Today's Minute is a quote that hit me this morning. It is from President Calvin Coolidge. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence Talent Will Not. There is nothing more common than unsuccessful People with talent Genius Will Not Unrewarded Genius is almost a proverb Education Will Not. The world is full of education derelicts. Persistence and Determination are Omnipotent #theminutepod #keepmovingforward #yougotthis
For out last looking back episode lets talk about how its important to appreciate people.
So this is one of my favorite videos. And the only reason why is because it was ridiculous.  It was supposed to be 107 degrees outside.  I had to rush out and do the recording earlier, which caused me to think about doing things differently.
An Old Monday Motivation to remind all of us to keep planting seeds.  You never know when seeds, planted with care will bear fruit, but in order to get a harvest you must keep planting. #keepmovingforward➡️ #theminutepod #mondaymotivation
Let's talk about difficulties.  They are going to happen.  Don't let them stop you.  Keep moving forward! #dontstop #theminutepod #motivation
I mentioned we're going to be taking a look at some of the old minute videos. So let's just jump right into it. And what better place to start than at the beginning. This is the very first video that I would classify as part of the minute series shot all the way back in 2017. On what looks like a potato, let's hear what I had to say. It is nice to see that I am consistent if nothing else. I do believe in you and I know you can do something amazing today! #theminutepod #motivation #beautifulmess
So, for the next few weeks, next few weeks next few videos, we're going to be talking about practice. Now, I've already stressed that enough inch by inch is a cinch, increase your reps.  The more you work, the more you practice, the better you get. But I want to use something or show you guys something over the next few videos to see the progression.  We talked about exploring the beautiful mess. So we're going to do that for the next few videos. I'm going to be grabbing some of my old minutes and sharing them with you so that you can see just where we've come from. So be on the lookout for those over the next few days.  And try not to laugh at them as hard as I did.
Welcome Back to the Minute 60 seconds, something interesting, just enough to get you started. I’m your host Carlton, lets begin. If the reason you are in a spiral is because of your own internal monologue, it is time to get a new narrator. Find someone who can look at things objectively. Someone you can trust. Talk to them. Share truth with that person or persons. Tell them you want to escape the spiral and work on a way to break the cycle.
Welcome Back to the Minute 60 seconds, something interesting, just enough to get you started. I’m your host Carlton, lets begin. Today I want to talk about one of the most useful loops that we can establish. It is called a feedback loop. This is a cycle of action followed by critique. This leads to improved action and so the loop goes. It requires a couple of things. You must first get started and you also need to be open to critique. One might be easier for you than the other, but you must have both. So what are you waiting for, go get started. And That’s The Minute
Welcome Back to the Minute 60 seconds, something interesting, just enough to get you started. I’m your host Carlton, lets begin. Over the next few sessions, I want to talk about loops. Everything that we do has a rhythm to it. We are creatures of habit, and we like patterns. Some can be incredibly useful. Others can be harmful. I want you to think about the patterns that you are in right now. What is working for you? What isn’t? If you want to do great things out there, you have to do the real work in here. And That’s the Minute.
Today I've got a practical minute for you. There's a task that I want you to accomplish for me. And for you. I want you to go out there and I want you to touch the dream. Whatever it is that you're trying to do, if it's a house that you want to live in, if it's a neighborhood you want to be in, if it's a car, you want to drive, a piece of tech you want to own, I want you to go out there and I want you to touch the dream. I want you to feel it in your hands or see it in with your eyes. I want you to drive through that neighborhood. Let that crystallize things for you. Let it become a tangible reminder of this is what I'm chasing after this is what I want, because it'll clarify things. It'll help you to make the right decisions. It'll help you prioritize. I want you to touch the dream.
I have a fear. And that fear drives me towards my goals. It's the fear of leaving the music behind, taking it with me when I go, that my goals, my dreams, my purpose, that all those things that I'm supposed to get out of me to share to put out into the world will get buried with me when I'm gone. There's a legacy that got me to the point where I am today. There are people who pushed me forward who lifted me up who created a foundation that I can stand on, and I don't want to leave that on the table. I want to make it so that it lives beyond me that others can pick up that same baton and continue forward. I do not want my music to die with me.
There's a beauty in messy beginnings. I've talked about this many times, and I said that you've got to stink first. But I want you to understand that it's not just about embarrassing yourself or being or looking foolish before others. I mean, there's a beauty in the messy beginning, because when people see the mess at the start, it encourages them to do something to step out to try something different. And as you get better and the growth is seen, it reminds people that they can crawl and get better every day. And then eventually when you're flying, you can remember that messy beginning and see the beauty.
Why are you here? That's the question. Not Why are you watching this video? Because I hope you like it. But why are you here? What is your purpose? What is the thing that drives you? What is the service that you provide? And I don't mean in the nine to five way like why are you go to your job and what do you do while you're there? I mean, what's the thing that really motivates you? How What brings you joy during your day when you are able to express that thing to the world? For me, I love telling stories For me, I love solving problems. For me, I love to point people towards fulfillment, ultimate truth, ultimate joy. So I asked you, why are you here?
Today I've got a question for you. And it's a fundamental question, a question meant to get at the heart of what it is you're trying to get accomplished. It's the one thing you've got to know if you want to really achieve those goals and dreams. Here's the question. Who are you? Not just your name, but your identity? Who are you? It helps you to prioritize your goals. It helps you to prioritize those dreams. It helps you to clarify what that next right thing is. So I asked you again, who are you? If you can answer that question, and even if you just have a small idea, you will find yourself propelled ever closer to that vision.

Celebrate, you've got to celebrate the wins. So we talk about not negotiating on our vision and on our goals. But that doesn't mean that we don't stop to look around and to touch the grass and smell the flowers.    You've got to celebrate every win. I mean, what's the point? What are we doing this for, if not, to have some level of excitement and enjoyment in the things that we're doing?    So I implore you to take time every day and at every milestone to celebrate the wins.
Use the anger. No, seriously, I want you to use the anger. There are going to be things that are going to happen along your journey that are going to ain't make you angry, they're gonna piss you off. And here's the thing that I want you to do.    Don't let that rage turn into something unproductive. I want you to use the anger. Let it drive you let it push you forward, let it get you moving. Let it energize you. Because when you you're going to need energy along the way.    So let those people who make you angry, push you even faster towards your goals
Today's minute is for my Marrieds, the folks who've made that commitment to another person. You've got to honor that commitment as well.    So as we talk about not negotiating on our vision and on our goals, you can't do these things in a vacuum. You've got to make sure that you are honoring the relationship that you're in as you go towards a vision.    So that means you've got to get with your spouse, and you've got to get buy in on what you're doing. Because when the two of you are walking together, you will see an even greater reward.
Commitment is the key to getting things done. If you can commit to it, you will see it through. But when we say commit, we don't mean commit in a squishy way. We don't mean commit in a... if it works out, I'll keep going kind of way.   I mean commitment when it looks ugly   Commitment, when it's hard   Commitment when it doesn't work the way we expect.   What if nothing changes, and it takes a year before any traction happens?    Will you be committed to seeing it through, you've got to have that level of commitment. Again, No Negotiating On Your Vision.

So over the weekend, I had the honor of performing a wedding. And when you go into a wedding, one of the things that is paramount is the commitment. And so the question I have for you today is are you committed to your vision?   Are you committed to the goals that you set and are you going to see them through?  Will you honor your word before yourself and do the things that you said you would do?   Because when you do that, when you put your whole self in, when you bring everything that you have to the table, you will see things happen, and they will be glorious
