Out of all these Communist regimes the STASI or East German ministry for State Security grew to become the largest and most highly organized secret service in history - even in comparison to the feared KGB. Granted the KGB was larger but the STASI over the course of the Cold War became a much more extensive and elaborate security service. Eclipsing even the feared Gestapo of Nazi Germany. Join us for this episode as we examine The STASI.

I agree with "Luke Yu" , I am a 30yro Southern Virginian with an Associates and I have NEVER heard of or at least understood how nuanced this subject is. I am only on episode 11, the Mediterranean point of view right after learning what exactly the Marshall plan was. I am enjoying every episode so far and I hope you continue to do these and if you run out of Cold war topic, I'm sure you would do a good job of other wars or politically charged movements. Hopefully your making a decent wage with this, because you definitely deserve compensation for this free education to so many.
