We bid farewell to more than one “father” and get the Brimby send-off we were hoping for!The rings continue to trade hands and Galadriel’s duel with Sauron does not disappoint, but what chance do the free peoples of Middle Earth stand against such evil? And did we get our first reference to “the One Ring to rule them all”?Even with an incredible season now behind us, we look forward with eager anticipation for what’s in store “Now let the song begin!”Lastalliancepodcast@gmail.comInstagram: @lastalliancepodcast
In our final sit-down before the finale, we revisit Elrond in the mud, Adar’s glowing face, the kiss heard across Middle-Earth, and the trouble in Khazad-Dum. Also, is there more to Narvi than meets the eye?Which characters are doomed to die in the finale? Will the Stranger learn his name? Will Gluk get his revenge? And what will be the last shot of the season?Send us your bold predictions before the finale at Email: lastalliancepodcast@gmail.comInstagram: @lastalliancepodcast“Fight with me,so all the world can see that dwarven loyalty is a force stronger than any sorcery, more powerful than any army, deeper than the bones of the earth! Will you fight with our friends?!”
Doomed to die as he may be, Brimby sure does shine in the penultimate episode of Season 2. The Rings of Power are complete but are quickly changing hands as the veil over Sauron's disguise is finally pulled back. Elrond and Galadriel play "Escape Artists", but was their act more than just good tactics? And in the face of epic and utter defeat, where do our heroes go from here?Send us your predictions for the final shot of next week's finale to be read and discussed in our second breakfast recap!"It is not strength that overcomes darkness, but light."Email: LastAlliancePodcast@gmail.comInstagram: @lastalliancepodcast
“Ye rings of men….what pride is woven in your inmost self?” Could there be a better description of the future WEARERS of The Nine? Will we see redemption arcs for the likes of Earien, Arondir, or a certain “dark” character? And exactly what choice will the Stranger have to make to earn his staff, name, color, and a new wardrobe?“Your friend, or your destiny.”LastAlliancePodcast@gmail.comInstagram: @lastalliancepodcast
The chess pieces are set for the siege of Eregion, the Stranger’s last trial from The Secret Fire, a civil war in Numenor, and the completion of Brimby’s rings of power. Is Annatar manipulating reality, or just Brimby’s mind? And what’s a Durin to do as he watches his father dig deeper into the allure of his ring?
“It is hardly mercy to ask a man to set his integrity aflame.”

This week's Second Breakfast menu features an extra heaping of Annatar fueling conspiracy among the elven smiths, with sides of Greed in Numenor and Khazad-Dum. We respond to your questions and comments and evaluate the trending theory of a budding "Mirdan-nnatar" relationship."I think it's been here. I think it's been here among us all along.”lastalliancepodcast@gmail.comInstagram: @lastalliancepodcast
The pace is picking up as Durin, blinded by greed, has taken the dwarven rings of power without question. How do these rings compare with the elven rings and Annatar’s plans for the rings for men? Speaking of future ring-wraiths, Kemen and Earien strengthen their case for “most likely to be voted by the audience to endure an eternity of suffering and enslavement to Sauron”. Elendil, meanwhile, shows his quality, but to the expense of a friend’s life, and Celebrimbor is starting to put the pieces together all too late.“Your path is made of seawater. Take care to keep your feet beneath you. It’s a long way to the bottom.”Send us your comments at lastalliancepodcast@gmail.com or on Instagram: @lastalliancepodcast
“We’ve had one, yes. But what about Second Breakfast?”The Last Alliance is here to bring you some mid-week Rings of Power reflections: Is Tom Bombadil afraid? Are there fans that actually enjoy watching Arondir? What sacrifices will Elrond and Galadriel have to make?We also respond to your questions and comments!Contact us at lastalliancepodcast@gmail.com and on Instagram @lastalliancepodcast
Old Tom Bombabil! Episode 4 introduced a new character, more information about the stranger, a developing feud between Galadriel and Elrond, and - most importantly for Kameron - more halflings! We talk about a unique scene that book readers will remember (just don’t get caught up in the chains). Vote in the poll and let us know who you think The Stranger is.Follow us on Instagram: @LastAlliancePodcastEmail: lastalliancepodcast@gmail.com
Sauron’s back! And his darkness is spreading across the realms of elves, dwarves, and men. The Last Alliance offers instant reaction to the first three episodes of Season 2, even after a bizarrely timed marathon release night planned by Amazon.“It is called humility and it is difficult for most, but it is the truest form of sight.” - Cirdan
With less than a week before Season 2 premiers, and a host of promo videos to analyze, we present what we know, what we’re looking forward to, and what concerns we have when it comes to the storyline. Vote in our poll on Instagram and Spotify for which of our bold predictions you like the most and leave us a comment telling us where we’re wrong!
“Every soul in Middle-Earth is in peril. WIll you abandon them to their doom?”
Join us as we discuss the first official trailer and behind the scense video for Season 2 of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”.
In the season finale, we discuss the coming out party for Sauron and Gandalf ( it IS Gandalf, right?). The three elven rings are forged, Numenor’s at a tipping point, Nori and the Stranger take off for Rhun, and Sauron’s finally found his dream home.
“When in doubt, always follow your nose.”

We’ll be honest, this episode was not our favorite. We criticize some of the directors’ choices to this point, and discuss whether we’ve finally witnessed Halbrand’s first outright lie. Also, did you know that Mt. Doom is in MORDOR?!
“It doesn’t matter - we’re all going to die anyway.” - Sadoc

BOOM! This explosive episode reviews the Battle of Tirahad, Galadriel’s interrogation of Adar, and a sizable assemblage of Arondir’s blunders.
We agree that the eruption of Mt. Doom is our favorite scene of the series. Let us know your favorite scenes from the Peter Jackson trilogies and add it to our list.

Kameron admits the Harfoot walking song wasn’t terrible. Elendil, Miriel & Co. are ACTUALLY leaving Numenor under the warning of awaiting darkness. An ethical dilemma for Elrond sets the stage for Durin to single-handedly shame the entire court of Gil-Galad.
“Hope is never mere . . . even when it is meager.”

Waldreg’s loyalties are made crystal clear: “Have you heard of him, lad? Have you heard of Sauron!?”
We discuss the Palantir and its history, and review Durin’s and Elrond’s daddy issues.

We’ve landed in Numenor and Halbrand is quick to make a first impression. A new candidate for Sauron is teased and the Harfoots show a darker side to their way of life. Choices to seek or refuse help from different groups of people may shape the destiny of some of our favorite characters.

The friendship of Elrond and Durin is an instant and enduring highlight of the show, yet Kameron and Brett predict a fracture before the end of the fifth season.
Relive the introductions of the Stranger and Halbrand, and what early clues were given to their identity early on.
“Where there is love, it is never truly dark.”
