Joe and Danny do deep dives into what’s going on with Francisco Lindor, Edwin Diaz, and the third base platoon of Brett Baty and Mark Vientos. Later, the guys bust the Mailbag wide open to answer questions about the high number of walks dished out by the pitching staff, whether or not Jeff McNeil has any trade value, offseason free agent targets to improve the offense, and also both sides of the MLB Trade Deadline - including what the Mets could do as either sellers or buyers this season. Finally, the show goes Down on the Farm to cover the recent promotions of prospects Blade Tidwell and Nolan McLean, and the overall aggressiveness of the organization towards minor league promotions so far in 2024. Connor Rogers and Joe DeMayo welcome a very special guest to The Mets Pod presented by Tri-State Cadillac, as Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns stops by the show! Connor and Joe talk to Stearns about learning the organization, his relationship and process with skipper Carlos Mendoza, managing the overall roster, the hires of Kris Gross and Andy Green in scouting and player development, and the possibilities of a 6-man starting rotation for the Mets in 2024 and potentially across MLB in the future. The guys also ask Stearns about his bullpen construction strategy, being back in NY where he grew up, what it was like interning for the Mets after college, his thoughts on developing young players, and his Mets Pod Mount Rushmore of the four best Mets games he ever attended as a fan. Later, the show goes Down on the Farm to discuss the promotions of prospects Ryan Clifford and Brandon Sproat, recaps the Mets vs Braves series, and opens the Mailbag to answer questions about future Mets pitching staffs, prospect Nick Lorusso, and whether or not Mark Vientos or Ronny Mauricio could eventually be options to replace Jeff McNeil at second base. Connor Rogers and Joe DeMayo drop an all-new episode of The Mets Pod presented by Tri-State Cadillac, as the Mets continue to win some, lose some, and shake up the pitching staff. Connor and Joe wrap up an uneven road trip, examine the moves made by manager Carlos Mendoza, break down the debut of Christian Scott, and do a deep dive on the season so far for Pete Alonso. Later, the guys go Down on the Farm for a status report on pitching prospect Blade Tidwell, set up a Braves series-themed round of The Scoreboard, and answer Mailbag questions about the next Mets prospect to make an impact for the big league club, how to handle the return of Tylor Megill, and thoughts about Pete Alonso’s upcoming free agency. I really enjoy listening to your podcast, but in this instance you didn't appear to think things through. You lose credibility when discussing the bullpen, which is this team's most major deficit. Trevor Gott should be as far away from the Mets as the east is from the west. No mention of Bickford, Reid-Foley or Garrett is simply negligent. What about the young arms from the farm?
