Tashae Haughton, a student in Kitchener, Waterloo, has taken on the task of ensuring that Black contributions in the Kitchener, Waterloo area are remembered. She is the creator of Unspoken: The Black Canadian was inspired educate her peers about this issue. With the help of Keneesh McKenzie, Camille Lawrence and Fonna Seidu this documentary came to life. Special guests appearances in this documentary are Carol Duncan head of the Relgion and Culture department at Wilfrid Laurier University and Atinuke Bankole who will be opening up a Black History section at the Region of Waterloo History Museum. We talk to Tashae about this documentary and the steps she has taken to address this important issue.
