In episode 37 of the lure fishing podcast I catch up with top bass angler Marc Cowling. It has been nearly two years since we had him on last and he has been up to so much since. From expanding his business, lure development with Westin, updating his first book and catching lots of bass in between, Marc shows he is one of the most hard working and knowledgeable anglers out there. In this episode if the Lure Fishing Podvast i chat with David Lyons from Tackling Minds. Tackling minds was formed in February 2020 David Lyons was inspired to start Tackling Minds, as he had suffered from past mental health problems, and fishing played a vital role in him managing his illness. He claims that if it wasn’t for fishing, he doesn’t think he’d be here to tell his story. David now wants to pass on his knowledge, gained from his own experiences, to show other people how fishing can benefit them too.  And so, sitting on the bank with his rods in his hands, Tackling Minds was born. Tackling Minds aims to get people, from all walks of life, into fishing. Be it, Mental Health, Social Deprivation, addiction and recovery, disabilities, Families and Long-Term Health. The work Tackling Minds has done so far is amazing. The NHS now prescribes fish as a treatment for depression on the NHS as a direct result of Tackling Minds. This is a lovely conversation with a great guy very worth a listen.

In Episode 27 of the Lure Fishing Podcast I catch up with passionate bass angler Matt Cumbers. In 2017 Matt decided that he wanted to try design and produce his own lures. It was then Drift was born and fast forward to 2024 Drift Lures are with over 100 tackle suppliers in the UK and Ireland. Matt is passionate about his lure fishing and he gives a great insight into what it takes to get from concept stage to actual designing and creating a lure that not only works well but is durable and affordable. If you have ever though about designing your own lure as many of us have, this is a really interesting conversation. Matt is very passionate about his lure making and shares some of the vast knowledge that he has gained through the designing and testing of his lures. Drifts ethos is not just to sell lures, but to innovate, teach and promote conservation.

Danny is an original angling influencer and all round social media guru He has a huge passion for all types of angling in particularly Bass and Wrasse fishing. What a way to kick of the first episode of 2024 with the one and only Matt Hayes. Matt is known worldwide for his angling exploits and his knowledge of angling is second to none. Currently based in his salmon fishing lodge on the Gaula river in Norway Matt takes time out to chat about all thing angling, including catching his epic 50lb Salmon. From his Salmon fishing in Norway to his pioneering of lure fishing in the UK, his love of his home stretch on the river Severn and so much more in between. This is a fascinating and captivating chat with a legend of angling.

I have started using the app myself recently and I am really enjoying it. It is very user friendly and amount of data generated from it is really interesting and usefull. Andy's knowledge of so many aspects of lure fishing is second to none and he is a fantastic friendly guy. In this podcast he gives so much advice and tells us about his many fishing adventures including a recent trip to Norway targeting flat fish from the shore on lures. in this episode of the Lure Fishing Podcast I catch up top multi species angler Dawid Kopczynski. Dawid originally from Poland is now based on the east coast of Ireland. He is a self taught angler who honed his skills over many years in various angling disciplines. An excellent bass angler also Dawid gives some great advice from experiences he has gained while figuring out the coastline himself. We chat about all things fishing including bass, pollack perch, pike, flounder and conger fishing. This is another fascinating episode not too be missed.

In another fantastic episode of the summer sessions on the lure fishing podcast we have great chat with top bass angler Emlyn O Toole. Emlyn based in County Wexford is one of the most skillful bass anglers out there. He has developed an immense watercraft skillset. In this episode he shares some of his secrets which has helped him catch some big bass including two double figure fish in one day. Emlyn is very humble and great guy he is the ultimate bass angling Ninja.

Juan Pienaars passion is second to none when it comes to bass fishing.
