The Covid Archives by Nathan Zekveld: https://www.amazon.com/COVID-Archives... ----- In the episode I was trying to throw around some numbers about the plague in Wittenberg in Luther's time, but since it has been a few years I was off a bit. For reference, the bubonic plague had a case-death rate of 30% - 60%. Many people fled the city of Wittenberg in 1527 when the plague came. In his letter Luther mentions a number of people who stayed behind and died. His judgment was that the plague was not one of the worst, all things considered, and that the greatest evil to come from it was not the deaths but the scattering of the people from the city.
