Description

We are the official podcast of IndianaHQ. Our mission and goal is simple: we want to bring in-depth analysis and coverage for Indiana University sports to as many fans as possible across a multitude of modern platforms. "The Hoosier Sound" was founded in 2017 by Noah Freeman and Matt Lukens who had a passion for all IU sports. The guys wanted to give listeners analysis of programs such as Indiana basketball, Indiana football, Indiana soccer, Indiana women's basketball, Indiana baseball, Indiana swim and dive, and more. We also do a daily IU sports news roundup called "Hoosier Sound-Off."

The Hoosiers broke their losing streak this past week by defeating #21 Iowa in Bloomington to get back to winning. They broke their four game losing streak on a night where Devonte Green had another big game. However, the winning did not last as the Hoosiers yet again could not play consistently on the road. The guys are joined by former Wolverine, Anthony Wright who hosts "A Michigan State of Mind" podcast to discuss Indiana vs. both Michigan's recently. They get a Michigan perspective on the game, as well as a former player's perspective on how this Indiana team is producing this season and what might be causing the inconsistencies. A fresh look from a non-Indiana fan is what this week's podcast is all about.Check us out and follow us on social media!WEBSITE: https://www.indianahq.com/ • Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheHoosierSound • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehoosiersound/ • iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id1282226985?mt=2&ls=1 • Google Podcasts: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zcHJlYWtlci5jb20vc2hvdy8yNjc3NTkyL2VwaXNvZGVzL2ZlZWQ • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0lk71fzLgbLP76iPNA14cP • SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-429075463-810819009 • iHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound-28550408/?cmp=web_share • TuneIn Radio: http://tun.in/pi2cE • Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound

4-game losing streak, but that seems like the least of this Hoosier basketball team's problems. A day day built with much anticipation, the Hoosiers played like they have been most of the season and lost another crucial home game. On the other hand, there was one major event that took place over the weekend we can focus on. After 20 years, former Coach Bob Knight came back to Assembly Hall for the first time with the 1979-1980 team. The guys talk about another frustrating performance against the Boilermakers, as well as the bigger news with Knight's return. They turn that discussion into a bigger one, is this season lost? Or is there a way for the team to turn it around to find themselves playing in the big dance. Not only will their play have to improve, but they now have to find victory on the road.Check us out and follow us on social media!WEBSITE: https://www.indianahq.com/ • Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheHoosierSound • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehoosiersound/ • iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id1282226985?mt=2&ls=1 • Google Podcasts: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zcHJlYWtlci5jb20vc2hvdy8yNjc3NTkyL2VwaXNvZGVzL2ZlZWQ • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0lk71fzLgbLP76iPNA14cP • SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-429075463-810819009 • iHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound-28550408/?cmp=web_share • TuneIn Radio: http://tun.in/pi2cE • Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound

Tough week for the Hoosier mens program as they went on the road, twice, to face Penn State and Ohio State. They did not play as well as they had been the previous two weeks, and lost their third straight game against Ohio State this past Saturday. With how the Hoosiers played, we can take one major factor from this week: home games are important. The Hoosiers are still 15-7 overall, and need at least 5 more victories to feel comfortable about breaking the NCAA Tournament streak of not playing in the big dance in March. Five more home games, four more road games. Win the home games, you reach the minimum goal for the season. Can the Hoosiers ever play well on the road this season? Will they be able to get those five victories in the final nine regular-season games? Lots of discussion to be had after a three-game losing streak.Check us out and follow us on social media!WEBSITE: https://www.indianahq.com/ • Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheHoosierSound • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehoosiersound/ • iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id1282226985?mt=2&ls=1 • Google Podcasts: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zcHJlYWtlci5jb20vc2hvdy8yNjc3NTkyL2VwaXNvZGVzL2ZlZWQ • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0lk71fzLgbLP76iPNA14cP • SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-429075463-810819009 • iHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound-28550408/?cmp=web_share • TuneIn Radio: http://tun.in/pi2cE • Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound

What a week of nail-biting performances from the Hoosier basketball team. In a year where home-court is especially important in the Big Ten, despite having two tough opponents in Assembly Hall this week, they needed to come away win at least one victory. If it were not for a crazy last minute by Maryland, the Hoosiers would have won an improbable two games this week. Despite the last few seconds of a loss to Maryland most recently, the Hoosiers did come from behind to take the lead and they beat the best in the conference, Michigan State. The Hoosiers are at least trending in the right direction and cutting down on their more poorer performances. The guys talk about the two recent games and how this team is now progressing. The Hoosiers have two roads games coming up this week and what do the Hoosiers need to do or keep doing to get into the tournament?Check us out and follow us on social media!WEBSITE: https://www.indianahq.com/ • Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheHoosierSound • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehoosiersound/ • iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id1282226985?mt=2&ls=1 • Google Podcasts: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zcHJlYWtlci5jb20vc2hvdy8yNjc3NTkyL2VwaXNvZGVzL2ZlZWQ • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0lk71fzLgbLP76iPNA14cP • SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-429075463-810819009 • iHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound-28550408/?cmp=web_share • TuneIn Radio: http://tun.in/pi2cE • Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound

The men's basketball program started their week of basketball by falling to Rutgers on the road in another game of poor shooting. They followed that performance up, however, by scoring most points then they have in one and a half months to defeat the Nebraska Cornhuskers on the road. The Hoosiers now have only one of seven road victories in conference play. Road victories are hard to come by this season, no matter who the opponent is. The guys breakdown the important victory before going into how the Hoosiers can get to 20 wins on the season. It is believed that 20 wins is the number to get in order to break the three year streak of not participating in the NCAA Tournament. Where can Indiana pick up six or more victories?Check us out and follow us on social media!WEBSITE: https://www.indianahq.com/ • Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheHoosierSound • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehoosiersound/ • iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id1282226985?mt=2&ls=1 • Google Podcasts: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zcHJlYWtlci5jb20vc2hvdy8yNjc3NTkyL2VwaXNvZGVzL2ZlZWQ • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0lk71fzLgbLP76iPNA14cP • SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-429075463-810819009 • iHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound-28550408/?cmp=web_share • TuneIn Radio: http://tun.in/pi2cE • Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound

Indiana Basketball is back! At least for one game. The Hoosiers took on No. 11 Ohio State in a rocking Assembly Hall this past Saturday and came away with a much needed victory. Fans were on the brink of losing hope for this season after what happened last year, but for now, everything is at ease as this past weekend is more evidence of how hard it is to win on the road in the Big Ten, no matter the matchup. Speaking of road play, the Hoosiers have to keep their momentum up by traveling to New Brunswick to face Rutgers this Wednesday. The guys break down the big victory, as well as their two road games coming up this week against Rutgers and Nebraska.Check us out and follow us on social media!WEBSITE: https://www.indianahq.com/ • Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheHoosierSound • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehoosiersound/ • iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id1282226985?mt=2&ls=1 • Google Podcasts: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zcHJlYWtlci5jb20vc2hvdy8yNjc3NTkyL2VwaXNvZGVzL2ZlZWQ • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0lk71fzLgbLP76iPNA14cP • SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-429075463-810819009 • iHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound-28550408/?cmp=web_share • TuneIn Radio: http://tun.in/pi2cE • Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound

It's been a rough week for the two major sports programs for the Hoosiers. The football team was denied their 9th win on the season against Tennessee and is now in a 5-bowl game losing streak. The guys recap the game against the Volunteers and put it into perspective on the season overall. Then, the men's basketball team traveled to College Park to face No. 15 Maryland and were blown out of the building. It was a disappointing loss to say the least, and the guys break down the bad loss and if the Hoosiers can get out of yet another offensive rut. Will we see another year of a losing-streak or can Archie Miller and his staff turn things around and get the Hoosiers back to playing well?Check us out and follow us on social media!WEBSITE: https://www.indianahq.com/ • Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheHoosierSound • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehoosiersound/ • iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id1282226985?mt=2&ls=1 • Google Podcasts: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zcHJlYWtlci5jb20vc2hvdy8yNjc3NTkyL2VwaXNvZGVzL2ZlZWQ • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0lk71fzLgbLP76iPNA14cP • SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-429075463-810819009 • iHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound-28550408/?cmp=web_share • TuneIn Radio: http://tun.in/pi2cE • Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound
In today's edition of the Hoosier Sound-Off: • The Women’s Basketball program is off to a good start in conference play as they sit in 1st place. • Men’s Basketball has found themselves in an offensive rut as everyone is searching for answers on how to fix it. • The football program was playing in January but lost to the Tennessee Volunteers in the final 5 minutes of the game.If you want to learn more about "The Hoosier Sound" or "IndianaHQ," go to our website, indianahq.com for all of our information.
It's finally Bowl Week! The football Hoosiers will take on the Tennessee Volunteers this week in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday. The guys preview the first January bowl game in a long time and what the Hoosiers need to do to come away with a victory and their first bowl win since 1991. After discussion on the last football game of the 2019 football season for the Hoosiers, the guys switch over to a more somber topic as of recent, Indiana basketball. The Hoosiers could not close out their game against Arkansas at home, losing 71-64 and falling to 11-2 on the season to close out the non-conference schedule. Where should the blame go for this loss? Is this a sign of more to come, or can this team start to find their way as the competition gets harder and harder? It wouldn't be the Crossroads Classic without a bit of drama as the Hoosiers won their 3rd straight Crossroads Classic game against Notre Dame up in Indianapolis this past weekend. The guys breakdown the Hoosiers' 2 point victory over the Fighting Irish and how the Hoosiers are 11-1 despite the overall play on the court. They break down the game in-depth as the holiday season is upon us and there are long breaks in between games. After the breakdown, they preview the Arkansas game coming up this Sunday and what the Hoosiers need to do to go undefeated in non-conference play and get their 12th win on the season before the real slate of conference games start. As both Hoosier basketball programs are 10-1 going into the third week of December, there is a lot to talk about. The men's program is coming off of a loss, followed by two questionable wins. Is this something fans should panic about, or wait to see how the team might respond? It's hard not to think of losing 11 of 12 games last year and think the worst, but should fans be judging this current team compared to last year's team? How should fans judge this team, who still have 10 wins in their first 11 games, with the one loss going to Wisconsin on the road? The guys discuss the most recent game against Nebraska and how it has compared to the last three games, and then compared to last year and if fans should panic or wait and see how they respond. What do you think? Then, news broke that Fred Glass is retiring and Kalen Deboer is expected to be named the next head coach at Fresno State.Check us out and follow us on social media!WEBSITE: https://www.indianahq.com/ • Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheHoosierSound • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thehoosiersound/ • iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id1282226985?mt=2&ls=1 • Google Podcasts: https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zcHJlYWtlci5jb20vc2hvdy8yNjc3NTkyL2VwaXNvZGVzL2ZlZWQ • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0lk71fzLgbLP76iPNA14cP • SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-429075463-810819009 • iHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound-28550408/?cmp=web_share • TuneIn Radio: http://tun.in/pi2cE • Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hoosier-sound
