In this episode I am gonna tell you about Lake Norman. Norman is a huge reservoir that spreads out into Iredell, Catawba, Lincoln, and Mecklenburg County. The history of the lake involves one of the most powerful Native American nations in the south, an energy empire, and a mysterious creature rumored to hide just beneath the surface of this giant body of water.

I'm going down a bit of a nostalgia road with this episode to tell you about Bogue Banks, place I spent many summer vacations as a kid.The twenty one mile island off of Carteret County is home to Emerald Isle, Indian Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Salter Path, Atlantic Beach, and Fort Macon. As you can see, there is never a shortage of things to do in this corner of our great state.

In this episode I am going to tell you about an NC State Park that has a really interesting history; one that marks a pivotal moment in our state's past. Jones Lake State Park was the first black only state park in NC, as opposed to all of the white only areas of our state. Today, this Carolina Bay Lake is still open and still beautiful.

In this episode I talk about a real NC tycoon, Nello Teer. He was an Orange County entrepreneur who found a way to only succeed and seemingly never fail. If you have traveled anywhere in North Carolina, then you have most likely seen something that Nello Teer has touched.
