What are the effects of optimism? The list is long—from mental health benefits to physical health benefits, the effects of optimism can be far-reaching for both the optimist and those who come in contact with them. How could you be more optimistic?Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
Have you ever watched an athlete who had a bad day and couldn't seem to make a shot? And then see them turn it around and it seems like they couldn't miss? On hard days or in hard season sometimes we need to play to the point. Have a short sightedness that allows us to approach every new play with a clean slate. One way to help us do this is to release thoughts that do not serve us. What are the thoughts that do not serve you?Website: www. christinawilliamscoaching.com
What are you good at? What do you wish you were good at?Do you do things that you are not good at? It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that you have to be good at everything. You might avoid things you are not good at. You might not take the time to become good at things you could be good at with practice. Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
What is your engagement score? So often in corporate culture, we are given engagement scores based on a set of questions to determine how things are going in our jobs. Today I want you to consider your life. How engaged are you in your life? Are you all in and putting in discretionary effort? Are you interacting in life in a way that you want to? How often do you hear about toxic work environments? Toxic work environments are simply workplaces where bad behavior is normal. Hence, it is easy to fall into these patterns without consciously choosing to create the environment you want to work in. Take a moment to consider how to build a healthy work environment. Sometimes we hear really good ideas but they seem too much to implement sustainably in our lives. But do you think you could practice that idea just for today? Shortening the time period allows us to try things out and see if they improve our lives. What would you like to try, just for today?Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
Episode 168: Run Away

Episode 168: Run Away

2025-02-2406:17

What is your first response when things get difficult? Do you first want to run away? Do you first want to lean in? Do you first want to see if there is an easy solution? We all respond to difficult things in different ways. Often if we tend to run away we need help to learn to work through the difficulty so it isn't prolonged. Sometimes change is really easy. We simply adjust to the new circumstances and let the old patterns go. Other times change is very hard, the rewiring of our brains to a new situation takes longer and is more difficult than we expected. To help our brains make these adjustments we sometimes need to slow down a little and find stillness. That stillness gives us time. Try to find a little time for stillness this week. What are your expectations of yourself or others? How do those expectations affect your relationships? If we could drop a few expectations and fill that space with appreciation how would that change your life?Maybe give it a try this week.Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
Human incarnation. Have you ever really thought about being grateful for human incarnation? Grateful you are a human right now. Grateful you get to be alive. Grateful you get to have the experiences that humans have right now. Find a little time this week to be grateful you are a human, right here, right now. Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
Gratitude has power to change our futures. Now can we be grateful for the future that we will have ahead of time. Take some time this week to be grateful for the things, experiences, and lifestyle that you don't have yet. Being grateful always brings more things to be grateful for into our lives. Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
We are surrounded by humans. In our homes, our work places, our recreation centers and just walking down the street. Who in your life are you grateful for? Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
Who are you? What are all the little things that makeup who you are? How do you feel about all those little things? Can you find gratitude for who you are? Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
What lessons have you learned? Lessons come with good experiences. Lessons come with bad experiences. We are always learning. What lessons are you grateful for? Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
What are you grateful for? So often it is the little things but have you ever considered being thankful for the things that didn't happen or didn't work out? Sometimes when all the dust has settled and we look back this is easy. We can see that one thing didn't work out but it put us in the perfect position to welcome something even better into our lives. But can you find gratitude in the moment - when you still don't have the thing you really wanted or things are not quite resolved? This is your challenge this week - can you find some gratitude for things that didn't happen or didn't work out? Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
Focusing this week on the things that have happened in our lives and finding the energy of gratitude for them can allow us to enhance the good in our lives and recognize some ways our challenges have allowed for shifts or learning. What things have happened in your life that you are grateful for? Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
At the end of the year, I often like to revisit the topic of gratitude. Gratitude is an energy we can use to shift things, add to things, or help us enjoy things more. Though it's easy to say to ourselves that we should be grateful, I don't think gratitude needs to be a "should" in our lives. All emotions that we feel have a place to exist in our lives and gratitude is something we can practice when we are in any situation. We can feel sadness and have things we are genuinely grateful for too. Practice with me this week by simply acknowledging things that you are grateful for that you have. Website:www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
How often do we take things that are not ours? Usually, we are pretty good at not taking other people's things but sometimes we can struggle not to take on others' opinions, emotions, and emotional work. Where could you be taking things that are not yours? Website:www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
How we grow and manage our employees affects their well-being and the well-being of our business. This week we discuss paying employees more than we have to and not dragging our feet about taking care of things that need to be addressed. These two things combined with the ideas from the last two episodes will help you manage employees better. Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
How do we best grow in a position? One way is through adjusting to the feedback we receive from managers, coworkers, and clients. How can we give more feedback to our employees? How do we get good at giving feedback? It's often quite simple - we practice and we give feedback regularly. Website: www.christinawilliamscoaching.com
