I'd be interested to know what you think of the book this show is based on--My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy. Guy was a black woman from Trinidad, and the book's not so interested in romanticizing the story. (I think it's more interested in un-romanticizing it--It's basically The Little Mermaid examining colorism and class.) ...which would seem to mean that the OotI team actively chose to undermine the source material >.<
LOVE this podcast! Warm, entertaining and witty. Keep them coming, please. HIGHLY recommended.
