In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly ask a provocative question. Do your results match your potential? John mentioned that when he was 50 years old, clearly his results did not match his potential. And seven years ago when John and Kelly met, Kelly’s results did not match her potential. For both of them there was more gas in the tank than was coming out. So why does that happen? Why don’t your results match your potential? The answer is obvious. It’s because 95% your daily thoughts and actions are unconscious. And since are unconscious, your conscious mind intelligence and intellect is not driving your actions. Yet those actions are the very thing that determine your success in life.To drive this point home further, John gives an example of his daily life with Ginger. How he reacts one way from reading his life GPS template each day versus being reactive and playing the game of life at a lower level when he wasn’t reading his life GPS template. John and Kelly then discuss the ongoing dance between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. Everything starts in the conscious mind. And that’s why it is critical that a person be highly organized. Where they are planning their day the night before and time blocking their day. That is all conscious mind. John mentioned that he is going to do a revision to his book. And is really going to tell people that if they don’t plan their day the night the night before and time block their days, the 12 minute day methodology is not for them. That’s how important being highly organized with an intelligent system is. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the concept that life works out for you. That whatever happens in life for you, it’s always for the best. Maybe there’s lessons you have to learn from adversity before you experience prosperity. John and Kelly provide a six minute clip from Joe Dispenza. He has a brilliant way of explaining the infinite intelligence of life. How you don’t always see the big picture but it’s critical to have the belief that life is working for you not against you. Always avoiding the victim mentality. In the clip you’ll hear Joe talk about the idea of having a personal assistant who is working behind the scenes to make everything work in your life. You don’t always understand why the personal assistant is doing this or that, but you have faith that it’s all being done for your betterment. Whatever is happening is for your betterment. This is a powerful episode to listen to. Because once you embrace the idea that life inevitably works out for you, your life is never the same. It eliminates stress. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John shares with the audience something he did with his class at the University of Texas. John had a student play the 20-year-old version of John Mitchell. And John played the current version. John then imparted lessons to the 20-year-old version of himself that would make his life way easier and way more successful earlier. And here’s the essence of what it came down to. WORK SMARTER. But most of us are ingrained to just work harder. Big mistake. But the natural question is how do you work smarter? At the end of the day, it comes down to understanding HOW THE HUMAN MIND WORKS. And the linchpin issue is that 95% of a person’s daily thoughts and actions are unconscious. Once a person gets the PROFOUND RAMIFICATIONS of that, their life is never the same. The BIG DOMINO DROPS. And here’s why. Your success in life comes down to your DAILY ACTIONS. If 95% your daily actions are unconscious, if you are not gaining control over those unconscious daily actions you’re playing the game of life at 5% of your potential. And here’s the other key thing that comes from that. YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND CONTROLS YOUR LIFE. It’s either your greatest asset or your greatest nemesis and challenge. Contemplate that for minute. Here’s why that’s the case. We are all innately WIRED FOR SURVIVAL. That causes 75% of our thoughts be fear-based and we’re reactive rather than proactive on our agenda. Therefore if you do nothing to override being wired for survival, you live life fear-based and reactive every day. It’s a horrible way to live. But if you take control of your subconscious mind, and feed the succinct articulation of your life yourself each day, it’s a whole new ballgame. You’ll now wired yourself for success, rather than being wired for survival. So it’s your choice. Do you want your subconscious mind to be your biggest asset, or do you want it to be your greatest challenge that you have to fight every day. It’s up to you. Controlling your subconscious mind only takes 12 minutes a day.Buy John’s book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn’s story is pretty amazing. So John plays for five minutes of a clip and then John and Kelly discuss what they’re learning. The first clip talks about how your life is about to change from self talk. Then Joe talks about how people are living on autopilot. And the effect of that is they re-create their past. Also how the negative self talk adversely affects their biochemistry. Then John and Kelly discuss those topics then a clip is played of what actually happens in the body from self talk. The big Takeaway is your self talk determines your identity. And most people have no directed and focused self talk and therefore default to negative self talk.Buy John’s book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn’s story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the idea of talking to yourself in the second person. More specifically using focused self talk to create your identity. There is some amazing new research out of Stanford and Dr. Andrew Huberman where he talks about the scientific discoveries regarding how self talk impacts a person’s neurochemistry and autopilot. The connection is pretty simple. Self talk impacts identity, identity effects a person’s long-term actions, and actions determine a person’s success and achievement in life.So when you talk to yourself in the second person with empowering statements, it literally changes the chemical release of things like dopamine. And the expression of your genes. And it changes how your autopilot is wired. And that’s significant because 95% your daily thoughts and actions are unconscious. Meaning that 95% are on autopilot. During this interview it’s noted that when you say I, you’re more focused on your intentions. Where as when you say you, it’s your identity – which is more sticky then intentions.During this podcast John and Kelly discuss the concept of negative thoughts. And Dr. Andrew Huberman suggests that when a negative thought comes in your head, you simply identify it. Identify it as a thought and label it as not true. When you have the presence of mind to do that, it changes how the brain processes that negative thought. This episode is a must listen to for anyone that is doing the think it be it methodology. The end result is you will be changing your life GPS template to say YOU instead of I based on the latest neurophysiology research out of Stanford. In the show notes for providing an important video regarding self talk and its impact on you physically. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the concept of the power of personal growth. Kelly had the benefit of growing up with a father who was big into personal growth. Accordingly, ongoing personal growth is who Kelly is. John didn’t have the same good fortune. When he turned 50 and he wasn’t as successful as he thought he should be, he saw that in his 30s and 40s he was too busy for personal growth. Big mistake. And when he got into his 50s, he rectified that. By creating a system for personal growth. That made it both consistent and strategic relative to what he wanted to accomplish. It was foundational in causing his income to go up by 25 times over the $200,000 a year he was making the prior 20 years. In this episode John acknowledges that many people don’t have an appreciation for personal growth because their life experience hasn’t shown them how valuable it is. But does everybody have to learn everything the hard way?. John makes the contention that nobody is smart enough to be highly successful on their own. Nobody. And you actually don’t have to be the smartest person in the world. Just be a conduit of learning. Continually learning from experts. At the end this podcast John explains that on March 28, which is a Friday at 11 AM central time, John is going to conduct the quarterly 2% mastermind. Helping people using the 12 minute a day methodology tweak up there life GPS template. And allows them to ask questions. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss is the idea that you have to create yourself from the inside out not the outside in. This comes from a great book called Inner Excellence. And here’s the reality. Most people are creating themselves from the outside in. Driven by social media and what other people think. So who they are is primarily influenced by those factors. Exactly the opposite of how you want to be. You want to be created from the inside out. At the end the day, all we want is inner peace and to live our life confidently. And everything starts with gratitude. Which promotes inner strength, which then leads to mental toughness. Which then leads to achievement. And that all comes back to inner peace and gratitude.During this podcast Kelly digs into the idea that your identity dictates your actions. Who you see yourself as determines the actions you take. And your morning routine is how you establish your identity and how you build yourself from the inside out. You just have to figure out what the best morning routine for you is. Maybe it’s meditation, maybe it’s affirmations. But as John points out, what would be a better morning routine than feeding the succinct articulation of your desired life yourself each day. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly dig deeper into the idea that 95% of your daily actions are unconscious. The classic way we explain it is as follows. Your actions determine your success in each area of your life. It is well documented that 95% of your daily actions are unconscious. Accordingly just connect the dots. Your subconscious mind controls your life. And if you want a higher level of success, you have to gain control over those unconscious daily actions. But one thing that John finds interesting from appearing on various podcast is often times the host will acknowledge that they know that 95% of their daily actions are unconscious but do not do anything about it.Kelly provides some great wisdom on this topic. First of all, she says that often times people didn’t know they could do anything about it. Well that’s exactly what the think it be it methodology is all about. The 12 minute a day technique. Taking control over those unconscious daily actions. The other thing Kelly astutely points out is that most people aren’t thinking about this anyway. They’re just gliding through life living life at a shallow level. Not getting much thought to the implications of 95% of their daily thoughts and actions being unconscious. Once you listen to this podcast, you will have a deeper and richer understanding of this fundamental concept that when you think about it, is life-changing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about the power of knowing your own story. John talks about how he has a weekly personal growth program for the 18 head coaches at the University of Texas. As well as for the 75 people in the athletic department. And this week he provided the coaches with an interview of both Kobe Bryan and Michael Jordan’s mental coach. George Munford. He talks about how he was able to help them reach their full potential by understanding their unique story. A powerful lesson. So in this episode, John explains in under two minutes his unique story. Then Kelly does the same thing. You will find that when you do this and define your story in under two minutes, it ends up being a source of power when things get tough and when you are dealing with the daily grind. In this episode John also talks about the power of doing what you say you’re going to do. The research indicates that people do what they say they’re going to do about 40% of the time. Using the think it be it methodology will take it to close to 100%. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly play a short clip from the legendary Jim Rohn, one of the founders of the personal growth industry. He talks about four powerful emotions that will instantly change your life. John then plays the clip. After the clip, John and Kelly talk about it. One of the emotions discussed is getting to the point where you say “I’ve had it”. John notes two times in his life when he had reached this point. Another one of the emotions is the attitude of get it done – rather than continuing to try to make a decision. This is so true. People will agonize over making a decision. It’s paralysis by analysis. The other powerful emotion is desire. The “want to” to make a change in one’s life. And then the last one is resolve. Being determined to make the change. Then John and Kelly talk about something John is observing in a number of people he is close with. At around the age of 30, people are trying to really figure out what they’re going to do for career. That’s a natural time because it takes until you’re about 30 to figure out what your strength is and know what’s up in the real world.John gives the advice to figure out your strength and play into it. And don’t be deluded by things you could do. You could probably do a lot of things. But you have to play into what your unique talent is. And factor in the future. Things are changing so quickly you have to figure out what career has longevity to it. You also have to understand what stage of life you’re in. And are you living in a city that facilitates your stage of life. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the concept that your identity determines your actions. Kelly is a big believer in this. As an example, if you see yourself as being on top of your health then it’s reflected in your exercise routine and your plan for eating. You make sure that you exercise and eat in accordance with being someone who is on top of their health. Kelly points out that she is blessed to net seven figures a year. So she has that image of herself and tuned into what would a person netting seven figures a year do.Then John comes in and talks about his identity. His foundational belief is that his life is precious. And he amplifies what Kelly says. I’m on top of my health. And from that identity it impacts my eating and exercising. John also says that he plays the game of life at his full potential. He does his best. That’s who he is. During this podcast John and Kelly also talk about three different levels of think it be it. The first level is just creating success. In your career, in your romantic relationship, and your health. Controlling your daily actions. Then those upgraded daily actions create success in each area of your life. Then the second level. Impacting your identity. Using this methodology you’re either changing it or refining it. It’s really a spiritual experience to feed the succinct articulation of your desired life to yourself each day. Who you want to be, and what you want to accomplish, and how you are going to achieve your clearly defined goals. It’s impacting the creation of your thoughts. It’s impacting your love of self. Healing past wounds. Impacting your confidence level. Making life more enjoyable and creating more happiness. Giving you a sense of control over your life. And you can change the consciousness level at which you operate. Then the third component is the ripple effect. Once you learn this methodology, you want to share it with your friends and with your kids. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the struggle of life, then the solution. So little back story on this topic. Recently John met a brilliant guy that is in the field of maximizing brain health. He read John’s book and had a candid suggestion for John on how to improve the book. He said there w was not enough explanation of the struggle that people go through in life. He said that before we give them the solution, we have to get them to buy in that I understand their struggle. That’s a very valid criticism. So during this podcast Kelly talks about her struggles earlier in her career. The struggles really began for her in her mid-30s. As she was launching into being an entrepreneur. She felt like she wasn’t playing to her potential. There was more gas in the tank. And John experienced the same thing is 30s and 40s. He worked harder than all his friends. But why weren’t his results matching his efforts. John had the naïve perception that he deserved big success because he was working harder than his friends. How unenlightened is that. Then for both John and Kelly, things shifted when they learned how the human mind works. From John discovering the secret of think and grow Rich. Which gave each of them immensely more control over their lives. John then goes on to talk about your subconscious mind is either your greatest asset or it is your greatest nemesis in life. It’s your choice. If you do nothing, your subconscious mind remains your greatest nemesis. Because it’s innately wired for survival. Causing you be fear-based and reactive. Alternatively, you can stop winging life and do the think it be it 12 minute a day methodology. That gives you control of your subconscious mind. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about the power of using questions to influence people. Kelly has built her business career around asking great questions. It plays out throughout her life. John talks about using questions to influence people regarding embracing think it be it. As an example, sometimes he will ask a person how do you create success in your life. That’s a question they probably haven’t been asked before. And so after a minute or two of stumbling around looking for the right answer, it becomes apparent to both John and the person that they don’t really have a way of creating success in their life. Then John asks the killer second question. How’s that working for you? John then politely and respectfully gives them the answer. It’s not working out as well as you would like because you’re just winging life. You don’t actually have a way of doing life. When someone asked John how he creates success, he has a pretty clear answer. Your daily actions determine your success in each area of your life. 95% of your daily actions are unconscious. Therefore I gain control over my unconscious daily actions by feeding the succinct articulation of my life to myself each day. That rewires my autopilot. And causes the right actions happen automatically without thinking. And I have a powerful force pulling myself forward to my desired life. John gives another example. Oftentimes he will say that the most significant thing he ever learned in his life is that 95% of a person’s daily actions are unconscious. And so he will ask the question to someone as to whether they believe that or not. More often than not, they say they do believe it.Then the second killer question. So what are you doing about that? Do you see the profound implications of that? The Takeaway is using questions are profound. In the last half of the episode John and Kelly talk about this idea of deep thinking two times a week. A powerful technique that is part of the think it be it methodology. It’s a three-step process. The first step is just sit down and write in your thinking tablet anything that comes up for the first 10 minutes or so. Then the second step. Figure out a question to ask yourself. Usually regarding what your biggest challenge at the moment is. Then the third step is to recap what you learned and defined the action steps. John and Kelly discuss in the think it be it methodology this ongoing dance between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The deep thinking technique two times a week is influencing the conscious mind. Then the daily reading of one’s visualization is impacting the subconscious mind. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, Kelly explains what she would tell the 20 year old version of herself regarding how to be successful. She starts out talking about the immense power of being a grower and a learner from a young age. Her dad turned her on to reading when she was 13 years old. And that’s where she got it. And it played a significant factor in her life. Approaching life from a curiosity standpoint and learning whatever she could. In seeking people with wisdom beyond her own wisdom. That has been the hallmark trait of Kelly Hatfield. The other advice she would give the 20-year-old version of herself is to understand how the human mind works. When John taught Kelly the think it be it methodology when she was 44 years old, it was life transforming. The key thing she learned was that 95% of her daily thoughts and actions are unconscious. Once you really think about it and appreciate the profound implications, your life is never the same. John and Kelly talk about how lots of people understand this at a surface level. But do nothing about it. But those that really get it, and see its implications, are all about learning think it be it. During this episode John talks about the impact of the think it be it methodology has on one’s identity. He talks about how we are all created haphazardly. Things have happened in our life that were both good and bad that has created good traits and bad traits. And we were raised by our parents in a certain way. But virtually none of it was intentional.Even how our parents raised us was largely unintentional. They just did the best they could. And how we were raised was certainly unintentional from our standpoint. We had nothing to do with it. That’s why it’s so cool to be able to re-create yourself with intention and clarity. Create the IDEAL YOU. Then when you create that in the CONSCIOUS MIND, you feed it every day to the subconscious mind through repetition. Then that identity is who you become. Because that’s when it impacts your thoughts and actions automatically without thinking. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the concept that no one is going to save you. This is a famous Mel Robbins quote. You have to save yourself. John talks about when he was 50 he fully embraced the idea that he had to figure out his life. To own creating the exceptional life rather than just, at some level, assuming it would just happen. At 50, John realized he had to make it happen by his actions. He also realize it what he was getting was exactly what he deserved. His actions were producing the average life. And what he really realized is that he had the power all long to create the exceptional life from creating immense clarity about his life. He just didn’t know it until he was 50 and read think and grow Rich.John and Kelly then go on to say that everything that is in your life today you created. Both the good and the bad. John discusses growing up very middle-class. He had to figure out how to create the opulent successful life he wanted. During this podcast John also talks about the story of Darren Hardy. When he was in his mid-40s and was interviewing Maria Shriver for Success Magazine. He asked her what her definition of success was. It really changed Darren’s own approach. You have to be doing something that is meaningful to you and also plays your strengths. Too often people are engaging in a career that doesn’t really interest them. John goes on to talk about the idea in life that you are the problem and you’re also the solution. Once you embrace this, your life is never the same. And the think it be it methodology gives you the power to create the life you desire. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the concept of Letting Go. This is based on a book from David Hawkings. Truly life-changing book. It’s very similar to Mel Robbins' recent book called The let them theory. The essence of Mel Robbins' book is that you do you and you let other people do them. Don’t worry about the things you don’t control. In this book Mel Robbins says that the problem is the power you give other people. Two simple words – let them – will set you free. From the opinions, drama and judgment of others. Free from the exhausting cycle trying to manage everything and everyone around you. Again you do you, focus on what you control, and let other people do them. The fundamental problem is that people try to control things they don’t control. So people have to fix that. Then John gets into a life-changing book he is reading called Letting Go. John says it’s taking him to the next level. And what letting go means is when things come up in your life that are frustrating, just let it go. Don’t hold onto the frustration. The more you give energy to a frustration, the more it negatively impacts you. John goes on to talk about how learning this methodology is so compatible with the think it be it 12 minute a day methodology. When you feed the concept of letting go to yourself each day, you rewire your autopilot. So that’s what you actually do. And you become a person that lets go.Buy John’s book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn’s story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the concept that you don’t really get more enlightened until you become 50. John says that there is something magical about turning 50. Before you turn 50, your attitude is generally what don’t I know? I pretty much know everything. But when you turned 50, you understand life at a deeper and deeper level. And you also decide to do life on your terms rather than everybody else’s terms. John talks about the things he learned in his 50s that he didn’t know when he was in his 30s and 40s. As an example. How to work smarter not harder. By understanding how the human mind works. No clue about this in his 30s or 40s. He also didn’t understand how to play into one’s own strengths and understanding in detail one’s own strengths. That became apparent in his 50s. John also learned the power of growing intellectually every week with a system that made that personal growth strategic. He wasn’t doing that in his 30s and 40s. Also he learned how to deep think two times a week his 50s. Clueless about that in his 30s and 40s. Then when John got into his 60s he started appreciate how people are different than he was. And that it’s okay. People are the product of their genetics coupled with what has come into their consciousness to this point in their life. John also learn the power of having a powerful and emotional mission statement. During this discussion Kelly and John also discuss the limiting factor in one’s success regarding having false beliefs. John and Kelly both believed erroneously that they controlled their daily actions. Then they got enlightened to the fact that 95% of a person’s daily actions are unconscious. And that was significant because they understood that one’s success in life comes down to their daily actions. Once they got that, everything changed. Then in the podcast, John and Kelly talk about the immense power of improving one’s self-image. By digging deep into it.
