Tom House’s resume is incredible – he was a Major League Baseball pitcher for almost a decade, though he’ll be the first to tell you that the highlight of his career actually came in the bullpen, where he caught Hank Aaron’s record-breaking 715th home run ball. His pitching career naturally led him into coaching, and he broke into the majors with the Texas Rangers, where he worked closely with hall of famer Nolan Ryan. Tom is regarded as the only coach on the planet who has trained with Hall of Famers in baseball, football and golf, but his path to football is a unique one. He was notorious for having his pitchers throw around a football as a way of reinforcing proper biomechanics, and his work caught the eye of coaches and players outside of baseball in the early 2000’s.  Though many of our listeners may know Tom from his work coaching our Co-Founder Tom Brady throughout his career, he has also served as the personal coach to star athletes like Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Randy Johnson, Cole Hamels, and thousands of other elite professional, college, high school and youth QBs and pitchers.  This is a fascinating conversation with Tom about the lessons he has learned throughout his incredible career, the importance of mentorship, and what it’s like to work closely with so many of the top athletes in the world. You’re going to love this conversation with the legendary Tom House! Let’s go.
Dan Buettner is an explorer and New York Times bestselling author who discovered the five places in the world – dubbed “blue zones” hotspots – where people live the longest, healthiest lives. If you’re unfamiliar with the blue zones, the term refers to the five areas of the world with the highest number of people per capita who live to over 100 years old. Dan’s extensive studies of these unique populations led him to develop what he calls “power 9” – the 9 diet and lifestyle habits that he observed as a common thread that powered their longevity. Dan’s work centers on the idea that we largely control our own fate when it comes to longevity. By making the right lifestyle choices, we can set ourselves up for a longer and more vital life. His philosophy echoes what we say all the time here at TB12 – we each have a responsibility to take control over our own health & wellness. Dan has expanded his initial blue zones research into 5 additional bestselling books, and has a new book – The Blue Zones Challenge – coming out on December 7th. The book includes a 4-week challenge based on the blue zones that's designed to help us not only change our habits, but also change the environment we create for ourselves every day. This conversation with Dan is loaded with fascinating insights into the things we can do every day to invest in our own health and wellness in the same way people in the blue zones do. If you’re interested in maximizing your longevity, this conversation is a great place to start! You’re going to love this conversation with Dan Buettner. Let’s go!
You may know Ryan Holiday from his most popular book, The Obstacle is the Way, or from his research into stoicism in books like The Daily Stoic or Stillness is the Key. The power of Ryan’s work is in the way he effortlessly brings the wisdom of ancient Greek and Roman philosophers into the 21st Century – packaging the principles that guided the stoics 2,300 years ago into books that can help all of us live more productive and fulfilling lives. We’ve been eager to talk to Ryan since we launched the Keep Going Podcast, and this conversation did not disappoint! This episode is loaded with useful advice and insights, even for people who have read nearly all of Ryan’s books.  As Ryan says in our conversation, stoicism is a journey of continual improvement – a process we use day-by-day to get better as we pursue our goals. I think you’ll all find that this episode is a great place to start. We hope you enjoy this conversation with Ryan Holiday. Let’s go
Ben Bergeron is a former Ironman triathlete turned CrossFit Games competitor who now trains some of the fittest athletes in the world. Ben has coached his athletes to six world championships total, and is currently the coach to the reigning Fittest Man and Fittest Woman on Earth. One of the things about Ben that impresses me the most is his approach to mental toughness with his athletes. Ben understands that while the mindset of a champion is uncommonly rare, it doesn’t have to be, and that every one of us is capable of unlocking it. He credits mental toughness as the secret to the success of his athletes, and it was fascinating to hear Ben’s unique perspective on the principles that make up a winning mindset.   Ben has dedicated his life to helping others become the best version of themselves – a path that led him to expand from coaching to entrepreneurship. He founded CrossFit New England in 2007, where he coaches regular people on their quest to improve their fitness, health, and approach to life beyond the gym.  Ben has transformed the lives of tens of thousands of people through his coaching, and you’ll notice very quickly in this episode that he brings an incredible level of passion to everything he does. If you’re interested in developing your mindset and mental toughness, you are going to love this episode with Ben Bergeron. Let’s go!
Mike McCastle is one of the most incredible achievers we’ve had the opportunity to speak with on the Keep Going Podcast – he’s a world-renowned endurance athlete, five-time world record holder, nationally acclaimed performance coach, and as you’ll hear, a dedicated philanthropist as well. During his 11 year stint in the U.S. Navy, Mike founded the Twelve Labors Project.  Inspired by the mythological '12 labors of Hercules’, these challenges test his physical and mental limits with the ultimate goal of pushing the limits of human potential while inspiring others to explore their own capacity for greatness.  To date, Mike has shattered the Guinness World Record for pull-ups in 24 hours, pulled a Ford F-150 for 22 miles across Death Valley, run 20 miles a day for 100 straight days, and flipped a 250-pound tire for 13 miles, among many other unbelievable feats. Mike performs these all of these challenges in the name of raising money and awareness for charitable causes like veteran suicide awareness and parkinson’s disease.  When Mike isn’t training for his Labors, he trains a variety of athletes and teams with the aim of improving performance, mental strength, leadership and team cohesion.  Our friend and former Keep Going Podcast guest Colin O’Brady sought McCastle’s help in training for his historic solo, unassisted and unsupported trek across Antarctica and man powered row across the Drake Passage.  Mike is full of amazing insights into how to intensely pursue your passion, learn from failure whenever possible, and set personal standards – all things that have driven his success and the success of his athletes. You’re going to love this candid conversation with the inspiring Mike McCastle. Let’s go!
Our guest today on a very special episode of the Keep Going Podcast is our co-Founder and 7x Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady. At age 44 and fresh off of his 7th Super Bowl win, Tom entered his 22nd NFL season this Fall after spending the majority of the offseason rehabbing from reconstructive surgery on his MCL. He has picked up right where he left off in the Super Bowl, throwing for 10 TDs and over 1,000 yards in the first three games of the season and diving even further into uncharted territory for an athlete his age.  You’ll hear Tom speak candidly in this episode about how his daily habits enable him to continue to perform at the highest level, and it’s especially interesting to hear just how passionate Tom is when he talks about how the TB12 Method has impacted his life & career.  Tom is now just a few days away from returning to New England to lead his defending Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers against the Patriots in one of the most anticipated NFL games in decades. So much has been made of Tom’s return to Foxboro recently, and he was open with us about what he expects from his long-awaited return and some of the emotions he’s feeling as he prepares to play the Patriots for the first time in his career.  You’re going to love this incredible conversation with Tom Brady. Let’s go!
Since we last spoke with Alex, the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl, Tom spent his offseason rehabbing with Alex after MCL surgery, and we celebrated TB12’s 8th birthday – a milestone that marked 8 years of helping people all over the world live pain-free and perform their best. As you’ll hear in our conversation, Alex’s focus will always be on helping as many people as he possibly can. As he looks forward to the future of TB12, the goal is a simple one: improve the lives of our clients. Charlie Coyle has charted a unique path during his hockey career, having grown up in Weymouth, MA before playing college hockey at Boston University and ultimately being drafted into the NHL by the San Jose Sharks. He spent the first 6 seasons of his career playing for the Minnesota Wild before being traded to his hometown Boston Bruins in 2019. The 2021-22 season will be Charlie’s third full season with the Bruins, and he will enter training camp this fall after spending the summer recovering from offseason knee surgery. As most hockey fans know, NHL players are often very quiet about the injuries they deal with during the season – and it isn’t until after the playoffs end that you hear about all the aches and pains the athletes endured during the season.  Charlie is no stranger to the brutality of the NHL season, and has been coming into our TB12 Performance & Recovery Center in Boston for treatment sessions throughout each of the last three seasons. He understands that you can’t perform at a high level without a consistent focus on recovery, and has made pliability a key part of his preparation throughout the season.
Our guest on today’s episode is Alex Honnold, the legendary professional rock climber whose free-solo ascents of America’s biggest cliffs have made him one of the most recognizable climbers in the world.  Alex has a legendary mindset and an ability to push past fear that has enabled him to make a career out of climbing without a rope to protect him if he falls. If you’ve seen Free Solo, the Oscar-winning documentary that highlights his unassisted, free solo climb of El Capitan, then you know just how incredible that accomplishment was.  Alex is a humble and hard-working guy who has found unparalleled success in a sport that requires him to risk death with every step he takes. He was never the strongest or fastest climber, and it wasn’t until he dropped out of college and spent a year living in his van in between climbs that Alex began to develop the resilience that has made him the greatest free solo climber ever.   He is also the host of the recently developed “Climbing Gold” podcast, which takes listeners on a tour through the history and evolution of climbing, from the early days of the lunatic fringe to today’s new generation of athletes. Check out Alex's Climbing Gold Podcast here. This is a fascinating conversation about overcoming fear and loss on the way to finding your passion, and we think you’ll all enjoy hearing Alex’s incredible story in his own words. Let’s go!

Our guest today is former Special Forces Green Beret Kevin Flike. Kevin first came to TB12 in 2017 and has completed over 160 sessions with us to date. Kevin’s story is one of overcoming the odds at every turn, and we’re proud to have him in our TB12 family.  Kevin was born and raised in Stillwater, a small town in upstate New York. After graduating from Union College (BA), he served as a Special Forces Engineer assigned to the 1st Special Forces Group and deployed to the Philippines, Thailand and twice to Afghanistan.  On September 25, 2011, Kevin was on patrol with his team in the mountains of northwestern Afghanistan when a firefight broke out. After 10 hours of intense fighting, a Taliban sniper shot Flike in the stomach as he walked around the corner of a building – changing his life forever. As you’ll hear, Kevin’s problems started with the physical: a fractured hip, loss of 20% of his colon, and a damaged femoral nerve. He would endure six surgeries marked by 40 inches of scars. As he worked towards a physical recovery, growing psychological and spiritual problems complicated his progress: depression, despair, addiction, anger, jealousy, and post-traumatic stress.  After a life-altering conversation with his wife, Kevin began to ascend from the dark place he had been in – beginning with attending graduate school. In the Spring of 2016, Kevin completed dual masters degrees from MIT and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.  We sat down with Kevin to hear about his early life, how his upbringing led him to the Green Berets, and how his experiences have forced him to adapt and take back control of his life.
Our conversation today is a special one, featuring the brother-sister duo behind Puris – the nation’s largest supplier of pea protein and Fast Company's #1 most innovative food company of 2021. Nicole Atchison joined the family business three years ago as Chief Technology Officer after working in the medical device industry for several years. She leads innovation and business development across Puris’ portfolio of companies. Her brother, Tyler Lorenzen, is CEO of Puris Proteins, a joint venture with Cargill Inc. that manufactures and commercializes pea protein and other products. Today, PURIS manufactures a spectrum of non-GMO, plant-based ingredients made from soy, pulses, lentils and corn. Puris sources only the highest-quality organic plants and extract 100% of the nutrition from each: protein, starch, sugar, fiber and more. By going beyond protein to embrace every part of the plant, Puris squeezes more goodness out of everything they grow. That means less waste and environmental impact and lower costs to produce great food. This is a fascinating conversation all about their endeavors into plant-based nutrition, the quest for a more sustainable food ecosystem, soil health, and the future of nutrition. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Let's go!

His injuries covered nearly 25% of his body, primarily damaging his legs and feet. Doctors warned him he might never walk again normally. Here at TB12, we always say that age is just a number. Our guest on today’s episode – Robert Hamilton Owens – is a master of the mental game and the fittest 67 year old on the planet.  Robert has lived an incredibly full and adventurous life, and has no plans of slowing down. A mere four days before his 66th birthday last year, Robert took on the SEALFIT’s Kokoro 50-Hour Challenge, a Navy SEAL-style Hell Week challenge that was originally created to train Special Operations Candidates. He was the oldest of the group by 25 years to finish, and at the same time became the oldest person to ever complete the challenge. His mental toughness is absolutely unmatched.  Robert spent the early part of his career as a US Air Force Pararescueman – the Air Force equivalent of a Navy SEAL – and was called upon daily to risk his life to save people trapped in life-threatening situations. His passion for adventure and endurance training has led him to complete an astonishing 12 Ironman Triathlons, and the World Marathon Challenge – a grueling event comprised of 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days. Robert is a living embodiment of longevity and mental toughness – everything we strive for here at TB12 – and we think you’re all going to really enjoy our conversation. Let’s go!
