It's the first episode of the first season of The Grounding podcast! Such an exciting time. In this first episode I want to lay the groundwork for the foundational principles that will not only guide the conversations that we have on this podcast, but also guide the work that you do in your creative business. I offer three things to think through as you are laying (or rebuilding this foundation), so tune in to see what you can do to make sure that you are focusing on building a building that will last for years to come. Your business is a marathon, not a sprint. You are creating something that will last, so making sure that you are establishing patterns and systems today that will be sustainable years from now is essential. In this episode I get a little vulnerable and talk about the 5 things that I would do differently in my business if I was starting today. The reason that I am comfortable sharing these mistakes that I made in the first two years of my business is because I believe that you are allowed to fail, and even expected to fail. We shouldn't be ashamed of the mistakes that we made, IF we have learned from them and grown because of them.
