Welcome back! I'm glad your husband is doing better. Do what you love to do! No competitions, rankings, comparisons, etc with others! Perfect timing because I watched Evil Dead Rise last night. I thought it was great! I like that it was explained that there are 3 volumes of the Necronomicon, which can make all the movies canon (a volume for the trilogy, 2013, and Rise). It makes sense on its own, but you definitely need to watch the original trilogy and catch all the nods and throwbacks. (There was only one book in the trilogy.) Evil Dead Rise was brutal, especially with the kids. (I figured the youngest girl would survive.) One thing I was little 'iffy' with was Jessica. We see at the end how she got possessed, but she walks out of her apartment like it was a normal night. Maybe it was just one section of the building that got damaged? I guess there weren't many people in the building since it was going to be condemned, but I thought it was odd that she was only aware of a power outag
I never know what to expect with an M. Night Shyamalan movie. I love The Sixth Sense and Signs, but The Happening was awful. A Knock at the Cabin was pretty good, and I'd give it a 7.5 / 10. I like this take on the 'bad guys' and not knowing for sure if their story is real. They were nice which I felt added more suspense; is it genuine or do they have ulterior motives? Bravo to this one.
Thank you for making this kind of content. I like to break down movies. No one I know is really into horror. -The Friday the 13th remake was ok, but I completely agree that Jenna should have survived. Hostages and Jason don't go together. I think he should have killed Whitney. -I wasn't too crazy about Scream 5. It was all about the hype. Dewey definitely shouldn't have died. It should have just been one final battle, and with that, I don't really want to see Scream 6. Especially without Sydney. -I wasn't as upset about Nancy being killed off. I think this works better with the 'Don't expect main characters to survive' as to keep it unpredictable. (Unlike Dewey's death which, as you mentioned, should have been a sacrifice.) -Karen's death in Halloween Kills was definitely the final push for Laurie, but I do agree that there should have been some time right after. -Sarah Michelle Gellar needs to survive in every movie, for sure! Lol
