#22: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for a Cause

To learn more, you can view our GoFundMe Page here: https://gofund.me/ca80221fWhen my 18-year-old son Brian died in a car accident in 2013, a part of me died that night. However, a new part of me was born. A part of me to achieve great things in life that my son Brian would no longer have the chance to do. My son, Kevin, has felt much the same way as me since his brother died. We have spoken extensively about wanting to challenge ourselves physically and mentally. Furthermore, I wanted to do something beyond my everyday life as a neurosurgeon. We were searching for a challenge that seemed impossible to us. Climbing the nearly 20,000 feet below-freezing, snow-covered peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro was what we landed on.Then, I met Daniel Frazier. Here is someone who survived a really high fall from a roof. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and a spine injury. For the last 2 years, while recovering from his injuries, Daniel has dreamed about climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. A goal to challenge himself mentally and physically post injury. The day I met him, I knew then that fate had brought us together and we were destined to complete this life challenge together. With our mission, we hope to inspire others on many different levels to reach for goals and dreams in their own lives that they think are impossible. Furthermore, our goal is to raise money for SameYou and Tanzania Health and Medical Education Foundation (TAHMEF).Our apparel: https://doctorhoeflinger.com/- Part of all proceeds go towards our Mt Kilimanjaro project fundraiser and BrianMatters - our charity nonprofit.Check out My Free Newsletter: pages.doctorhoeflinger.comEach week, I simplify the world of health, medicine, and fitness using my 25 years of experience as a board-certified neurosurgeon.
