The Statler City Hotel, constructed in 1923 by Ellsworth Statler, stands as a testament to Buffalo's rich history. Once a beacon of luxury with its grand ballrooms and 1,100 rooms, the hotel has since closed its doors to the public. Yet, many believe that some guests have never truly left.
In this episode of The Grave Talks, we sit down with Conor Hawkins to delve into the storied past of the Statler City Hotel. We explore its architectural grandeur, its significance in Buffalo's development, and the plans for its future. But perhaps most intriguingly, we uncover tales of the spirits that are said to still roam its halls. From phantom footsteps echoing in deserted corridors to apparitions glimpsed in the ballrooms, the hotel is a focal point for paranormal enthusiasts. Join us as we navigate the intersection of history and the supernatural within this iconic landmark.

Dave shares his story of life as a school janitor—a life filled with ghostly pants, vibrating walls, and a room so creepy it could make a grown man cry. From disembodied legs strolling by to an art room that seems more interested in pottery poltergeists than Picasso, Dave’s tale will have you questioning if schools are haunted by more than just teenage angst.

I totally agree! I know they make their money from this stuff. but man, lteeung people read a bit then shut them off? that really is lame. you can at least make it cheaper so that people that can't afford it could listen. you 4eally should be proud that your stories are that good. instead you want to frustrate them. you probably won't be in business too long. that's a shame. and I haven't listened yet but it seems alot of people want too! good luck.
I used to like this podcast, but the "Deep Dives" are a joke. The content is 25% fact/data and 75% narrative filler; in other words, no substance. And then there's the distractive background EBM music. The Deep Dive discussions likewise, don't provide any additional information. The "Grave Interviews" are usually bad recordings. Some are hard to understand. There's a lot of episodes in this podcast, but nothing you can't find out on your own through research.
30minutes of my life gone, had to stop this episode as so boring. Endless talking about conjuring, promoting her books and upcoming movie, after 30mins, still hasn't spoken about anything paranormal.
get these men a glass of water!
I like how Roland conveys his stories.. It's like I really was there.
👋 Hi!-👻Happy Halloween!🎃 I Love Rosemary Ellen Guiley! And Miss her greatly.🍂 She was brilliant,+ such a gifted Speaker!I followed most of her work when She was cranking out Books, Courses ect. (She was Hard to keep up with😁).Each endeavor+ adventure she shared was fascinating.🍁Respect Rosemary, i hope your afterlife is going well.💛 Bright blessings, Cherie🍃💛
thank you for sharing this you don't know it but you answered one of my questions I would love to be able to talk to her on the phone my name is CJ my number is 304-533-7080 if you can pass my number to June please
did I hear a 'hello' right at the beginning?
how do you shut off the ads?
What a great story!
why am I unable to play the video?
Thank you so much for this episode. I really can understand what she went through.
Playing a record backwards isnt paranormal. it has been proving that the band records messages backwards to make people think its paranormal. has been proven.
couldnt get passed her talking about The Conjuring and nothing about her experiences. Sad..
wow I didn't realize you left people on cliffhangers just to get patreons cmon...
omg Tony Bruschi has a style very similar to the late great Art Bell,he is the closest person I've found.
I WONDER IF HE COULD HAVE HAD AN ANEURYSM?
Some of these stories are so interesting, but sometimes it's a full 15 minutes of ads/talking about their lives before even getting to one story in a 37 minute episode. I'm not going to spend so much time for so little content.
Started out as a decent episode, then went right to Patreon for continued listening. From there it was Verizon commercials one after the other. Now I remember why I stopped listening.
the Idea that we have to pay to hear part 2 and spend much of part 1 listening to adverts?
