Welcome back! In this episode, we discuss all things related to black history- why do we celebrate every October? Is this a token gesture? We hear interesting thoughts about media representation of black people and we end the episode with some thoughtful reflection on some inspirational black women.

Keep up the hard work year 11!
In our final episode of 2021, the podcasters get competitive with a festive quiz and we hear some new year's resolutions. Have any resolutions you want to share with us too? Email us at mayfieldpodcast@mayfieldschool.net! Perhaps we can share these in a future episode.

In this week's episode we take a trip down memory lane to one of our earlier episodes where Mr Rahman and some of our podcasters debated what subject they'd remove from school. Spoiler Alert: they decided to give up languages!
But Ms. O'Brien, our esteemed Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Mayfield, is not having any of it! She joins us this week to convince us all that languages deserved saving.

In this episode we discuss regret. Students and teachers tell us what they think about regret and why. Feel free to drop as an email at mayfieldpodcast@mayfieldschool.net if you have something you'd like to share on the podcast too.
Episode 9: Neurodiversity, Diwali, Embarrassing Story and Overused Phrases in the Classroom!
Episode 8: Squid Game analysis, Black History Month poetry and LGBTQ+ speech
In our final episode before the half-term, the Mayfield podcasters have a discussion about public figures and privacy. Do we think public figures like celebrities and politicians have the right to privacy? Or do we have different rules for them?
We are also glad to be joined by some new voices on the podcast this week. Listen to the episode to hear who they are!
Happy half-term Mayfield!
We're back for another episode! This week we have two interesting discussions: some year 11s convince Miss Iqbal that it's better to lie than be lied to and one of our year 9 students has a chat with her dad about the pros and cons of social media. And for our fun and games this week, we have students play 'Would I Lie to You?', the game where they try and convince one another that they are telling the truth. Can you guess correctly?
In this week's episode, our year 10s and fellow Mayfield students share their thoughts on whether tests can really show what you've learned. Did our advice for years 7s in episode 3 work? Tune in to hear from some year 7s and find out how they've been enjoying Mayfield so far. And for our fun and games this week, we play 'Would you rather?'.
In this episode of the podcast, we listen to some year 10s and Mayfield teachers discuss what it means to be similar or different to others, we spotlight different cultures, and we even have a fun trivia game! As always, get in touch! You never know- we may give you a shoutout in a future episode? Our contact email is mayfieldpodcast@mayfieldschool.net
Oh and how could we forget- this is the first time we have a blooper reel- you're in for a treat!
In this episode, we return after the summer holidays to a lively debate about the new phone ban, listening to year 10s share their impassioned thoughts; we welcome the year 7s with some useful (and questionable?) advice from fellow Mayfield students; we have a fun debate about chocolate and red velvet cake and end with some entertaining riddles.
We've got the new Head Boy and Head Girl in for a discussion with Ms Iqbal in the last of our summer features and they're giving us an insight on the process, advice for school, and some sneak peaks of what they're looking to do for the school. It's a promising year coming up so listen in and hear what they have in store!
In this second episode of our Summer feature discussions, Ms Iqbal and Mr Rahman are talking with some year 9s and year 12s about what the whole point of school actually is and if it's all being done right. Listen in and do message in at mayfieldpodcast@mayfieldschool.net to be a part of the discussion!
Over the summer, we're going to be sharing some discussions we've had at the school over the last term and we're starting with some of those that have left. Mr Rahman talks with the Year 11s from Poetry Club with their reflections on what it's been like to be at school and what it might be like going forward.
In this second episode of the Mayfield Podcast, we're getting into some heated debates from a discussion of Marvel vs Harry Potter, through some intense questioning of Mr Rahman, to a major philosophical debate that asks you to look in on what you would do in a very tricky situation. Tune in, check it out and subscribe to the podcast too!
In this very first episode of the Mayfield podcast, we figure out what subject we're removing from the school if we ever get the chance, we play a game of Would I Lie to You with Ms Iqbal, and we give our insights on the Euros, at first with some thoughts around the school, then with Yusra and Mo, before turning to Mr Ahmed with some pensive reflections. At the very end, we hear from Eeman with a final thought of the day. And of course, we've got some sounds from around the school as we go!
