Gee. What a shock. Colin's going to talk about LeBron for the next eight months. Someone alert the media.

I assume I'm not the only one who had a red flag fly up when Colin decided to guess that there were boroughs of New York that have a larger population than does Chicago. This is not true. Brooklyn is the largest Borough and it comes close, but it does not have the population of Chicago.

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but if you have more money on the game than ever, that's your f****** fault. It's got nothing to do with the officials. Go curl up in a corner and weep, or take up pottery if you pay this much attention to sports and still know absolutely nothing about them. Unless you've been balls deep in it you don't understand the human element involved. I stayed away for a few months just to see if this guy got any smarter. He didn't. It only gets worse as he starts talking about how he feels it's okay to just have an opinion on how someone gets a disease. I can only imagine he thinks it's okay to call every player in the NFL gay as well. After all, it's just his opinion. No wonder this guy is not ready for prime time, and it sounds like he never will be.

I've been listening to Sports Talk Radio for years and years, since the early 2000s. I've heard dozens upon dozens of diffent armchair experts, Monday morning quarterbacks, analysists, influencers, and opinion makers.. One of them stands apart in a league of his one..Colin Cowherd is his name!

Since there seems to be some confusion, I'll try to straighten this out. Colin Cowherd is not a journalist. I say that mostly because no one has observed him actually practicing journalism since he became a talk show host for his opinion-driven - not journalism-driven - shows.

I know it's been made abundantly clear this week that Colin isn't one for actually doing the legwork and researching the things he then goes on to speak of, but the NFL is nowhere remotely close to being half filled by undrafted free agents. At the beginning of training camp it is because you need bodies. But only maybe 20 percent of the NFL is UDFAs.

Fifteen minutes in and I just can't take anymore. Zero analytic ability or perspective on the issue of Andrew Luck, the NFL and the abilities of incoming college quarterbacks. And I can't believe he actually pulled the, "I played high school football." card as some mechanism for him to be able to argue from a position of authority on the subject of the rigors of the NFL. However, it was no surprise at all that at the beginning he set himself above the rest of the sports media even given his track record. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

In the interest of providing context, both Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen annually predicted that it might be the last season for Brett Favre in Green Bay. Eventually, they guessed right and we're more than willing to take the credit for it their "prediction". Clickbait? Absolutely.

I'm not a Baker Mayfield fan, but it's obvious that when he said, "That's not what I said." what he meant was, "That's not what I was getting at and here is the rest of it to give it context." Also, I've been in the media for a couple of decades. Journalists are absolutely relying on clicks to remain employed. Internet traffic is everything to all news organizations. Broadcast people are in a somewhat different boat, but broadcast people aren't the ones who are the first source of stories like this one. That falls on actual journalists who do the legwork rather than sitting in a studio waiting to react and hopefully provide decent analysis.
