We couldn't ignore all the fan mail, so we had to bring it back - this week, get ready for another episode of everyone's favorite show, the Birdologuecast, where members of the Nerdologues (what a stupid name) talk about augmenting their bodies with animal parts. You don't want to miss this one! THEN, stand-up comic extraordinaire Claire Friedman workshops some of her jokes for Chris, Joe, and Katie, and some of the others try to get in on the stand-up routine with mixed success.
In this gritty reboot brought to you in the Mighty Marvel Manner, host Chris Geiger sits down with three other members of the Nerdologues to talk about their Home Bases (aka cities and states where they come from) and Jando's Secret Origins (aka how his parents got together). Then, we are so excited to feature the thirteenth episode of the silver screen podcast that's tearing up the iTunes rankings, JANDO LOVES MOVIES! This week, get ready for a review of Lucy that will blow 100% of all your minds.
A couple weeks ago, Mike Jando clearly won the first episode of the new Birdologuecast, so he's back for more this time with guests Mary Beth Smith and Joe Gennaro. Get ready for more fowl play, including a discussion of the stinger on Guardians of the Galaxy. Then, we meet Bo Austin and Paul. One of them is the world's greatest photographer of food in spoons, and the other... the other has a seeecret.
Episode 1 of the Birdologuecast takes flight (hah!) in this week's podcast, but we quickly switch topics to chat about comic book movies, a topic on everyone's mind with the mega-successful release of this weekend's Guardians of the Galaxy. Plus, the Marvel/DC debate continues, and learn what Jando finds attractive in a mate!
Making his triumphant return from the Great White North(ish), Steve Persch rejoins the Nerdologuecast for a chat about Seinfeld, basketball, and livable cities. Then, Katie tags out for her mom, Libby, who shares some reflections on being 50 and maybe has a weird thing for Steve?
How does one really "brunch"? That's the topic of the first half of today's Nerdologuecast, as Kevin Reader, Joe Gennaro, and host Chris Geiger get into the nitty gritty of this favored pasttimes of middle-class twentysomethings. The conversation briefly moves to the horrors of flying, and then we're joined by a very special guest from a very special universe... Emperor Palpatine himself, Darth Sidious! Darth's going to tell us about his latest project, a wonderful little film series, as well as spill the beans on everything George Lucas got wrong!
Welcome to the Datealoguecast! This week, host Chris Geiger, Mary Beth Smith, Mike Jando, and Friend of the Nerds Katie Johnston-Smith swipe dating stories and offer some tips for anyone down on their love life. But those tips are nothing compared to what our special guest Jerry has to offer. Marvel in amazement as this person, who is definitely not 17, shares with us the secrets of picking up ladies and living it up at Burning Man. You won't believe what you hear!
Girldalogues? Nerdoladies? This week, Claire Friedman, Mary Beth Smith, and returning guest Katie Johnston-Smith sit down with host Chris Geiger to explore a different side of the Nerdologues, including topics like fashion and which celebrities can get it. Then, they're rudely joined by FBI agent Richard, aka Big Dick, who might be the worst person we've had on the show yet.
If you didn't know it already, here's a thing you'll learn about Kevin Reader in this episode: he loves to share things, whether it's his newly found interest in Neil Young or his personal phone number. Some inaccurate things about music are said (<--- note from the editor). Then, we're joined by professional love doctor Dr. Doctor Younan, who has some spicy tips for the Nerds... and maybe YOU!
In this episode, recorded on Easter Sunday, host Chris Geiger and a few of the Nerds really dive into some lesser-known holiday lore (we hope our loyal listeners avoided yesterday's lava floods!). Besides that, we also chat about TV for a while and answer a weird voicemail, and Mary Beth Smith reveals a fun name game to play if you want to troll complete strangers! Then it sounds like we're joined by Ms. Frizzle, a grade school educator with some pretty poor lesson plans. Honestly I don't really remember that part, but it's all on the tape!
This week we've got a jam-packed Nerdologuecast for the fans, brought to you by 405-JAW-NERD! If you've ever wanted to hear sordid(ish) young sexscapades from Chris Geiger, Kevin Reader, and Tim Dunn, this is the place. Then, stick around for the appearance of mega-popular star of True Detective and Dallas Buyers Club Matthew McConaughey, who reveals some information about a non-acting pursuit of his that changes the tone of the podcast a little.
This past weekend, the Nerds took a trip to get some work done and, you know, really find themselves. THIS IS THE RESULT. In this episode, you'll learn some unfortunate things about host Chris Geiger's digestive systems, get some juicy Craigslist missed connections stories, and uncover the inside scoop on the hottest new Magic: the Gathering card set as designed by our own Mary Beth Smith.
The Nerdologues get a New Media Makeover on this week's Nerdologuecast, as social media consultant and Big Bang Theory fan Lisa McDunna stops by to do some serious work on our image. BUT first, learn some uncomfortable and often incorrect things about certain Nerdologues comedians' family members!
Last time Claire, Jando, and Steve got together on the Nerdologuecast, they lifehacked it up. Will they deliver a second helping? Sort of! But maybe don't gamble on it. Then, we're joined by special guest Marco, who last episode became the first gentleman to use our call-in line (405-JAW-NERD). Marco's looking to make it big on the Internet the best way he knows how... with lists.
On this week's Nerdologuecast, join host Chris Geiger and ensemble member Joe Gennaro in welcoming to the show Tim Dunn and Clayton Margeson, the hosts of the Talking Games with Tim and Clayton podcast that we've just started to produce! Also get introduced to our super-special CALL-IN LINE, which you can access by dialing 405-JAW-NERD on any old phone. Then, speaking of phones, meet guest Herb Rosemont, the head of Google's tech support call-in line, and definitely not a participant in any kind of secret war.
This episode, four members of the Nerdologues explore their comedy beginnings, and host Chris Geiger reveals the traumatic experience that’s given him a long-standing hatred of puns. Prepare to feel things! Then, we’re joined by extra-special guest Gene. You might say there’s something magical about him (because he’s a genie).
t's the first Nerdologuecast of 2014! Join host Chris Geiger plus Nerdologue members Claire Friedman, Kevin Reader, and Mary Beth Smith as they chat about game shows, TV commercials, babies, and gifs (how do you pronounce that word, anyway?!). Then we're blessed to be joined by folk singer Shandy Winters, whose songs bring a unique and thoughtful take to this crazy modern world we live in! WARNING: some incorrect facts may be unleashed in this episode! Facts that would make Steve Harvey cry.  PS: this episode brought to you by Long John Silvers' Big Catch Basket.
On our last episode of 2013, host Chris Geiger chats with three members of the Nerdologues about festive topics like intimacy, cheating, and favorite holiday movies. Well, I guess that last one fits. A long discussion about Love Actually and Hugh Grant ensues. Then, meet guest Alvis Leonard, janitor and prankster to the stars! Alvis is a legend in Hollywood, even if nobody knows it.
Guys, it's our first ever episode recorded live, and there's so much here to love! Join host Chris Geiger, contest winner Jaaron Drew, the fantastic band the Shock T's, and a host of guests from podcasts past as we do some catching up. Does Bradley Richards have any new games to share? Has Tamerica James' dad returned to air? Can the Urban Bike Olympics possibly degenerate any more? And just what is George R.R. Martin writing next? Get the answers to all these questions and more now!
If you've ever wanted the secret to writing a great Vince Vaughn movie, this episode's for you! If you don't care about that, this episode is still probably for you! Join Nerdologues members Mary Beth Smith, Steve Persch, and Kevin Reader as they chat about topics like great date movies and politics (guys, this is gonna get spicy!). Then, Urban Bike Olympic champions Barry Johnson and Gary Thompson grace the studio with their presence to share tales of their athletic feats. Never heard of the Urban Bike Olympics, you say? Well, you'll learn more about it here than you ever wanted to! Everyone, gear up for some competitive bike locking.
