, digging in, learning, unlearning, and doing the necessary work against racism over the past few weeks. I am opening up to share my honest questions, thoughts, fears, and future plans during this time.
In the early days of my brand launching was more of a battle than a sweet cakewalk. Nowadays, we’ve got launching down to a T. We don’t have all the answers -- OH, we are still learning so much every single week and through every single launch. But truthfully it comes down to a lot of little things, and ONE major thing that makes the key difference. I want to talk today about the pre-launch. I believe pre-launch, the period of time before you make the actual offer available or open the cart, is the make or break for a launch and the goal you want to hit. This is my exact framework for pre-launch… What I do in the days and weeks leading up to launch to make THAT time way more manageable, light, and rewarding.   GOAL DIGGER FB COMMUNITY: GOAL DIGGER INSTAGRAM: GOAL DIGGER SHOWNOTES:
Arlan Hamilton is a champion for underestimated voices. With her company Backstage Capital, she has invested over $10 million in over 130 companies with underrepresented founders; those who identify as women, People of Color, or LGBTQ. Arlan herself identifies as all three, and she was sleeping on an airport floor when she knew she had to do something about the fact that no one in Venture Capital looked like her. In this interview, Arlan digs into the catalyst moments that lead her to the world of Venture Capital, why she doesn’t believe in Imposter Syndrome, and what makes a strong pitch when it comes to raising capital for your company. Press play right now and don’t forget to pick up Arlan’s new book, “It’s About Damn Time” at your local bookstore. GOAL DIGGER FB COMMUNITY: GOAL DIGGER INSTAGRAM: GOAL DIGGER SHOWNOTES:
Please hit play for a personal and timely update from Jenna. As we move forward with our business content, please expect me to infuse content that is candid, sharing some of the things I am experiencing and learning in this time. This will be me removing the leader hat and leaning into being the student. I only ask that you stick around and learn with me, if you’re ready. Stay tuned as we adjust in forward motion. Now, onto the show. When it comes to marketing, so many business owners are getting it wrong. They are so focused on social media and when social media is your ONLY marketing strategy, you’re building your business on borrowed land. You don’t own the followers, you can’t control the platform, you’re not in control of the changes, shifts, or the experience people are offered. Business owners should have two main priorities -- that’s it -- two. You should be starting or growing your email list and the sole focus of your social media is to be the handshake, the connection creator, that invites people off of the platforms and on to said list. Let's focus on your email list. The goal of my social media channels is to guide people to my email list so that I can serve them well in their inbox and eventually invite them to join a paid program or take advantage of an offer. That’s it. Digital marketing simplified, so let’s dive into all things starting your email list. GOAL DIGGER FB COMMUNITY: GOAL DIGGER INSTAGRAM: GOAL DIGGER SHOWNOTES:
I said that I would be amplifying the voices. Here are the women who I have already featured on the podcast who are experts in their fields. Please re-engage with them and their content. So I got a Peloton bike late last year, and I have to be totally candid here, I wasn’t sure if I’d fully buy into it. I knew I wanted a new way to move and care for my body so I followed the rave reviews of some friends and got this machine delivered to my house and vowed to just give it a shot. Now let me be totally candid again — It’s not necessarily the bike that keeps me coming back every day. It’s this community of people cheering me on and sending virtual high fives, and maybe most of all, it’s the instructors. Ally Love is one of my favorites. Attending one of her classes is this spiritual experience, like I hop off that seat ready to take on ALL the things with positivity and light. Ally is a master at building community and leading people to improve their lives not only through moving their bodies, but changing perspectives and pushing limits. In this episode, we discuss how she chooses positivity, why she believes women can have it all (if they know what ‘all’ means for them), and what the true meaning of balance is. Press play! I’m sharing the 11 simple ways to start thinking like an entrepreneur -- because if I know one thing, it’s that entrepreneurs are often born of a need that only their individual gifts, personality, and experiences can fill. No one is BORN an entrepreneur -- you become one over time and grow into that role like your big sister’s old hand me down shoes you used to wear. It starts out weird and uncomfortable, and then with time and experience, it becomes a natural way of being. It’s not an overnight thing, and it doesn’t happen by just creating an LLC or purchasing a domain. So even if your idea isn’t fully fleshed out or you’re not totally sure if you could handle running your own business, let’s walk through 11 easy ways to start thinking, believing and acting like an entrepreneur. Oh, how I have waited with anticipation for the moment you’d get to meet and experience this woman in full force. Brooklyn Wagner is high at the top of my list of both funniest and wisest people I know, not to mention she has a massive gift of copywriting that makes emails feel like a warm hug from a BFF.  I’ve seen such a transformation in her since she started two years ago, and I think hers is a story you’ll hear yourself in, in one way or another. Press play to hear what she’s learned by doing scary things, how she tackled the inner work that lead to her greatest transformations, and how she gives herself a pep talk with the help of Shania Twain and Dolly Parton. I started to see a trend recently. More and more people are starting podcasts during their social isolation time, and it surprised me at first...But then it all made sense. Practically the entire world is at home right now, and while lives are still busy and we still have responsibilities, it’s opened up this opportunity for some to have the time to dream again. And we’ve all got stories to share (maybe now more than ever) so a podcast? Well, it’s the perfect medium to get them out into the world. So if you’re one of those people who’s had this inspiration and pull to start your own podcast, this episode is created for you today, my friend. One of my favorite shows of all time has to be Laguna Beach and I still watch all of the spinoffs that continue to grace our television screens to this day. So when the name Lo Bosworth rolled through my inbox I did a double take. THE Lo Bosworth wants to come on MY show, when I’ve been watching hers for years? It’s so fun to see how Lo Bosworth leveraged that platform and created something of her own. But it wasn’t a straight line from a TV career to running her women’s wellness company. Her career is rich with learning curves and pivots, and honestly, I’m not sure you’ve heard this part of Lo’s storyline before. She’s the reality star we adored, now innovating for women’s wellness in ways you’re going to LOVE.  GOAL DIGGER FB COMMUNITY: GOAL DIGGER INSTAGRAM: GOAL DIGGER SHOWNOTES: Love the show? My business coach gave me a piece of advice that has forever changed how my business functions. I actually used to manage a team of 20 without any sort of system or task list. My days used to feel frantic and frazzled… But now, I’m focused and freed up, and it was all thanks to implementing his advice. In this episode, I share how we use SOPs in my business, and more importantly, WHY they’re so important and HOW you can begin to create them for yourself, too. Have you heard of tapping? It’s a technique that mixes meditation and psychology and acupressure to manage everything from stress and anxiety to limiting beliefs and more. Maybe it sounds woo-woo on the surface to you right now, but the research behind tapping is enough to make even my analytical mind curious. And maybe you’re wondering too, could tapping be for me? Jessica Ortner is here to teach us the world of tapping, the science behind it all, the massive benefits of the technique, and even lead us through a 5 minute exercise on air. It can feel awkward and narcissistic and exhausting to try and show up on Instagram in the middle of a crisis and it can leave us second guessing every post… You might’ve found yourself wondering these same things over the past month or so: am I being insensitive? Am I invoking fear or panic? Am I an expert in this subject? Am I adding something truly helpful to the noise of social media right now? Just because the world is paused around us doesn’t mean we don’t yearn for the same connection, joy, interactions, and realness that “normal” life brings about. In fact, it’s my belief that we need to share these little intricate normalcies NOW more than ever. If you’ve been finding yourself tiptoeing around social media these days, not sure where to start or what to say, and how to say it, this episode’s for you. If you want to talk about putting in the work to make your dreams happen, you have to talk to my friend, Jamie Kern Lima. You might be wearing one of her products from IT Cosmetics right now… But before the billion dollar brand was even a thing, she was a TV news anchor struggling with sensitive skin who could never find a product that worked for her.  She created a cosmetics brand that would go on to be more than just products, but an inspired community of millions of women who share their stories of overcoming their struggles with confidence and self-worth. Jamie is a powerhouse business woman, an inspiring speaker, and warm spirit who is on the Goal Digger Podcast to talk all about how she built her brand from the ground up. I can’t wait for you to hear the scrappy moves she pulled in her early days, all the way to the biggest lesson she learned when her vision was challenged. Dean Graziosi is my business coach, and he and I are very different. We approach almost all aspects of business and life differently, but sitting down with people who aren’t like you is exactly how you grow. We have this friendly banter as an odd couple in business, and I love learning from him. I’ve shared conversations with Dean before on the Goal Digger Podcast, but I hope you don’t mind me opening up my little vault of content to share with you a conversation we recorded together with a vision of launching our own podcast together. The files have been hanging out, waiting for a plan, and I thought now was a perfect time to let you listen in on a different chat with my coach. We broach the often controversial topic of money and happiness, and Dean shares his views on how the two are connected. I talk about my transition from corporate life to entrepreneurship, and why you might not ever get the permission you’re seeking to make a big jump in your life.  GOAL DIGGER FB COMMUNITY: GOAL DIGGER INSTAGRAM: GOAL DIGGER SHOWNOTES: Love the show? With social media, there’s one constant we can count on -- Change. Doesn’t it seem that just as we’ve got it all figured out, the powers-at-be switch it up again? But never fear because my team and I get to work breaking down new strategies to share with you, so you can get on top of the changes faster. The most recent change we’ve been navigating? Pinterest.  A few months ago we received embargoed information from Pinterest in partnership with Tailwind that stated the way the algorithm prioritized and distributed content was changing. We’ve been in contact with them behind-the-scenes, working through the changes, and have been testing strategies over the last several months to be able to share them with you! The good news? We have seen incredible growth in our stats (like, numbers in the millions). So what does it mean for YOU and what key things can you incorporate into your Pinterest strategy for the updated algorithm? Press play to find out. Good tips, but I don't think you are following this tips yourself. I had to unsubscribe from your email list twice, because it was just too much, email after email! And most if them were sell, sell, sell... too pushy! There needs to be a balance. I want an email which I want to read and enjoy.
