Welcome to The MewX Podcast!
Mew dropped a bombshell on everyone last week. Jonas Bjerre is leaving the band. We've been recording a few episodes for the upcoming season 6 of the podcast, but were not planning on releasing anything just yet. However, this announcement changed our plans a bit, as we give you our reactions to the news. We also decided to add our recording for The Wake of Your Life to the episode, as we saw how it thematically could fit in.
We'll be back releasing weekly episodes later this year, as our recordings of Season 6 progresses, so stay tuned!

Welcome to The MewX Podcast!
This week we're joined by the brain behind the Themes For Great Cities project, Alex Maiolo. Alex, Jonas Bjerre, Jonas Kaarnamets, Erki Pärnoja and the city of Tallinn, released an album earlier this month, of music made largely on modular synths, performed live at Tallinn Music Week. It's an inspirational talk about how the four guys and one city came together, creating music and a great friendship. We also hear about how they made the album, Alex's musical inspirations, his relationship with Mew, modern ways of creating and consuming music versus old, and much more.
The album is available on limited edition red vinyl, pressed at Citizen Vinyl in Asheville, NC, and digital download on moroderikmusik.bandcamp.com.

This week we're drawing cartoons with guest frenger Martha, to discuss the epic number from 2009's No More Stories..., Cartoons and Macramé Wounds. Is this one song, or multiple songs in one? What is Jonas singing about? And which nu-metal band is brought up when discussing the song title? Listen to the episode, and you may or may not find the answers to all these questions. What do you think of when you listen to this song?

We celebrate the holidays together with MewX founder, Tero, and talk about the beautiful song from, And the Glass Handed Kites, White Lips Kissed, in both its English and Japanese form. Welcome to The MewX Podcast!
In the late 1990s, a young American girl, then known as Becky Jarrett, got in touch with a Danish band by the name of Mew. Together they recorded the song Symmetry. Little did she know that the song she recorded as a teenager, would still be played all over the world decades later. We're joined by Becky, now Wilson, as she shares her story of going to Copenhagen to record this iconic song.
