He recounts his journey from playing computer games as a child to being interested in computer science after seeing a supercomputer built from Xboxes by a fellow college student to switching his major from criminal justice to computer science and working at an ISP in college. After graduation, he struggled to find a job and considered joining the military, but eventually landed a role at a help desk.
