This episode has been in the pipeline for a while. Recorded in February but only being released in June due to multiple life situations but the good thing is it's finally out. And there is no better way to close off the Digital Nomad series than by giving you a step-by-step guide on how to become one.Goncalo's belief in the future of Digital Nomads is almost unmatched. Coupled with his experience in developing digital nomad spaces and as a former freelancer himself, there really isn't much to argue about what he says. With that in mind, he helps break down the barrier on what skills you need to be a digital nomad in your field, how to start, which resources you need to learn about yourself and about your field to become a digital nomad. Even though digital nomads crave the idea of working and travelling, they also need communities of people that share the same desire. Thats where NomadX comes in. It offers communities for nomads who don't want to just visit a place but also experience and give back to the people and communities they are in. It's not just a two-day tourist opportunity, but rather a worthwhile effort to take in new experiences and share ideas on one's digital nomad journey. This week I talk to Goncalo Hall, CEO of Nomadx about his work on building communities, the future of digital nomads and what he believes is possible for Africa in the digital nomad space.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thenextframe/message Hosted on Acast. One of the many joys of interviewing people and hearing their stories is experiencing the why behind their drive. Tarryn Jolly is a visual storyteller, who works as a digital nomad in South Africa. She started her journey when a neighbor asked her to create a video. And from then on, she made it her living. In this episode we focus on another approach of being a digital nomad by starting out in your own home country. Most people assume being a digital nomad includes airport hoping and visa haggling every time. But Tarry puts a new and different spin to it, by travelling through South Africa and telling the stories of both her clients and the people she meets.Goes to show, you really can do anything is you are true to yourself and honest to the path that you take! But the hardest drawback is finding the right information on how to start an e-comm business in Africa given our wonderful continent's ehhh drawbacks to say the least. Now Bernard Loots of GrowthStart and GrowthStart Insights rightly answered my questions on how to navigate the everchanging African E-comm atmosphere, what to look out for and also just how much of a challenge is it to start an e-commerce business. In his own words, the best thing you can do for yourself is to JUST START!!
