Transitioning from religion into spirituality can be very confusing if you have come from a religious upbringing. After living through a life-altering trauma at 19 years old, I lost my faith in a loving God. In the years following my boyfriend's death, I was spiritually curious, but I had no real relationship with my Higher Power. That is, until 8 years later when I almost lost the love of my life AGAIN. I share my personal writing of the experience of how I came to know, love, and believe in God again after living through trauma. My intention is to inspire at least one other person to search within your heart to find the love, support, and guidance that our Creator offers at all times.
