When we value the moment that we are in that is when we find joy in what we are doing. I recently returned from a trip to Hong Kong where I had an opportunity to referee at an international championship as well as work with incredible South African supporting and loading team. I did not have an opportunity to tour because I valued what I was doing and learning more than touring Hong Kong. It was a truly wonderful experience. When we value will we do we exponentially increase the value of what we are doing.#MentalHealth #mentalwellbeing #mentaltoughness #selfbelief #selfesteem #leadership #tenacity #growth #selfcare #happier #Happiness #sober #sobriety #recover #recovery
Today is a very tough day for those of us who have lost their fathers and partners. Seeing the loving posts on social media from kids and spouses or the families out celebrating today when we cant. It is also a day to acknowledge and that the single Mothers, Grandparents and Child Headed Households working so hard to be both the Mother and the Father their children, grandchildren or siblings need.
My guests Tessa Whitfield and Victoria Webster have been running groups, eating psychology programs, workshops and support spaces together for the last two years. After much trial and error and learning what works and what doesn’t work, they have come together to build a community intended to help people connect with one another and make real changes in their relationships with food and eating. The idea for this community comes from a place of psychological research and evidence, but also because they both have personal experience on how powerful this kind of community can be. Tessa Whitfield, a Nutrition Coach, lost over 30kg, but in the process recognised that more work needed to ensure that the weight stayed off, unlike past weight loss experiences. She transformed her life by changing the way she thinks about herself and her relationship with food and the result has been sustained weight loss and a more positive and resilient approach to life. Her own transformation led Tessa to qualify as a Keto Nutrition Coach through Nutrition Network and she now works as a health coach to assist others to achieve their own transformation. Tessa is an expert on learning how to love yourself, drop the perfectionism and live life in the messy, always imperfect but wonderful middle. Victoria Webster is a clinical psychologist running a private practice specialising in eating addictions and disorders. She has spent over 8 years in the addiction field and has spent the last three years focusing on eating disorders, overeating, binge eating, sugar addiction and emotional eating. She has discovered a number of core patterns that are shared by those who struggle with dieting and controlling food intake. These often have their root in childhood experiences and are sometimes driven by things we may not be aware of. She has adapted a number of traditional learnings and tools to help uncover these individual experiences that have shaped our relationship with food. She has successfully used these in her own journey and helping others. Together Tessa and Victoria are the dream team, combining Tessa’s personal experience with Victoria’s expertise to impart valuable information and help you make real changes in your life and they will facilitate all live sessions and also the WhatsApp support group.”
The LABELS we receive in childhood can set a negative and painful tone for the rest of our lives, but they can also be our superpower. We need to see our negative childhood labels as our gift and use them.#mentalhealth #leadership #selflove #Tenacity #selfcare #selfesteem #mentalhealthawareness #happy #happiness #development #inspiration #motivation #workplacewellness #work #sales #salescoaching #leadershipdevelopment #empowerment #optimalhealth #optimalperformance #optimalwellness
The rate of men taking their own lives is alarming. I was honoured to speak with Men's Health Magazine's write Kieran Legg for his piece in the March/April 2023 editions of MHZA about what brought me to the bring and also what brought me back.  I am very grateful to have been able to contribute to this article in a small way because the topic is vital and we are not talking and sharing enough.  To quote Kieran, "We need to talk."  Please grab a copy or two  for your self and share it with someone as well.
Right now it may feel like there is very little we can control, and it can be terrifying. I wanted to share with you what I have been through the past few weeks, it started with having to come back on the first day of a desperately needed week long brake because I was exposed and needed to get home to isolate and  it ended with being stuck inside alone for nearly an month and then having to cancel the break I was so desperately looking forward to again. This was a test of mental health and it taught me a powerful lesson. I hope this lesson can help you. I love you guys. Ooooooss
We may know that we are good, that we deserve love, peace, success and serenity, but what happens if we do not believe we do.   I have come to realise that serenity is the result of working rally hard to move from what we know about ourselves but to believe to what we know about ourselves and believe.  #mentalhealth #mentalwellness
Our pain is a tool.

Our pain is a tool.

Our Pain is a tool that can either serve us or destroy us. How we understand it and how we view it can determine which.

We are launching and new look and format for the show. Same strong content, amazing people and interviews and always honest and raw.We are looking forward to providing you with some fantastic content this year.
The way that Kiki Marx chooses to live her incredible life holds many lessons for us, lessons that we can use to add value and quality to our lives.  She is a kind, compassionate and gentle person, everyone who knows her loves her. If that was all there was to this amazing person that would be enough, it would be more than many could claim, but there is certainly a lot more to her.  Kiki has shown us that the shape of your body is irrelevant and that our weight has nothing to do with our value to inspire others, our courage or our heart.  She has broken a world record, climbed Kilimanjaro, swam to Robben Island and then swam there and more than once, been the first to swim the Dead Sea and she has conquered the English Channel.  Kiki was kind enough to sit down with us to talk about her incredible feats, the amazing inspiring life she has built and how your body shape has nothing to do with your heart and your courage.   Just listen to this show, it will inspire you to do amazing things as it has me.
Andrea in another incredible woman who we are very fortunate to have on the show, she has had a fantastic carrier as a successful business executive and now is a highly sought after and respected Life and Executive Coach. We sit down with her to discuss the world in which we all find one another today and how to survive it, the working rise in alcohol consumption as a coping mechanism and how we can thrive in chaos through helping others. It is a longer show but definitely with the listen. If you think you or a loved one may be drinking too much during this time, please listen and share. I love you all. Ooooooooosss

We can learn a great deal on how we choose to live our lives from Nic Skippworth-Mitchell. At 17 he lost his let to cancer while serving in the Rhodesian Army, not only did he continue to serve as a medic under fire in a war with only one leg (we believe this is the only time this has happened) but he also helped many other young soldiers who lost limbs due to the conflict come to terms with what had happened.   Nic has written two fantastic books, about life in then Rhodesian, losing his leg, the war and building a life after.  If you would like to know what life was like as a young person growing up in Rhodesia, serving in the war and learning to live with the loss of a limb and building a life then you will enjoy this episode.  From skydiving to running a pub to writing books, Nic has lived a full life and has in no way slowed down. The sense I got of nic through our conversations is that Nic values service to others and has chosen service as a way to bring quality to his life.   Enjoy the episode.   If you would like a copy of Nic's books please email him on skipworth61@gmail.com   The sponsor of today's show is Emet Gyms, please visit www.emetgyms.com for some of the best online coaching available today.   We would greatly appreciate it if you would leave us a review on iTunes and help us grow our listenership.
