Strength Training as You Age

Strength Training as You Age

2024-04-2101:00:291

In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I have an in-depth conversation with my podcast producer, Tony, all about training as you age. I talk about how aging affects everything from fat loss, to strength, to muscle growth... but the core principles of training stay the same throughout your entire life. I go over why younger folks have an advantage at building strength and muscle, how women tend to approach training with more enthusiasm later in life, and how TRT is the same thing as steroids (sorry, not sorry) regardless of what people claim.  I also talk about why aesthetics for trained individuals are greatly affected by genetics, how steroids are linked to high blood pressure and other severe health risks, how protein pulsing may have some benefits for training as you age, and how it's never too late to start taking your health and fitness seriously and make huge improvements. If you have any questions you want us to discuss on the podcast, give Tony a follow and shoot him a DM on Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/tone_reverie/ . This was one of the best podcasts that I have ever listened to about training. I am at the beginning of my weight loss journey and I learned a huge amount of knowledge about strength training. I never knew so much knowledge went into creating a program. What is your best advice for a women starting out with strength training?

loved this episode. I think the 123 concept and the consistency while writing in the memory on the inconsistent day is very helpful.

So refreshing to come across real honest truths about topics regarding food and fitness. This podcast reminds me that small steps are big wins and that we are all human. so....when life happens it's ok to have happiness and enjoyment over food and drinks. love the x's and o's consistency strategy.... especially since I'm an all or nothing kinda gal!! Many thanks!

I gave up alcohol in 2018 for the year and it was crazy how some friends reacted. they really took it personally even though it didnt impact them and I still went for regular nights out. I am back to drinking but I never go over a certain amount and I dont understand how people who get hungover would want to feel like that regularly 🤷🏻‍♀️ its pointless calories and a huge waste of money

I agree with your take on optimism. I read Viktor Frankyls book years ago and he said the greatest freedom we have is to choose our attitude in any situation
