One of the reasons I wanted to start my show was to celebrate the diversity of the Disney Lorcana community by providing space for people to be their best, authentic selves as we talk about the game we all love. This week, I wanted to take time to specifically talk about the importance of inclusivity and promoting a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, both locally and online.
With me today I have a wonderful and talented panel of guests: Matheus and Charlie of Inkborn Heroes, Sarah the Lorcana Librarian and Vince of Rules of Villainy!

Today’s movie is 6 of 29 in our series and we are getting exceedingly silly as we cover the 2000 film “An Extremely Goofy Movie.” And with me is someone who is known for providing insights on how to gain a competitive edge at Disney Lorcana and even taking home some impressive accolades, including a top 64 finish in Fort Worth and recently ending Day One at Vegas at in the 9th seed: he is Franz of Traverse Tavern!

Here at the Inn we have 999 Happy Haunted Glimmers, but there is room for 1000: Any Volunteers?
That's right goblins and ghoulies, it is a very special Halloween episode of the show and to celebrate, we are covering the most sinister glimmers of the Great Illuminary: the Villains of Disney Lorcana!
And with me, I have a wickedly perfect group of guests - they are the lawful evil trio of Brad, Andy and Kirsten of the Rules of Villainy Podcast!

On today's episode, I wanted to dive into the topic of what a TCG based team is. And to answer my questions, I went straight to the source of a group of rising stars in the competitive Disney Lorcana scene. They are a group of players from all over the country that can be recognized by their red and black jerseys with a formidable minotaur emblazoned on the front. They are Labyrinth TCG and with me today I have four members of the team: Humble, Wonder, and Manticore!

Here at the inn, we encourage our guests to take advantage of our extensive DVD and VHS library. However, we can’t spend all our budget on the fancy pants theatrical releases and instead we have curated the next best thing: Direct to Video Prequels and Sequels! Each episode, we will tell you the plot, discuss what we liked, discuss our concerns, determine if it was as good, better or worse than the original and lastly: do we think there should be cards in Disney Lorcana from the movie?
Today’s movie is 5 of 29 on my list of films and we are discussing Stitch! The Movie, released in 2003 and we are joined by Caroline/LorcanaBelle of Ladies Who Lore!

Even though summer is over, it’s time to get back on the tour bus and resume the Disney Lorcana Animation Eras Tour!
On last episode, we kicked of the tour with the Golden Era but today we embark on our second stop while we cover the hits of Silver Era, which lasted from 1950 to 1967. And with me is someone who I previously invited to talk about a much less thrilling movie of “Little Mermaid 2” but despite that, she still agreed to come back be on my show! She is one half of the iconic and charming duo, Live Laugh Lorcana, and you might have seen her more recently as an Official Caster for the Disney Lorcana Challenge in Toronto. She is the wickedly talented: Becky!

This past weekend we finally got to see what cards would shine in the Shimmering Skies Meta as 1889 illumineers battled it out in the Disney Lorcana Challenge in Las Vegas. The big question of the day was who would rise to the top of the big three going in to the weekend: Amethyst Ruby, Ruby Sapphire or Steel Song?
With me today is a return guest who experienced her very first time competing in a DLC event. She is the queen of homebrewed decks who has a deep fondness of spiciness and Mufasa: Lindsey or, as you might know her, Illumiqueer_Lindz!
My goal today is to talk about mental health and how it relates to TCGs and hopefully start a dialogue that allows everyone to understand themselves a little bit better.
With me today is someone I am VERY excited to introduce you to. He is a board certified psychiatrist who has been playing TCGs for over two decades and, frankly, I think he is very cute. He is Doctor Jeffrey Wentz, or as I like to call him: My husband Jeff!

Somehow, even though it feels like I just battled for an Ursula yesterday, we are mere weeks away from another round of Set Championships. We also have two more North American Challenge events ahead of us with Las Vegas later this month and Seattle in October.
So that leads to the big question that eternally looms over all Illumineers: What deck should I bring if I want to win?
With me today are some very talented Lorcana players who have also been faced with this very conundrum. Ellie of Sprinkle of Ink and Brandon of BSquared24!

This past weekend was perhaps the most unique Disney Lorcana Challege yet - Not only was it first Challenge in Canada, but it was a very unique meta: while Shimmering Skies was not yet legal for play, the bucky ban was finally in place.
With me today are four other attendees who each had the opportunity to compete in the event: Matheus and Charlie of the Inkborn Heroes and Dan and Kylie of The Forbidden Mountain!

As of August 18, 2024, Disney Lorcana has officially been out and in the hands of Illumineers for a full year. That means a year of questing, a year of collecting and, my favorite part, a year of watching the community grow.
I am so honored to say that with me today are some of the very people that paved the way for me to not learn about this game, but also inspired me to jump into the community as a content creator myself: Citizens of Lorcana. And with me today is the founder of the show, Jared, his cohost, James and honorary cohost and all around Lorcana Enthusiast, Adara.

As some of you may have seen, this past weekend was the D23 Fan Event, which featured events and offerings from Ravensburger and Disney Lorcana. There were so many exciting things going on, from a Learn to Play Event before the weekend kicked off, to meeting the developers, creators and artists to even catching some exciting new announcements!
To recap the past week of D23 and Lorcana news, I am joined by Monica and Patrick of LorcanaDuo!

Here on Tournament Talk we have already talked to competitors and a judge about the recent Disney Lorcana Challenge at Fort Worth, but there are so many other people who are at the Challenge Weekends working hard to make the magic possible. One of the most visible roles that people all over the world had a chance to share the experience with is the role of the Official Casters of the Tournament.
Our guest today is the lovely and talented: Rebekah! Join us as we talk about making content, the joy of watching children flourish in the community (Congrats to her son for making Set Champs Top 4!) and what it has been like watching the evolution of the Challenges with a "Diablo's Eye View" as a member of the casting team at the North American tournaments so far!

Today we are diving into movie is 3 of 29 with the 2004 prequel, Lion King 1 ½, which I am very excited about because I have heard it’s one of the more popular of the Disney Prequel and Sequel Library - although it really isn’t a prequel or sequel - perhaps just a “Quel”. With me today is someone who is one half of the charming wife and husband team that has been providing insights and interviews covering Disney Lorcana since September of last year. She is the charming and effervescent: Erin of the Illumiteers!

Another Disney Lorcana Challenge come and gone but this one was extra special to me because I finally was able to attend in person! Myself and 1825 other illumineers showed up to compete, but even more illumineers were there to support their friends and family members, compete in side events and provide support running the event though casting, judging, vending and organizing the weekend for all of us to enjoy!
With me today are four other attendees who each enjoyed the weekend in their own way!

What an honor it is to say these words to you tonight: Welcome to the Eras Tour!
It is summer and I have for you the hottest ticket in town! It is a tour through the eras we all know and love: the Disney Animation Eras.
As some followers of the show may have picked up on, I am a huge fan of Disney history and sharing facts about the legacy of Disney animation. So I wanted to create this series to dive into the lore of each animation era, discuss what cards we have already seen that pull from that time period and sit down as "Armchair Illumineers" and talk about what cards we hope to see introduced into the Great Illuminary.
We are kicking the tour off at the place where it all started: the Golden Age. And with me is someone who is herself a golden light in the Lorcana community. From her humorous shorts, her candid perspectives on her own journey as a player and her technical prowess as caster for the Disney Lorcana Challenge events, she really is a treasure in our community. She is the lovely and talented: Rebekah!
Now here at the inn, we encourage our guests to take advantage of our extensive DVD and VHS library. However, we can’t spend all our budget on the fancy pants theatrical releases and instead we have curated the next best thing: Direct to Video Prequels and Sequels!
Today’s movie is 2 of 29 on my list of films and we are discussing Mulan II, released in 2004 and we are joined by Katie from the show Live, Laugh, Lorcana!

Today I am very excited to have an episode where I really get to dig into some Disney Lore, or as I like to call it: Lore Galore. If you are listening to this show, I assume you have heard of Disney Lorcana, but did you know that there was a Disney Card game long before the first Lorcana Card was printed?
To dive into this chapter of Disney history, I have a very, very special guest: Francis Dominic!

As we head into Disney Lorcana’s second Set Championships and try to navigate the meta with the newest cards from Ursula’s Return, it can be a little overwhelming to know what it takes to be successful in a competitive atmosphere. That is why I am thankful that people like today’s guest are around to provide inspiration to the community.
Our guest today is someone that has quickly grown to a crowd favorite in the competitive Lorcana scene and it’s easy to see why - he manages to rise to the top, recently qualifying for the North American Continental Championships while also bringing us all along with him on the journey while candidly sharing the highs and lows of competitive play: Zach Bivens!
