The Kulcha

As informative as we are nonsensical. Welcome to the new age of edutainment.

Episode 131 - Space Nazi's ft. Rudy

NEW WEEK, NEW KULCHA!!!Ever heard of "Space Nazis"?Its yet another jam packed, mind-bending, imagination stretching episode of The Kulcha and this week, we are joined by fellow stoner and former marine - Phillipus affectionately known to us all as Rudy. The chats break in with an ice-breaker question: who are the 5 most influential people to have lived that you would save and take to a new world...dead or alive?  Everyone's input made some sort of sense, even Rudy's remark that he'd take Beyonce because "we need some ass in the new world" LMAOAs it was the month of love, a question was looming in Uno's mind "who handles heartbreak better between men and women?" A lot of very interesting answers were discussed with the conclusion strangely leading us to explore the relationship between heartbreak and harm.Speaking of harm, Lee takes the chance to inform us on cultural practices that involve the mutilation of female genitals in the name of "circumcision" taking place in certain parts of Africa. This is a roller coster of an episode and the best thing you can do is roll up and enjoy the ride!

Episode 130 - Neuralink??!!!

NEW WEEK, NEW GAWDDAMN KUCLHA!!!!!!!It's a balanced panel on your weekly dose of The Kulcha as Stan and Uno pair up with Kaycee and Lee to produce yet ANOTHER lit (see what we did there) episode of The Kulcha! The chats start off with a dissection of the pro's and con's of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's pregnancy and what it means for broke boys worldwide! Ironically, the talk of babies leads us to the concept of vasectomies...as a guy, would you get one?The meat of the discussion really begins to unfold itself as Uno gets the gang up to speed on the shenanigans of "the most elaborate charlatan of our time" - Elon Musk! We unpack a few of the company's milestones and projects - the piPhone, and Cybertruck and then try to imagine a future with the neuralink chip...can you imagine such a future?Still in the vein of the dystopian potential of the future Lee pulls an extract from the book "Intuition" by Osho depicting the links between intellect, instinct and intuition. Naturally and contextually, the next question we try to answer is where/how, if possible, can artificial intelligence play a role in religion and what really is consciousness???Yeah, its another one of those episode! SIT BACK...ROLL UP and enjoy the chats!!!!!!!!

NEW WEEK, NEW KULCHA!!!!!!!This weeks instalment of The Kulcha sees Uno sitting down with two first-time guests - Vice and Lerato...on the subject of "first-time", Lerato takes the stand and shares a very interesting story about her first kiss (shout out to Craig David LMAO!) and her first time ever having sex. A question is also asked - how many guys do you think have lost their virginity to a sex worker?Vice is forced to play referee as Uno and Lerato pick opposing sides on the Ari Lennox/MacG debacle. Would you freeze yourself to be "re-animated" in the future? Also, Nestle is the most evil company in the world!!!The episode ends off with a super chilled and pleasant surprise as Vice and Lerato spontaneously collaborate to deliver a live studio performance! This is the part that you stop reading and start rolling! It's The GawdDamn Kulcha!

New Year, new week AND FINALLY...some new Kulcha! What it do Kulcha Fam!Greetings of the highest order with equally matching compliments for the new year unto you and yours!Speaking of compliments - in our first presentation for the new year, we sit down with our homies Bangani and Nosi of the famous "Eastlynne Pizza Grill" to discuss a few highlights of the year that was and the goals they have set for this new year. After rating 2021, we quickly got into one of the most pressing issues in the country so far this year - the fire at parliament. Bangani breaks down his conspiracy theory on the subject and somehow (probably because of the dank that we're on) we got on to the subject of aliens.Uno breaks down what is now known and classified as The Ariel School Incident, where 66 children in Zimbabwe, in 1994...experienced an alien encounter. This incident is cited as the largest siting of extraterrestrials so far on earth!Another nonsensical yet informative episode of The Kulcha that you're definitely going to need to roll up for!

Episode 146 - Music + Podcast + Kulcha (with Brantley, Mahoota & Ubereatzz)

New week, new Kulcha. This time around, we went deep diving into our archives and we found this recording that we made during The Kulcha Market in May 2022. Stan lead the chats with Mahoota (No Hidden Agenda) and Brantley & Ubereatzz (The Virtuoso Speaks) joining in their capacity as music podcasters. This was a light hearted conversation breaking down the origins, expectations and observations of the music podcasting journey of our guests.  This also leaves a question: which artist (dead or alive) would make a good podcast.  Light one up, sit back and listen, for the (musical) Kulcha...Follow our shenanigans at The Kulcha through THIS LINK

After a long time dabbling between life and other things, The Kulcha finally has a new podcast, for the Kulcha. Stan had no choice but to debate with Uno about the recent drama surrounding Uno's favourite musician, Kanye West. After a while, Stan segued into a chat about the Baked Shakespeare theatre production that is nearing its conclusion. From there, the news about Australia not wanting to be ruled by King Charles and his Queen, who was once his side chick. Now you know why we titled this episode the way we did. Episode 143 - High Therapy with the Boksburg Homies

New week, new Kulcha! This time around, we recorded on location with some of our homies in Boksburg. Uno started things off with a grinding (or is it crushing) ice breaker. From there, we give off a young example of High Therapy when one of the homies brings up a relationship issue. From there, we get deeper and try to find out if society needs to have a hard reset and all the homies had their perspective on what would work best for the human race as we know it and what would it take to unify the people of South Africa. We touched a little bit on AI generated music, but that is something that might pop up again. Roll up and kick back with the homies. for the Kulcha.

Episode 141 - Luck vs Miracles with Gangsta

This weeks edition of The Kulcha Podcast kicks off on a contentious note as guest Eddy (aka Gangsta), Uno and Stan get into a debate about the apparent differences that exist between miracles and luck. At first glance, one might not notice the differences/similarities but this deep diving ice-breaker sets the pace to allow for an engaging conversation on the matter. And that was just the ice-breaker. In conversation with Gangsta, we get onto the subject of art and why an artists art is likely to change once they become successful. On the subject of success, we get into Banyana Banyana's emergence as the Champions of Africa in women's soccer. The panel, excluding Uno, take their opportunity to cast a shadow of doubt on the ladies ability to take the World Cup. There has been a trend toward tavern terrorism in South Africa over the past few months as Uno proposes the country may be under siege. Stan and Gangsta also chip in with their views and drop the daily allegation in that the Sotho Mafia may be the reason for all the recent carnage. On the matter of justice, Uno expresses his shock at how well and swift the system is when dealing with last years "insurgency", 20 instigators where arrested, but they still can't tell us who killed Senzo Meyiwa, in a room full of people? The situation then begs the question - Is there any justice in the world?

Episode 140 - The World is Self Correcting

It’s The Kulcha!!!Episode 140 kicks off on a high note (lol) as we delve  straight into the lengthy conversation about the world currently being in a state of correcting itself. Stan points out a number of notable events to sustain his theory that indeed nature is playing a more active role as the world self-corrects. A few historical facts come up on the subject of self-correction such as Agent Orange and the Hydrogen Bomb. Uno recalls his long time admiration of JFK and how that has changed with knowledge that JFK ultimately signed off and approved on the implementation of one of the greatest tragedies to ever befall Vietnam. Going to show perhaps that when we admire men, we need to understand that a man is both a hero and a villain and that time will tell what he will be remembered more for.Just for kicks, we ask - is Elon Musk the white Nick Cannon? You know why we ask, right? lolthis is the sign you've been waiting for - its time to get high!!!!

Episode 139 - Business Forum Gang

In episode 139, Stan and Uno are still very high off of the first month of a successful series  of Kulcha Sundaze. The event was well attended and the crowd loved the announcement that we wouldn’t be going anywhere for a long time to come! In the episode, we even touch on what we are witnessing at Sundaze - creative alignments being formed. Artists who may have never known each other, are meeting up and are working together. Being able to facilitate that kind of an environment is a great honour and blessing, which we cherish. We also take the time to touch on some street politics via the subject of a certain Mr Vusi Khekhe. The conversation ensues and leads to a very very philosophical question in the conversation of corruption and integrity. The question is asked - is being corrupt, being pro-life? Seeing that having integrity is essentially an application for a murder. Also, are business forums, gangs? We high-pothesise on a few reasons why the proposed National Shutdown that was meant to take place, wasn’t as impactful as it was meant to be, using the Million Man March as an example. If you could travel to any point back in time, when/where would you travel to? Stan jokingly, but not jokingly suggests that black people may have time travel restrictions considering…you know…history. lol. In the same breath, we try to unpack or understand Joe Rogan’s authoritative views on the rules of time travel and all Uno wants to do is time travel to time where the human race was generally happier. This is your cue to roll one up, sit back and enjoy the chats! It’s The Kulcha!!!

Episode 138 with Born Fire Rebelz

New week, new Kulcha! This episode is special for 2 reasons. 1) We recorded on location at FourFourTwo just before we started with Kulcha Sundaze in June 2022, and 2) We were joined by Pretoria based lofi hip hop duo, Born Fire Rebelz.AV & Malcolm do this hip hop thing different, so we wanted to break down their inspirations, thought process and musical techniques. Which was perfect timing as their latest EP called Preparations is available now on all good streaming platforms.Stan takes a small offramp to discuss the 1st time he got stood up on a date. And we chatted a bit about the break-in at the President's farm in Bela Bela. Yep, it's a movie! No blunt was lit on this one, but we still did for the K-U-L-C-H-A

Episode 137 - The Streisand Effect

New Week, New Kulcha! This week, we get the chat jumping via an interesting ice-braking question - if you had to chose between loyalty and respect, what would you choose and why? Also, whats the difference between the two, especially in the context of Love? Yeah, this is how this podcast episode starts!!!Next up on our conversational agenda is the subject of the unbelievable actions of our not-so-beloved president Cyril Ramaphosa. Like, who gets robbed then pays the guys who robbed him to keep the robbery a secret. What an absurd solution to the problem and its not surprise that eventually, the cover-up came into the eyes and ears of the public and boy are we surprised.. The situation begs the question - what kind of criminal reasoning is our president using? Only in Africa can you be a 60 year old presidential candidate and be considered the youngest amongst your competitors as is proving to be the case in Nigeria as they get ready to go to the polls. In a rare eventuality of a Twitter timeline topic making it to our podcast talking points, we dissect the issue of  low marks and failing academics and why it's so shamed in society that a couple would break up and share each others academic records on the timeline. How immature, right? Maybe they actually do belong together, right? Lol…we dissect the topic then quickly dismiss it as it really is just stupid and we can understand why they both had academic struggles!Oh yeah…you guys remember Hamilton Ndlovu, the guy who bought 10 super cars in one day? Yeah, 10! Can you believe that?! Ok, so what does Hamilton have in common with some of our favourite cryptocurrencies? They both took a very costly knock!Right, this is the end of the synopsis. Thanks for reading…its time to roll up now and listen!!!The Kulcha

Episode 136 - How To Treat Your Enemy

NEW WEEK, NEW KULCHA!!!We kick off this weeks episode of The Kulcha with a controversial ice-breaking question - who can say "nigga"? As in, is there a context for someone to use the word, who is not allowed to? What would they have to have achieved in order to use it? We use Alchemist (hip hop producer) and Eminem as guinea pigs to test the our opinions. With all the controversy currently going in the country, one outstanding piece of news was the new flag post that was proposed a few weeks ago! Stan commends South Africans for coming together on the matter but also condemns us not being proactive enough in the fight against government looting. Without practising restraint, Stan condemns the government for their blatant foolishness and outright corruption.Have you ever heard of a company named Tencent? If not, Google them and find out for yourself why we ought to be weary about the tech we use.How do you treat your enemies, with cruelty or with kindness? Uno questions the depth of body shaming as he relays a personal experience that sees a friend turn into a foe and he doesn't know how to act! All in an attempt to deal with having a new enemy!Oh and finally...there's a little insect going around that apparently is gonna cost South Africa R275 billion over the next 10 years. Stan suspects nanotechnology and proposes that it might be agri-warfare! WTF????!!!!This is your cue to roll up!

Episode 135 - United States of Vibes

New Week, New Kulcha!!!Its been a minute since we last recorded an episode. We've really been taking the time to get our other brand - The Kulcha Market popping. Now that The Kulcha Market has matured, we're back to to do what we do and back to do it like we've never done it!We kick off the chats with question reminiscent of younger days - when last did you take part in a treasure hunt? Probably when you were a kid, right? But what if there was +/- $5million buried in gold somewhere, wouldn't you consider taking your chances hunting for that treasure? A lot has been happening in the world of hip hop with Kendrick Lamar dropping a project 5 years after  his last one and Young Thug and his thugs being jailed. We ask ourselves a few questions on these dense topics - is everyone just listening to Kendrick's album out of FOMO? Maybe intellectual FOMO lol. Also, does Young Thug deserve more of our sympathy than say...Johnny Depp? Speaking of Johnny, whose side are you on...Johnny or Amber? How do we even begin to sympathise in such a situation as Stan tells a crazy Netflix tale about a doctor who ran a fertility clinic and donated HIS sperm to father over 20 kids, unbeknownst to the mothers that he was using his sperm! We wrap up the episode with Uno's unfortunate story of jail and how a new, more compassionate approach to the police could be the solution for the future. You ever been to jail for anything weed related?Roll one up for this one!
