Description

Rod and Jessica Sanchez thought they had it all… A comfortable home, comfortable jobs, and a comfortable routine. The "American Dream" was theirs for the taking. But what if that dream didn’t turn out to be their dream? The more they worked, the less time they got to spend together. During their children’s most formative years, they’d be spending the majority of their time away from them. The more they thought about it, the less it made sense. Turns out, either they’re really impatient or they weren't made to live that kind of life to begin with. Because of this, they decided to sell everything, quit their jobs and travel the world as the Jetsetting Family.

Have you ever seen one of those viral "dream travel job" competitions, where a company will pay you to travel places and take pictures and video at each location? Well, Leanne Melody (@lionmelody) has won one of those competitions, and has leveraged her success to create amazing content to share with her audience through her social media channels (YouTube, Facebook). The one question we are asked the most during our travels is how we are able to work and collaborate with brands like Royal Caribbean, Hilton, Grand Hyatt, Google, and more. We are dedicating this episode to answering that question and giving you the 4 keys to making those collaborations happen! Throughout the past 9 months we've been able to save more than $50,000 by creating family photography content for brands, and we are excited to show you how we did it.If you are interested in working with brands like we do, we are proud to announce that our digital course, The Art of the Pitch, will be launching on March 28! In that course we teach you everything that we have learned about pitching content creation services (like photography, videography, graphic design, etc.) to companies. We have packed more than 3 hours of video content, 18 different lessons across 5 modules, and plenty of worksheets, pitch templates, and PDF downloads. So if you want to pitch it, land it, and crush it, this is the course for you! To celebrate our course launch, we are having an introductory enrollment offer of $99 (valid until April 3), so check out the course page for more information and we hope to see you there!Learn more about your ad choices. One of the big narratives of full-time family travel is that it provides so many positive experiences for children. However, it's hard to really get a grasp on the kind of effect that it has on children. So this week, we're excited to speak with Andy Steves, a travel professional, author, and entrepreneur who grew up traveling with his father, Rick Steves (who is well known as a travel guide creator, radio and TV host). Tune in to see how growing up while traveling the world shaped who Andy is today, and how travel continues to be an important part of his life!If you're interested in following along on Andy's adventures, make sure to check out his Instagram page (@andystevestravel). We'd also really appreciate it if you subscribed to the show so you don't miss an episode! If you're interested in some of our photography work, you can check out our Instagram page as well as our blog. As always, feel free to reach out with any questions and comments! One of my favourite episodes!! Totally loved your story about road tripping in Australia and beach with missing kangaroos. You just always keep it real. Loved as well hearing more about your month at home and what challenges you found and how kids adjusted. Awesome as well to hear about cruising and how Jess changed her views about it. I would def love to try it ourselves. Thanks for inspiring us to travel. You are awesome

Loved this episode! I completely agree with Jess that it's busier when you're home than when on vacation. We're "doing nothing" this week for spring break and every single day has filled up with something! So in my spare time I'm enjoying "researching" trips for other places to go, including re-listening to these podcasts. Excited to add more future destinations thanks to y'alls trips inspiration! It's also good to know that non-cruisers can be turned to cruise lovers!
