A "live" show, featuring Mike Farley, Good King Hal, entertaining people on Zoom with stories of his 17+ years in the tights and codpiece of his Henry VIII costume.  It's funny, silly, there is name-dropping, a few rude words, some very muffled recorder music towards the end, and little more.  There were a good 20+ listening in, but all were muted, aside from the lady who near the start very loudly asks her husband if he wants a mince pie.  Now THAT'S showbiz folks.  To listen to the show, people paid £5 a head via PayPal (the King's email address for payment is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk), or you can mak a donation to Good King Hal via his Patreon Page Michael Farley is creating Podcasts, Videocasts, Movies, Videos and live shows | Patreon and stop this King from becoming destitute.  Hope you enjoy it. ONE HOUR OF FUN!  With an occasional very mild sweary bit. Honest.
A lovely little chat betwixt Good King Hal and the deeply lovely, hugely talented and always a pleasure to talk to, Jennie Turner-Maskell.  We cover everything from Tudor frocks, buxom wenches, The Dominion Theatre in London's West End and the Lechlade Festival.  If you wish to make a donation to anything Good King Hal does, please find him on Patreon, or simply donate via PayPal at good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk
We're back!  Good King Hal has a really funny and good chat with top Knight-in-waiting, swordsman, Knight Marshall, Head Hunter and fencing master, Mr Tim Wood.  27 minutes of aural bliss!  What is not to like?  Who would, Tim Deffo Wood.  If you have enjoyed this podcast and want to know more about Good King Hal, the please go to his website www.goodkinghal.co.uk or follow him on Facebook.  If you would like to make a donation to an impoverished King, then you can via PayPal to his email address which is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk no amount too small, no amount too big.  Dig deep for your Tudor King!  Thanks to all those that have donated so far.  You know who you are.
In a state of national lockdown, and with no one to interview, the King interviews himself via some questions he was asked by a national magazine a few years back.  Hope you like this and enjoyed it and were even entertained.  Remember you can book Henry to visit your school (lockdown permitting) by contacting him via his website www.goodkinghal.co.uk or you can book him for Zoom or Teams for online live shows for your pupils or group.  Just email him at good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk  Or if you like what you've heard and would like to offer some money as a donation to a deeply impoverished King (no permanent Tudor gigs since last March!!!) then you can donate via PayPal and the email address good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk  no donation too small or too big.  All gratefully received.
The King is delighted to bring to you all the knowledge and skills you require to make your very own, top notch Television historical documentary!  Learn from the very best!
For episode seven of the Joe Biden of historical and humorous podcasts, the effervescent Good King Hal is in conversation with costume designer, heritage and history fan, and friend of Rochester Cathedral, Cornwall based Annie Lucas!   We cover topics like historic clothing, firing corks at vergers, and appalling jokes aimed at Anne of Cleves.  It's all here folks, and more.  If you enjoy this podcast and would like to donate (please!) to Good King Hal (remembering he hasn't worked properly since MARCH) then please do on PayPal via his email which is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk  No matter how small a donation it will help. THANK YOU!
The sixth episode of this on going juggernaut of a historical podcast, this time with Good King Hal deep in conversation with one of his bestest  mates in the whole wide world, namely Matthew Applegate, long time stalwart of the National Trust, military button collector and man of Somerset.   Listen, enjoy, share, share and share again, and don't forget if you would like to make a donation to an impoverished Tudor impersonator, I would be most grateful.  You can do this via PalPal and his email address which is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk

Quake in awe at the age of some of the jokes.
Today's episode of Good King Hal's Pod Piece Podcast features the King in deep conversation with film maker, re-enactor, history buff and teacher, Tom Hudson, with added background noise from his two and a half year old daughter!   We talk about all sorts of things, Roman Armour, Hever Castle, archery, and everything else in between.  It's a fun, interesting hysterically historical natter between two old friends, but fascinating as well.  If you have enjoyed this or any other of Good King Hal's Pod Pieces, then please feel free to make a donation to an impoverished King via his Pay Pal account, which you can pay into using his email address which is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk  and he will thank you personally if you do.
Today, the King is delighted to be in conversation with one of his best friends in the whole wide world, namely the hairy, cuddly, beer drinking, all round Viking about town and history man through and through, Mr Ian Weston.   I first met Ian in 1985 and we have been great friends ever since.  He was even my Best man when I got married in 2000.  He introduced me to my wife and also introduced me to the idea of making a living out of history.   He runs the company Portals to the Past with his wife Sue, and they live in a beautiful old thatched cottage near Stowmarket in Suffolk.  In our chat we cover being smashed below the plimsoll line by children with toy swords, why Italy is such a fabulous place to visit,  how to annoy Geri Horner from the Spice Girls, why Janina Ramirez is the perfect woman and all with added background noises of Ian's wife washing up and my teenage son upstairs screaming into his Xbox while playing with friends.  This is a podcast on the edge. If you have enjoyed this, maybe you're Janina Ramirez, and if you've been inspired or intrigued by this podcast and would like to make a donation to the rapidly emptying coffers of Good King Hal, you can make a donation via Pay Pal to the King via his email address which is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk   He will forever love you, as might his Bank Manager, who's patience and hair line are rapidly diminishing.
Today, on episode 3 of the first season of Good King Hal's Pod Piece podcast, Mike Farley, top Henry VIII look-a-like and all-England Fruit Bottling Champion 1982, is in conversation with Tudor uber-fan, frequent Tudor Queen and all round lovely person, Louise Hunter Hall.  Louise is known and loved throughout the Tudor history World as "Tudor Lou", and her enthusiasm and depth of knowledge of all things Tudor is legendary.  She and the King discuss Audley End, Hever Castle, Jane Boleyn, York and everything and anything in-between.   Really and fun and entertaining podcast! If you have enjoyed Good King Hal's efforts to entertain and enlighten you, and feel you would like to donate to his efforts to stop him and his family ending up in the Work House, then please make a donation to him via his Pay Pal which you can do through his email address which is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk  He and his bank manager would be most grateful.  More podcasts to come!  Stay tuned.
In this episode, hopelessly under employed King Henry VIII look-a-like and international chanteuse, Mike Farley is in conversation with author, Tudor Queen and all-round wonderful person, Karen Bowman.  She has written three books "Essex Boys", "Essex Girls: The Scandalous History of the Women of Essex", and "Corsets and Codpieces: A Social History of Outrageous Fashion", and I can thoroughly recommend all of them.  She is entertaining, charming and really fun to chat with, I do hope you enjoy it. Once again, if you have enjoyed my pod piece, and would like to make a donation to a poor impoverished Tudor impersonator down on his luck and annoying his bank manager, then please use Pay Pal to make that donation via his email which is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk  Any donation at all, regardless of how small you think it is will be a help.  Many thanks to you lovely people in advance.
Good King Hal chats to Southend Museum Services deeply wonderful and extremely hairy Chris Langdon, about great times at Southchurch Hall, history, moss removal from drains and dressing up as a Tudor, amongst other things.  As this is Good King Hal's first podcast, he also makes a LOT of noise with his script from time to time by banging it and rustling it against the microphone, and sometimes Chris' internet connection was bad and would make him sound like he was having a stroke, but we got there!  It's a fun, entertaining chat and hopefully the first of many. If you would like to support Good King Hal after listening to this podcast, you are more than welcome to make a donation for listening via Pay Pal - his email address on Pay Pal for any kind donations is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk and will hopefully stop the King having to go to debtors prison as he has only had about 10 shows since February and is frankly getting sick and tired of an all toast diet that he is currently having to survive on.  So that is good_king_hal@yahoo.co.uk on Pay Pal and any money you send if you can send it as a gift, it will stop Pay Pal taking a dirty great chunk of commission out of it.  THANK YOU!
A little taste of what's to come from Good King Hal and his Tragical History Tour. Stay tuned.
