Well, look what the Molerat dragged in. Folks in these parts call me Trader Red, and I heard tell that ya’ll are newcomers to old Appalachia. Mind you, these hills aren’t quite what they used to be…full of Super Mutants, Ghouls…things we call Scorched, and a cryptid or two might cross your path. But you’re darn lucky to have little old me as your tour guide. See, I ain’t from around these parts…I’m a backwoods Tennessee gal, through and through, but let’s just say that Appalachia is my home away from home.Figure you guessed the whole Trader part, right? I’m the best at finding the things folks need…guns, ‘shine, and the odd doo-dad and thingamajig that might tickle your fancy. And finding those things means I go all over…from Morgantown to Lewisburg, and Berkeley Springs to Watoga, no one knows these hills like Trader Red.So, if you wanna see the sights, learn some history, and not get eaten at the same time, follow old Trader Red here as we wander through the Wasteland of post-war Appalachia, and maybe, just maybe, uncover some juicy tidbits and secrets along the way.
There is an old saying in the Wasteland…War, war never changes. Humanity’s progress was defined by our conflicts…over land…over ideas…and finally over the resources needed to fuel that very progress. On October 23rd, 2077, the Great War reached its climax and nuclear fire rolled across the planet. It only took a single day to wipe human civilization from the earth, nearly humanity itself.  Our weapons had become terrifyingly powerful…but war, war never changes. In the years since, the survivors were caught in a constant struggle against the horrors of mutation and radiation…beset by the rising tide of barbarism…and authoritarian remnants, utilizing technology from the old world to attempt to conquer the new. A new tune and new dance partners, but war, war never changes. In the Capital Wasteland, one such conflict pitted the Enclave from Raven Rock against the forces of Elder Lyon’s Brotherhood of Steel to secure the technology of Project Purity and the promise of clean drinking water…and all the power and influence that comes with it.Ending in the destruction of the Enclave at Adams Air Force Base, it appeared that yet another bloody chapter of human conflict had come to a close…again, without our species learning any meaningful lessons.Or had it?Fleeing the destruction, a single damaged Vertibird struggled to maintain altitude as it crossed over the broken landscape…and unknowingly headed to a date with destiny, nearly two hundred years in the making.
On October 23rd, 2102, the residents of Vault 76 stepped out into the new world of post-war Appalachia. The twenty-five years spent in the safety and security of the Vault could not prepare them for what was to come. Those same residents became the heroes and villains of a much larger story…one that has finally led us all here, to the final tale of our Appalachia. As one story ends, it is but the beginning of many others. Putting the blasted and blighted wastes behind them, our characters walk forward into a brand new future.
From the moment the residents of Vault 76 stepped outside into the Wasteland of Appalachia their story has been leading to this moment. One final, desperate battle is being fought to determine the fate of not only Appalachia, but the future of humanity itself...Join us as our story reaches its thrilling climax!
"What was that, Spike? Visitors? Oh Wow, I wonder if any of them want to go hug a Deathclaw!"But seriously, welcome to Top of the World all you wanna-be Raiders & Goons! I’m Rose, the local RaiderBot extraordinaire! It seems like your normal host, that Stuffed Shirt calling himself the Operative appears to have departed this mortal coil or some such nonsense. From here, y'all have a fantastic view of all the chaos that Appalachia has to offer. While the Whitespring might be a smoking crater, I hear tell that the old missile silos are ready to pop and that tough old Colonel is making one last throw of the dice to do something about it.Doesn’t matter to me…I’m a bot and all, but hey, if you want to root for her, go right ahead!Vault Town is getting stomped and everyone is running for the Ohio…and old Trader Red and her pet Deathclaw are gonna try to convince the Cult of the Mothman to let them go.Good luck with that!Anyway, Appalachia is coming apart at the seams and I am so here for it! So, sit back, join me for a dose or two of Psycho, and we’ll watch the fireworks together!
Plans within plans…moves and countermoves. The PACT unleashes their Oni on Vault Town while finishing their work in the Silos. MODUS has a front row seat to the new apocalypse as he watches from the lens of the Kovac Muldoon. With one last throw of the dice, Valeria puts her desperate plan into motion to save the future…Stein finds his life coming full circle, allied with SODUS to ensure a final confrontation with MODUS…and the chance at true redemption for the sins of the past.As the defenders of Vault Town prepare to lay down their lives to give the refugees of Appalachia time to escape, the column of civilians finds itself in even greater danger, caught between the Cultists at Point Pleasant and the Oni now advancing behind them. It’s up to Trader Red to convince the crazed cultists to let the civilians pass…and if she fails, Point Pleasant will once again become the graveyard of what remains of Appalachia. And at Silo Bravo, Valeria and her team face nearly insurmountable odds…In these final hours, “they who sow the wind, shall reap the whirlwind.”
When the residents of Vault 76 stepped foot onto the soil of Appalachia on October 23rd, 2102, they expected to begin the process of rebuilding a new world out of the ashes of the old.Instead, they found themselves engulfed in a cycle of violence against unspeakable horrors and unimaginable threats. Just as the original survivors of Appalachia made their last stand against the Scorched, the residents of Vault Town and the remaining members of the factions of the region face their own final battle. The PACT is nearly ready to launch their plague-ridden missiles, to forever change the course of human history, while MODUS prepares his own plans to help craft a future encased in metal. In the face of the onrushing tide, the survivors find a moment of peace in the calm before the storm as they cling to some small measure of hope, even as they prepare for what could be the end for them all.The Colonel prepares for one final mission, while Stein and SODUS plot their revenge against MODUS.Desperate times require desperate measures…and Appalachia will not go gently into that good night, instead raging against the dying of the light.
Dr. Lucius Alistair once fancied himself a god among men. In his hands, the Forced Evolutionary Virus allowed him to reshape the human genome into his own twisted vision of perfection. Before his experiments in Vault 76, before Lilith...Lucius left a secret legacy deep within the walls of the Eastern Regional Penitentiary. Long thought lost, Site C could contain a treasure trove of research and could be the key to unlocking FEV’s full potential.Lilith and her team prepare to investigate the old prison, so she can claim her legacy…but the PACT is hot on their trail, eager to claim those secrets for themselves. In an epic confrontation behind the old prison walls, Lilith will face off against her fiercest opponent even as Appalachia begins tearing itself about around them.Far to the South, Trader Red and her band of survivors find themselves trapped by the Oni…a desperate message was sent to Vault Town and help is on the way, but will it arrive on time? The final tales of Appalachia are being told…and the future is still uncertain.
In collaboration with the CHAD Podcast, we were selected to provide an episode for a new Anthology Series, "Frontier: Stories from Starfield"Here is ours....As mankind spread itself to the stars, it was impossible to leave behind the worst aspects of human nature. Nowhere is that more in evidence than on the water planet of Volii Alpha, home to Neon…the city of Lights.Once a mere fishing platform built by the Xenofresh Corporation, the floating city is now home to the largest tourist attraction and trading hub in all of the Settled Systems. The lifeblood of the city is Aurora, a powerful narcotic, illegal everywhere but right here.Beneath the glitz and glamour, carefully orchestrated corruption rules the city streets. Neon Security keeps the gangs in check, while maintaining the peace…and everyone gets paid. But when a new player arrives in town, upsetting the balance of power, a war breaks out in the shadows…When the chips are down and the knives come out, knowing who to trust is the difference between life and death. Welcome to Neon…
Hello members, welcome to our 2024 Christmas special! While we may not all celebrate the same holiday, we all agree that our little Enclave brings us joy, no matter the time of year. This time, we take a break from our established characters and present to you our very special adaptation of an old classic that we call "A Christmas Carole"
Before the bombs dropped, the Enclave spread its tendrils across Appalachia, co-opting regional military facilities for their own use. When President Eckhart assumed control of the Whitespring, he expanded the faction’s research facilities to further his plan to end the war with China once and for all…a plan that ended in ruin. Stein now leads Valeria and a hand-picked team to one such facility, only known as Site J, to scour it for weapons and armor…and more importantly, a potential ally against the PACT and MODUS. However, the enemy of my enemy isn’t always a friend…and long lost secrets can come with a heavy price.  Meanwhile, Lilith and her own team start their trek to unlock her father’s secrets underneath the Eastern Regional Penitentiary…with the PACT close on their heels. And Trader Red and company try to contact Vault Town, only to find that they may have gone from the frying pan into the fire.
We present another very special episode in a new short series called “Behind the Characters.” Over the three seasons of The MODUS Files, we have had the distinct honor to work with a group of amazing voice actors who have brought our characters to life. This is an opportunity to hear directly from our cast as they introduce themselves, the characters they play, and their thoughts about our journey through post-apocalyptic West Virginia. In this episode, we’ll hear from two extremely prolific voice actors, responsible for some of the most iconic characters of the series thus far. Krissi Williams, the voice of Trader Red, among many others, and Chris Smith, who is both known as the Mel Blanc & Sean Bean of our show. So please enjoy an intimate conversation with these two wonderful Voice Actors and take another peek behind the bunker, as we learn more about our cast here on The MODUS Files.
With the arrival of the Colonel and her band of New Enclave survivors, the remaining factions of Appalachia have regrouped at Vault Town. Facing nearly impossible odds, they’ll have to pool their resources if they stand any chance at all against what’s coming. Amidst the chaos, Stein and Sofia find their moment of happiness…for whatever time they have…a light against the darkness. Trader Red still has a few loose ends to tie up at Big Bend and soon finds that Appalachia isn’t quite done with her yet. While inside the PACT, the Council has a confrontation of its own…where the past and future are on a collision course. Despite the rising threat, not everyone sees Valeria as a shining beacon of hope…and a single act could change everything.
Greetings, members, as always, I am the Operative, your tour gui- HAHAHA, actually, it's me, Chris! Welcome to our 2024 Halloween special. If you're wondering where the Operative is, he'll be here shortly. In the meantime, join us for this special episode where some of our characters learn that solving a killing can really be murder. And sometimes... it can be hard to get a clue
The lights have gone out all over Appalachia…just a few settlements remain as the PACT and MODUS stretch out their hands to crush any resistance to their plans. Foundation faces its final reckoning, even as Ward’s desperate plan to ensure the safety of its civilians is put into action, while the Colonel finally arrives at Vault Town, on the wings of a stolen PACT Vertibird. The remaining factions of Appalachia look to Valeria for answers and a plan to fight back against the rising darkness…but it may already be too late. Trader Red finds herself back at Big Bend Tunnel as her story comes full circle…and Vinny Costas may learn the hell hath no fury like a Crytpid scorned. Appalachia is descending into darkness and time is running out…but hope still remains, however slight…that the best laid plans of mice and men could still be turned aside.
We present a very special episode in a new short series called “Behind the Characters.” Over the three seasons of The MODUS Files, we have had the distinct honor to work with a group of amazing voice actors who have brought our characters to life. This is an opportunity to hear directly from our cast as they introduce themselves, the characters they play, and their thoughts about our journey through post-apocalyptic West Virginia. In this episode, we’ll hear from the Colonel herself, Valeria Faustina, played by Pandora Beatrix, our very Voice of MODUS, Brad Williams, and Private Douglas, voiced by Eric Gold. Each of these wonderful voice actors have also played many other characters as our story has progressed, and they’ll touch on several of them as well. So please enjoy another peek behind the bunker, as we learn more about our cast here on The MODUS Files.
MODUS has discovered the location of the New Enclave survivors and the AI hates loose ends…and it will do whatever is required to eliminate them.  Frederick Rivers has one last card to play to help Valeria and the others escape, but at a terrible cost. The PACT begins their next phase of Operation Keystone…and Vertibirds return to the air above Appalachia, spreading their deadly cargo…while unleashing their Oni on the unsuspecting populace below. At Foundation, surrounded by Super Mutants, Trader Red discovers unlikely allies to aid in her quest for revenge, while Vinny tries to salvage his own plans for the Blue Ridge Caravan. And Valeria discovers that Uncommon Valor is more common than it seems, as desperate times demand desperate sacrifices.

I understand same-sex couples and everything but this many lesbian couples in this show is just getting exhausting. you only get maybe one same-sex couple to relate to.

really not digging the voice actress that they picked to play Meg. I'm sure she's a great actress as far as voice actors go but it just doesn't vibe with Meg's actual character

My younger brother and I are fairly close to each other, but unfortunately don't spend much time together due to me working and him going to a boarding school a few hours away from me. I know it sounds cheesy to say, but this podcast does let me spend just a bit of time with him. We are both fans of the show, and when a new episode does come, me and him listen to it, and in the evening we talk for an hour or two about it. What we liked or didn't like about it. What do we think is going to happen in the next episode and debate who the best character is. I don't see my family much anymore, but those little phone calls from him, all excited to talk, warms my heart. I know this isn't a proper review and all, but I just gotta say this podcast has got a special place in my heart because of what I've said above. Here's to good season 2 guys.

this is one of the better fallout 76 story podcast. you can tell the author and team want to tell a great story. portrayed in a meaning that is easy to follow along and understand. My only critique is that the downloads have a volume issue and the volume could be a little bit louder.
