Description

How did Hollywood’s brightest star become its most tragic victim? From Norma Jeane, casting couch girl desperate for success, to Marilyn Monroe, global icon, it was Marilyn’s turbulent love life that ultimately sealed her final fate. Surrounded by a deadly cocktail of pills, her death was ruled “probable suicide,” but questions remain surrounding just how – and why – she died.

From the creators of Fatal Voyage: The Mysterious Death of Natalie Wood comes a 12-part audio documentary that analyzes the tangle of sex, power, corruption, and lies that led the most powerful men in America to silence Marilyn Monroe for good.

A round-up of the entire series and a look at what action has taken place in the 57 years since Marilyn Monroe's murder, including the 1982 “threshold investigation” and the multitude of books since. The subsequent lives and deaths of JFK, RFK, Giancana, Hoover, Greenson, Sinatra, and Lawford will also be examined for clues. Finally, we ask: is the mounting evidence and newly-released FBI files incentive for the LA County DA’s office to reinvestigate the death of Hollywood’s most tragic star? Increasingly concerned about Marilyn Monroe’s erratic behavior and the Kennedy secrets she knew, Bobby Kennedy was sent to LA to control the situation. Whether he turned up at Marilyn’s condo with the intention of killing her will never be known, but when she wouldn’t give up her Red Book, things turned violent. A sedative was administered by Dr. Greenson; it didn’t work. A pillow was placed over Marilyn's head, a shot given, and then a fatal injection directly into her heart. Peter Lawford was called to doctor the scene to look like suicide before the police were called, and the Kennedy cover-up operation swung into action. Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode, we examine the various conspiracy theories surrounding Marilyn Monroe's death, investigating each of the suspects one by one. Was it a mob hit ordered by Giancana in order to get at President John F. Kennedy? Was it J Edgar Hoover, desperate to get his hands on Marilyn's Red Book to gain power over the President? Was the CIA, panicked over Marilyn’s ties to Communists and all the information she knew, spurred into silencing her? Or could it even have been the Kennedy's themselves?Upstart: Find out how low your Upstart rate is at Upstart.com/MONROE.Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

20 minute episodes, minus the commercial time. Same sound bites over and over. Should have been a 5 episode podcast. Interesting content however.

this was very entertaining but I really believe her doctor and housekeeper killed her. She had just fired the housekeeper and was going to fire the doctor because she was going to marry Joe DiMaggio again.

I feel like I'm listening to the podcast version of a freshman comp paper. The same sources again and again and no one is actually trying to bring any of it together to make a point.

Super interesting podcast! Maybe I'm missing something, but throughout each episode, I seem to be hearing the same clips of quotes by the same people about Marilyn? I skip through them now because I've heard a few of them several times throughout all four chapters so far! Hope this feedback is helpful!

my late wife pointed that she couldn't have killed herself. no woman would want to be found naked. ask a woman. she would have put on a nightgown.

kinda silly to imply that women and men don't feel these same pressures in the industry today. as if they aren't still being passed around lol
