To start hour 2, we giveaway another entry into a draw for VIP tickets to the GOCF for Andrew Schulz and Shane Gillis in Edmonton!   Craig Button joins as the 'Pro Am Sports Big Guest of the Day!' He shares his thoughts on how great the Oilers played and flashes back to how their season started with the poor team play and the change in coaching. He highlights some big defensive plays made in Game 7 that were taught to the team throughout the season. He looks at the series as a whole giving the biggest takeaway he saw for the Oilers. Conviction and commitment. Button speaks on special teams and the powerplay while analyzing the commitment the team had in those moments to kill penalties. Kris Knoblauch had conviction to start Stuart Skinner and make the coaching changes he did which truly helped the Oilers beat the Canucks.    Craig Button then sheds some light on Dylan Holloway and the confidence he's shown in the NHL speaking back on his wrist injury in college that affected his performance up until now.   He moves onto the stellar play of Evan Bouchard and how he's the first defenceman in the NHL to have 20 points after the first two rounds in the playoffs. Button says that he's always been a smart and crafty player but that he's playing defence as well. Button says that he's the Oilers' #1 guy without a doubt and that he's a top 10-12 defenceman in the league.   Of course with the big win to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Final, Craig Button gives his view of what might go down between the Dallas Stars and the Edmonton Oilers.   After that, Dusty lays down 'The Coolbet Hotline of the Day!'   Dusty and Eric then dive into 'Weekly Confessions' for Spectrum Rent All!
The boys are HYPED after last night's game and of course, they dive right into the action!   They play 'The Nuge Can Play' and all Nielson Show songs are brought to you by Sportball!   We then have 'Morning Announcements' presented by 100.3 The BEAR where Dusty shares the third-round schedule for the Oilers!   Lt. Eric and Dusty also get into 'The Morning After Show' for E.M. Utility locating!
To start the third hour, the boys start with some Mr. Mikes ‘Kind of Easy Trivia.’   They then transitioned to ‘Three Questions Too Many’ from Park Mazda.   Ryan Rishaug joined the show in the final hour to talk all things Oilers and Canucks ahead of tonights game 7 matchup.   The boys finished the show with ‘The Wrap’ for William Huff.
To get things started in the second hour, Darren Dreger got things started. He shared his thoughts on how the Oilers played in game 6, if the Oilers should make any changes to the lineup, shed some light on Dylan Holloways play, and much more.   In the middle of the hour, Dusty gave his Coolbet ‘Hotline of The Day.’   For ‘MMMMMMM That’s Good’ Presented by Italian Centre Shop, Dusty and Lt. Eric looked back at all the Oilers game sevens in their history.   The fellas finished the second hour of the show highlighting the Six O’Clocker Lager and our new Birdie Booze.
It’s holiday Monday but the show must go on. Dustin Nielson and Lt. Eric are back with another jam packed show here on The Nielson Show!   The fellas started the show briefly discussing the Oilers and Canucks game 7.   They then dove into ‘Morning Announcements’ presented by 100.3 The Bear.   In the second part of the first hour, the guys chimed in on Brock Boeser being out of the lineup ahead of tonights game 7.   To finish the first hour on this holiday Monday, the boys gave their good, their bad and their ugly.
To start the third hour, Gordo answers the call to play 'Kind of Easy Trivia' for Mr. Mikes!   The fellas get into 'Three Questions Too Many' for Park Mazda!   Garrett Galapo then stops by for this week's 'Sobeys & Safeway Liquor Beer of the Week!'   He brings in Zach from Seachange Brewing Co. and some of the beers he and his crew have.   The boys close the show with 'The Wrap' by William Huff where they give away a chance to win VIP tickets to the Friday lineup of the GOCF Edmonton show with Shane Gillis and Andrew Schulz!  
In the second hour, the boys dive into the 'Paris Jewellers Inbox' where you can kick your best chance to try and win a $20 A&W gift card with the A&W 'Text of the Day'   From the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Dusty and Lt. Eric share what they think the Oilers need to do next game to win.   They both share their thoughts on the post-game response of the Oilers and what it would mean if the team lost the next game.   Dusty then lays down the 'Coolbet Hotline of the Day' where he goes to the Dallas Stars!   Midway through the hour Dusty opens a mystery package...   The fellas play a playoff pump-up song for Sportball to hype you up!   They then get into 'MMMMMMM That's Good' for the Italian Centre Shop! The Italian Centre Shop received this year's Canada's Best Companies award! MMMMM that's so so good! What's also good is that the Oilers vs Canucks series now HAS to be a 7-game series for the Oilers to move on!
Dustin Nielson is back in studio to join Lt. Eric to break down what happened in game 5 of the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks series!   In the game, the Oilers lost in a 3-2 with the Canucks scoring in the final minute of the game.   Right off the hop, Mike Johnson joins as the 'Pro Am Sports Big Guest of the Day', bringing up Scottie Scheffler being arrested before diving into game 5 of the Edmonton Oilers series. Johnson eludes to the fact that the big guns weren't on their game and passed up a lot of big opportunities. He gives his view on what happened on the game-winning goal from J.T. Miller and how the Oilers' communication happened at that time.   After giving his thoughts on that, he moves on to where he thinks Kris Knobluach might go for game 6. MJ thinks that Knoblauch can't really pass up playing Calvin Pickard again but would understand if KK went to Stuart Skinner.   He talks a bit about the performance of J.T. Miller and how Connor McDavid has to respond in the next game. MJ then goes into the overall response of the Oilers where he highlights the Oilers play physically with a purpose, where they only do it to get the puck back. He thinks, if they do that and do it well they have a chance to push game 7.   Mike Johnson also shares a story about his former coach in Arizona, Rick Tocchett and how he's a hard-nosed coach who calls out his players and does it well.   The boys then shift over to the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers series. Johnson shares his frustration with the Hurricanes and how he has picked them for the last 4 years. He discusses the fantastic player of Chris Kreider in game 6 and how the Hurricanes broke down giving away a 3-1 lead in the game.   Johnson closes his time on the show by sharing some words about Darren Dutchyshen and what kind of person he was.   After MJ leaves, Dusty talks a bit about Dutchy as well before moving into Scottie Scheffler being arrested.   To recap what happened last night in sports, Dusty moves into 'Morning Announcements' presented by 100.3 The BEAR!   Finishing that segment, the boys get into a conversation about the Oilers game during 'The Morning After Show' for E.M. Utility Locating!    The boys talk about how fans have been flip-flopping between being anxious, being comfortable, being anxious to being comfortable with the play of the Oilers this series. However, Dusty got fired about how the Oilers got a fourth-line game but only 3 shots on the powerplay.   Lt. Eric gives his big moment of the game, fourth star of the game, 38th star of the game and the Steady Eddie of the night!   We hear the voice of Captain Connor McDavid before hearing Atif's big speech from yesterday.   Before the end of hour one, the fellas get into 'The Crack Pack' powered by Wayne's Sports Cards & Collectibles!

Luke Gazdic got things started in the second hour. He gave his initial thoughts on the Oilers and Canucks series,  shed some light on game 4, and finished with his thoughts on the Stars & Avalanche series.   In the middle of the hour, Dusty laid out his Coolbet ‘Hotline of The Day!’   Near the end of the second hour, the fellas dove into ‘I’ve Got Beef’ from Ace Meat Market, and the boys had a lot of beef this week.

The boys recap all that transpired last night in the world of sports, including WHL finals!   In the middle of the hour, the fellas dove into some Oilers talk and discussed if they should make any changes in tonight’s lineup. This topic was discussed to finish out hour 1.

He shared his thoughts on Pickard getting the nod in net, Connor and Leon being split up, all that and much more.   In the middle of the hour, EST glue guy Jay Milne gave his Coolbet ‘Hotline of The Day.’   Near the end of the second hour, we gave some ‘Free Advice’ from Damon Bunting.   To finish off the second hour, EST Legal Analyst Eric Macramalla stopped on by to talk about all things life and sports.

Then they briefly discussed the Oilers last minute heroics to take game 4.   We tried playing some songs provided by Sportball… and unfortunately it didn’t quite work, but we still played the legendary anthem from Dallas from Nelson, called ‘Bouchard walks the line.’   The fellas then dove into ‘The Morning After Show’ for E.M. Utility Locating to recap last night’s game, and went into the locker to hear from both Calvin Pickard and Evan Bouchard.

Eric take no time getting into all the controversy that transpired in game 3 of the Canucks and Oilers series.   The fellas then dive into ‘Morning Announcements’ Presented by 100.3 The Bear to quickly recap all of last nights action.   Near the end of the first hour, Dusty and Lt. Eric gave another all time edition of ‘Tales of The North’ Presented by Christopher Boyle.
To start the third hour, we got 'Kind of Easy Trivia' with Big Uke winning a $25 GC to Mr. Mikes!   We then giveaway an entry into a draw for VIP tickets to Andrew Schulz and Shane Gillis at the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival!   The boys got 'Three Questions Too Many' for Park Madza!   Ryan Rishaug stops by for the 'Got Yer Back Monday Morning Mandate!' He joins the show to talk about last night's Oilers game where he breaks down the goaltending stating that all of the goals that went past Stuart Skinner were not his fault. Shauger looks at Arturs Silovs and how he's outplaying Skinner and making the saves that he's had to. Risahug thinks that Calvin Pickard should get the start in goal for game 4 to show a different look. He then sheds some light on Nikita Zadorov and Carson Soucy's physical play in game 3. Shauger had some heated thought's about the overall physicality of the Oilers and how the team has to take responsibility to try and win this series. He gives his thoughts on the bottom six and who he would play in the lineup. Shauger would like to see Sam Gagner and Sam Carrick inserted into the lineup but he doesn't think that will happen given that they're too slow. He also talks about Adam Henrique and how he's been playing injured and that it's impacted the team heavily.   After Risahug leaves, we have 'The Wrap' for William Huff to summarize the show! Darren Dreger joins us during the second hour as today's 'Pro Am Sports Big Guest of the Day.' He looks back on the Oilers' 4-3 loss against the Canucks and what it means for game 4 on the horizon. He breaks down some goaltending and what are the big part of the series in games to come. He shares his thoughts on what's going on in Toronto and what the Leafs management expects for next year and how they're approaching the offseason. He circles back to the Edmonton Oilers series by highlighting some of the issues in goaltending.   Dreger also gives his opinion on the Carson Soucy crosscheck to the face and what may come from it.   After that, he takes a look around the NHL and some of the other series going on. He thinks the Panthers and the Rangers are way too much for the Bruins and Hurricanes where they'll move onto the next round to set up a heavy Eastern Conference Final.   He moves back over to the Western Conference where he breaks down the Avalanche and Stars series.   After Dreger leaves, Lt. Eric, Jay Milne and Zachticum continue their conversation on the game and the series as a whole. Who starts? What needs to happen overall? Who needs to step up? How can the Oilers get back into the series?   Milne then lays down 'The Coolbet Hotline of the Day' going to the NBA and checking out the Boston Celtics. He takes them on the spread at 8.5 and he picked under in the match. That bet is +250!    They come back to read some texts from 'The Paris Jewellers Inbox' where each day one fan wins the 'Text of the Day' for a $20 A&W gift card!   Of course, we got 'MMMMMM That's Good' for the Italian Centre Shop! EST Glue Guy Jay Milne and Lt. Eric are back for another episode of The Nielson Show!   Last night, the Edmonton Oilers lost game three against the Vancouver Canucks in a hard-fought battle.   Brocker Boeser scored two goals and had three points in the game. Elias Lindholm also had two goals. Quinn Hughes had two assists while Arturs Silovs had a .933 SV%.   Evan Bouchard, Leon Draisaitl and Mattias Ekholm had one point and one assist. Stuart Skinner was pulled for Calvin Pickard to start the second period and the Edmonton Oilers were just short of hitting the mark with two posts clanked during play.   The boys open the show by recapping the night and what to look out for as an Oilers fan.   We got the 'Morning Announcements' presented by 100.3 The BEAR!   Jay Milne and Lt. Eric get into 'The Morning After Show' for E.M. Utility locating where they look at the big moment of the game, the fourth star and the 38th star of the game. Of course, they have to pick their 'Steady Eddie of the Evening.'   We then get into 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' from the weekend! Our Birdie Booze launch was the good, the start of the game was the bad and the ugly was the Detroit Pistons falling from first to fifth overall TWO YEARS IN A ROW!
