This week on the podcast I am excited to present to one of my current, favorite artists, Colby Sanford!  I first discovered Colby on Pinterest and immediately searched for his Instagram page.  I instantly connected to his artwork, and I am sure you will too.  What draws me to Colby’s art is that it is all about his day to day life, and it is almost as if his paintings bring back memories of my own childhood, or of my own children.  In this episode, I get to know Colby on a more personal level.  He shares about his wife, children, and where he lives.  We also learn about all of the twists and turns that his art journey has taken, and how he ended up being the current artist that he is.  Colby shares about his day to day life, and how he is always striving to find that balance between family and work - the beautiful struggle.  His work relies on being in the moment with his family, and capturing those tiny precious moments.  So spending time with them is important in more ways than one.  I just found this really special!  Colby discusses his biggest struggle as an artist, and what his ultimate goals are.  He also shares with us what message he hopes to deliver to his fans.  This conversation with Colby was pure joy, and I hope that you are encouraged to look for the small precious moments in your own life after you listen!  Get comfy with your favorite crocheted blanket, and take a listen!
This week on the podcast I am excited to present to you my fellow artist, colleague and dear friend, Kathy Lewis.  In this episode, Kathy and I talk about her earliest experiences with being creative, and the ways that her parents encouraged her to create.  Kathy discusses her lifelong love for math, and how this love turned into a very rewarding career at the secondary and university level.  She just recently retired, which was a tough decision, but as you will hear, no regrets!  Kathy is a mom to three, and she shares about raising kids with very different personalities.  You moms will learn a thing or two from this conversation!  I can’t wait for you to learn more about “wet ones - dry ones”!  In 2010, Kathy was diagnosed with cancer and wasn’t expected to live more than six months from her diagnosis, but she did, she is in remission, and she shares about how laughter has really been the best medicine throughout her life!  Lastly, Kathy shares about how teaching online classes for our network has filled the void of teaching in person, and how she gains so much inspiration from everyone around her!  In case you didn’t know, Kathy has two online courses with our network, FAT AND HAPPY BIRDS, and LITTLE BOWL OF BEINGS.  Both of these courses have been a huge success, and through these courses, and other experiences, Kathy continues to inspire people all over the world!  FAT AND HAPPY BIRDS CLASS - ONLINELITTLE BOWL OF BEINGS CLASS - ONLINE

This week on the podcast I am excited to present to you my fellow artist, colleague and friend, Robert Kelley.  In this episode Robert and I talk about what daily life is like these days for him.  He has three children that he helps to support at home and away from home.  He also has a mother that suffers from Parkinson's and dementia for whom he is the primary caretaker.  Robert gets real about what this has been like.  In this conversation, Robert discusses his addiction to alcohol, and how that piece of his life has affected his artistic journey.  He openly shares about his struggles, and when it was time to say “enough is enough” let’s do this art thing.  It’s now or never!  Robert is a huge believer in following your path and doing what you love!  He always says that if you love to draw animals, DO THAT!  If you love to draw plants, DO THAT!  You should just DO YOU!  We discuss the various traps that artists fall into, and ways that we can continue on doing art for ourselves.  Lastly, Robert shares about being a person of service, and how it is one of his greatest joys to just give back to others.  It is his true passion to give back as much as he can to those around him.  We can all learn so much from him, and I am excited for you to listen to his interview!
